>Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris will face off in Philadelphia on Tuesday. The Republican and Democratic nominees are set to lay out their vision for the country – and knock their opponent on issues ranging from inflation and the economy to abortion rights and the southern border.

>The debate marks one of the first major hurdles for Harris in her 2024 bid for the White House. The vice president ascended to the top of the Democratic ticket earlier this year after President Joe Biden's disastrous debate performance sparked weeks of concerns that ultimately led to the end of his reelection campaign.

>On Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 9 p.m. EDT, USA TODAY Network will stream The ABC News Presidential Debate Simulcast on the USA TODAY channel, available on most smart televisions and devices.

>ABC News will host the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump Tuesday. However, multiple channels, including NBC and CNN, will broadcast the event as well.

>Trump running mate JD Vance is in Philadelphia, part of a large group of debate "spinners" who will promote the former president's cause with the media. The Trump spinner list also includes Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the former independent candidate who dropped out and endorsed Trump.

>Daughter-in-law Lara Trump, a co-chair of the Republican National Committee, will also be spinning tonight.

>So will at least ten more Republican governors and members of Congress.

Pro-Palestinian protester disrupts Walz’s watch party

He was at a debate watch party in Mesa, Arizona.

A protester holding a Palestinian flag interrupted Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s remarks at a debate watch party in Mesa, Arizona.

The person was heard yelling on a livestream that the crowd was “complicit” in the mounting death toll of Palestinians amid the war with Israel. The crowd eventually drowned out the protester with shouts of “USA!”

Walz, after security removed the protester, painted the Democratic ticket as the “underdogs” in the presidential race, in his remarks just moments before Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump took the debate stage in Philadelphia.

“But we’re seeing huge crowds,” Walz added, referring to a frequent dig at Trump. He argued Harris in the debate would lay out her plans for an “opportunity economy” for all Americans, while Trump would only talk about himself.

Earlier in the day, Walz stopped at a cafe to meet with Arizona State University students as the campaign tries to drive turnout among young voters in the battleground state.

>The moderator Linsey Davis just now refuted Trump’s false claim that some states allow for the killing of a baby after it is born. That is the first clear fact-check of a candidate’s onstage comments that we have seen in either of this year’s presidential debates.

>Trump repeated the falsehood that Democrats wanted Roe v. Wade to end. It’s basically handing Harris a line on an issue she’s been a forceful voice on.

>In private, Trump has made clear to advisers that he believes the abortion issue alone could cost him the election. More than any other issue, he has been anxious and indecisive about how to position himself on abortion. NYT:

Trump has stumbled on abortion, trying to castigate Ralph Northam, the former governor of Virginia, but repeatedly referring to “the governor of West Virginia.” He has begun the name-calling, labeling Harris a Marxist. >Immigrants are “taking over the towns. They’re taking over buildings. They’re going in violently.”

>— Former President Donald J. Trump

>False. The claim is factually incorrect. The former president was referring to towns in Ohio and Colorado that have seen large influxes of immigrants, most of whom came into the United States legally, often with work permits. There have been examples of crime in those cities, but the vast majority of the immigrants have been working and paying taxes. In Springfield, Ohio, for example, thousands of Haitian immigrants have helped fill jobs as the city recovered from steep economic decline, but their presence has divided the town politically. A traffic accident caused by a Haitian immigrant has roiled the city, but there has not been widespread violence, and many in the city support the Haitian migrants as an important part of the economy.

>Harris, Trump try to relitigate the pandemic

>Harris went after Trump, who defended his record.

>The Covid-19 pandemic resurfaced in the debate just as many voters are trying to move on from the issue.

>Donald Trump and Kamala Harris tried to relitigate the Covid-19 pandemic, with Harris going after Trump, who defended his record.

>Harris accused Trump of leaving the Biden administration "the worst public health epidemic in a century.” Trump claimed the U.S. made ventilators for "the entire world."

>The nation struggled to meet the demand for ventilators at the outset of the pandemic, and polling has generally shown Trump’s handling of the pandemic was less popular than President Joe Biden’s, though Biden’s declined as the pandemic went on.

