he reminds me of Brendan Frasier in the affair interview

This is insane, I've got chills man. Always thought the shyness was just an act
>>
>>75675409
great interview, seems like a really nice guy
>>
>Has about 300 studio albums
>Only a few of them are worth a damn
>>
>>75678130
Those few contain inhuman guitar talent and some have beautiful melodies
>>
>>75678130
He has more than a few good albums, but they're still outnumbered by the amount of atonal wank he's put out since he released the pikes
>>
As someone who's never listened to Buckethead what albums are recommended to start with?
I've started chronologically with Bucketheadland and so far I'm liking it.
>>
>>75679505
My favorite album of his is Shadows Between the Sky, but his most popular are probably Colma, Electric Tears, Population Override, and Pepper's Ghost.
>>
>>75679505
>>75679542
Pepper's ghost is great. I like decoding the tomb of the bansheebot a lot. Enter the chicken is really interesting and has features like serj. Albino slug has a couple of my favorites, as well as crime slunk scene.

I like pikes 271 and 268 off the top of my head
>>
>>75679505
Look up "Pike Suggester", I'd include a link but 4chan thinks it's spam. This site helps you to pick the Pikes on your favourite genre and mood.
>>
>>75679505
population override is probably the best one I've heard. but I haven't heard many
>>
>only known because of a meme song in Guitar Hero 2
JUST
>>
>>75681859
what song was that, Jordan?
>>
>We could lose Buckethead

Fuck this gayest of earths.
>>
>>75676735

He sounds like a tired Theodore Logan.

Why does Buckethead talk like a teenager?
>>
I've never heard of the guy - how did he release 118 studio albums in one year?
>>

Hold Me Forever (In memory of my mom Nancy York Carroll) is one of his best albums, but it's one of the pikes so it's easy to forget about. Also it's doing the thing were every song transitions into the other so it's hard to really get a grasp of the album.

If you are a fan of the guy get your ass to his website and buy one of his albums. For a bit of extra you can get a signed CD with a unique doodle. Bought a signed copy of the aforementioned album and it's probably my favorite music-related piece I have.

As far as pikes go, Claymation Courtyard, Hold Me Forever, Poseidon, and Glacier are all really good. Also, if you like Pepper's Ghost, listen to Albino Slug.

By doing nothing but playing guitar and recording every single jam session.

How well do these albums sell? I thought Green day releasing 3 albums in a year was ambitious...
I might as well check some of his work out.
I'm not wrong in thinking there was a Lord Buckethead during the UK elections, right?
>>
>>75683568
Probably not too well. I don't think he does it for the money. In the interview he says that his music represents his life. I think it's just his coping mechanism when he encounters adversity so during that stretch of time he was probably very stressed and anxious.
>>
>>75683568
well each one of those "pike" albums are $20 if you're going to get the vinyl so if one very dedicated fan wants the whole set they need to dish out around $5000 even if you just want the digital copies that's still like $2000

some madman on rym has actually reviewed all 273 of the pike albums so there's that:
https://rateyourmusic.com/list/siLLy_puPPy/buckethead-pikes-in-numerical-order-with-reviews-1/
he even narrowed the 273 down to 100 of his favorite:

The albums are only available physically in a limited amount, so they really don't need to sell a whole lot. After the physical copies run out, they are then available for sale digitally.
>>
>>75679505
Giant Robot and Monsters & Robots if you want weird vocal sample-heavy jams about slasher flicks, basketball and japanese action figures

Colma, Electric Tears and Population Override if you want mellow instrumental jams

Pepper's Ghost, Elephant Man's Alarm Clock, Crime Slunk Scene and Decoding The Tomb of Bansheebot if you want straightforward rock instrumentals

Cuckoo Clocks of Hell if you heavy as fuck anti-chill that's actually stressful to listen to

I'd bet he's somewhere on the autism spectrum. Not meant in any sort of disparaging way, but there's a hesitant lilt in his voice that reminds me of family members I have that are diagnosed.

Buckethead's a fuckin legend, it sounds like he's been dealing with medical problems for close to the past decade but he's found good ways to cope with it and be strong.

Love the guy. I've listened to all of his albums, by the way.

No, he mean that channers pretend to have autism (although they don't really know what it is, or how rare it is) because that's the current fad. You probably knew about that and I hate to be the party pooper, but this shit is becoming painfully embarrassing and needs to stop.

Bucket is the best.

M&R is much closer to bucketheadland and Giant Robot than it is to Cuckoo Clocks.
Either way though, it's cool to see a buckethead infographic for a change.

How long ago did you guys discover Buckethead?
What was your very first experience with him?
What was your first full album?
What about him appeals to you so much?

>How long ago did you guys discover Buckethead?

>What was your very first experience with him?
Idunno, nottingham lace?
>What about him appeals to you so much?
at least he's got some sense of humour and self-awareness unlike most shredders
>>
>>75695475
I discovered him when I was 13, first album was Crime Scene Slunk. I'm 23 now and though my tastes have somewhat changed, I still like to revisit a few of his songs.
What appeals? What >>75695636 said + being original in live-shows.
>>
around the 28 minute mark, he talks about losing his parents... sad stuff. says he feels their presence when he plays... maybe that's why he records so much music now.
>>
>>75695088
oh fuck the viggo collab description had me laughing pretty hard for a few minutes
>>
Absolutely crazy to hear this guy, i thought i'd never see the day.
>>
>>75695475
>How long ago did you guys discover Buckethead?
>What was your very first experience with him?
Either Padmasana or Baptism of Solitude came up on Pandora while I was sulking in class
>What was your first full album?
Electric Tears
>What about him appeals to you so much?
Mainly the emotion put forth with no words required

Also the collabs with Travis Dickerson are the best
>>
>>75679505
Praxis: Transmutation is WAY better than any of his solo work

Is the bucket headland stuff his most metal?
>>

this is a very sad interview

I saw him live a few years back. Unfortunately he didn't have a full band (just him playing to backing tracks), but it was pretty amazing just to watch him play.
He also threw like 900 CDs into the audience, and each one was supposed to be completely different.

bucket has been suffering for the past 10 years :(
