How come I’m just finding out bands like Cinderella were actually GOATs?

Loudness are an incredible band. I was introduced to them by a guy I used to be in a bunch of different bands with. Loudness was his favourite band and Akira Takasaki was his favourite guitarist, and biggest inspiration with how he approached his instrument. We were in a few bands, one was a black metal band, one was a death metal band, both had largely NSBM type lyrics and aesthetics, mixed with some Norse and pegan and like Indo-European history stuff.
>>
>>131132370
They lost the plot a bit with their third album I don't like the blues shtick being more than just one song in the album like Ratt's Way Cool Jr.

But the anti-hair metal stuff is a psyop to make white americans depressed, lazy and passive (instead of rebellious, joyful people who were proficient in their own instruments) after the cold war ended. See how the Alternative Rock crowd doesn't criticize black rappers for having lyrics 10x more sexist and violent than Hair Metal bands.

I thought their shift towards blues was organic and not too heavy-handed. I love all four of their major label albums and if there’s a weak link, I think it might be their debut.

Glam was way darker, heavier, and more satanic than 99% of Death and Black metal; extremecels just seethe about it because they get shred-mogged by guys like George Lynch

This isn't a hottake this is a bonified fact hair glam metal bands were comprised of both wokies who later came out as bi, gay, or trans and chuds who fucked a lot of sexy women. It was a magnificent unity that was destroyed by grunge and separated the two tribes once more. They called them fake and phony but at least hair metal was honest about their rockstar lifestyle unlike grunge which tried to hide away it's degeneracy and acted like they were goodie two shoes but they really weren't. Grunge was never honest about their debauchery so if you ask me grunge was the true phony genre.
>>
>>131144254
I think a lot of grunge bands actually were legit by their own very gay standards. I’m pretty sure Pearl Jam sacked one of their drummers because he was fucking groupies. Heaven forbid
>>
I heard this on the hair metal station today

>>131144277
does it really count of it's the drummer though? historically dummers have always been treated like sacrificial lambs and get sacked for literally anything

Nah, real men listen to all the shredding music, be it thrash, heavy, speed, surf, hair, guitar wank, riff hardcore and Gary Moore.
>>
>>131144254
It was actually almost all made up of chads who realized women dig the androgynous look, same as any later music aesthetics that did the same

There were THREE main waves of glam metal (not counting the 2010s revivals)

WAVE 1 Early-mid 80s: classic glam metal. WASP, Mötley Crüe etc

WAVE 2 mid-late 80s: the SLOP wave. Nitro, Bon Jovi, all those astroturfed bands that crashed as soon as the billboard charts started counting records sold to the customer as opposed to records shipped to the outlets

WAVE 3 late 80s early 90s: the glame/groove/grunge transition point: Pantera, early Alice in Chains, classic Guns n Roses

I didn't think it was possible to have a more talentless music genre than punk rock, but then there was hair metal
>>
>>131161319
Unlike most punk artists, Hair Metal Musicians largely were competant musicians (except motley crue since Mick Mars was the only one worth a fuck in that band). I would take Dokken, Van Halen, Dokken, Ratt, amd Poison over whiny ass shit like the Dead Kennedy's.

I don't care if its not all "hair metal" or whatever.
Its hard rockin' that's what
>>
>>131161319
Nah, the thing about hair metal is that even though a lot of it was disposable radio fodder, it was often made by extremely high-level musicians - Mr. Big and Winger are good examples of this.

Even bands on the wussier end of the spectrum like Nelson and Enuff Z'nuff had crazy guitar players.