>When it was Harris’s turn to respond to the unverified claims with the mic on, she laughed and said, “Talk about extreme!” She has spent much of her time running for president trying to diminish Trump and cut him down to size. Laughing directly at his claims onstage is an extension of that strategy.
>>
NYT:
>“Every legal scholar — every Democrat, every Republican, liberal, conservative — they all wanted” abortion policy “to be brought back to the states.”

>— Former President Donald J. Trump
False.

>Some conservative legal scholars asked the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that identified a right to abortion in the Constitution. They said state legislators, not unelected justices, should set abortion policy. But many legal scholars also filed briefs urging the court not to do so, arguing that the original decision had been on solid legal ground and that overturning federal protection for abortion would disastrously reverse five decades of precedent.

>A half hour through the debate, we have now had the first moment where Harris intentionally tried to get under Trump’s skin — and it worked. Going after the former president’s ego, Harris said people leave his rallies exhausted and bored. He had to respond, saying no one goes to her rallies. Then he angrily fell back to his immigration issues, bringing up baseless rumors of Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, eating pet dogs and cats. Again, a moderator, David Muir, interjected, saying the town’s city manager had told ABC News there was no credible allegation that any pets had been killed.

>"I didn't discuss it with JD, in all fairness," Trump said. "JD — and I don't mind if he has a certain view — but I think he was speaking for me."

NYT:
>Now Harris brings up Trump’s criminal convictions. In Trump's debate-prep sessions at his private clubs, Matt Gaetz embraced the role of trying to get under Trump’s skin, including by bringing up his multiple felonies.

>Harris, a former prosecutor, is reminding viewers that Trump is a convicted felon and talks about his coming court date. Striking a contrast between the two of them has become the backbone of her campaign appearances, and she brought this tactic to the debate stage.
>>
NYT:
>Trump tries to turn around the argument about the convictions by saying baselessly that these cases were started by the Biden administration. Two of the cases are state cases, but this is an argument that resonates deeply with Trump supporters.

>Trump: “I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things” that have been said by Democrats about him.

>When he speaks, Trump leans over the microphone, often wagging his finger to punctuate a point. As he rebutted Harris’s attack over his criminal prosecutions, he said, inaccurately, that every one of his cases was started by “them,” pointing directly at Harris.

NPR:
In a statement that drew a fact check from the moderator, Trump falsely claimed that a former West Virginia governor had called for “executing” babies after birth. Trump apparently intended to refer — also inaccurately — to a statement by former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, who is also a pediatric neurologist.

Northam faced controversy in 2019 over his response to a question about how to care for an infant born with fatal complications.

Trump later repeated the false claim that abortions take place “after birth.”

As ABC News anchor Linsey Davis mentioned during her real-time fact check, there is no state where it is legal to kill a baby after birth. A report from KFF earlier this year also noted that abortions “after birth” are illegal in every state.

According to the Pew Research Center, the overwhelming majority of abortions — 93% — take place during the first trimester. Pew says 1% take place after 21 weeks. Most of those take place before 24 weeks, the approximate timeline for fetal viability, according to a report by KFF Health News.

An analysis from KFF earlier this year noted that later abortions are expensive to obtain and offered by relatively few providers, and often occur because of medical complications or because patients face barriers earlier in their pregnancies.

“Nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term and asking for an abortion. That isn’t happening; it’s insulting to the women of America,” Harris said.

Harris also invoked religion in her response, arguing that “one does not have to abandon their faith” to agree that the government should not control reproductive health decisions.

As Davis also noted, Trump has offered mixed messages about abortion over the course of the campaign. He has bragged about his instrumental role in overturning Roe v. Wade, while appearing to backpedal on an issue that polling makes clear is a liability for Republicans.

NYT:
>If you are just joining the debate, for the past 20 minutes, it has gotten extremely personal. Harris intentionally picked the fight, bringing up the indictments pending against Trump and his felony convictions in New York. Trump fired back, baselessly accusing Harris and the Biden administration of “weaponizing” government to prosecute their political opponent.

>Harris gets a question on why many of her policy positions have changed, including her previous view that fracking should be banned. She says that “we have got to invest in diverse sources of energy” to reduce reliance on foreign oil and that she backed away from calls for a fracking ban in 2020.

>Linsey Davis confronted Harris on her policy reversals during a Democratic primary debate in 2019, which became one of the low points of Harris’s unsuccessful bid for president that year. Harris seems better prepared tonight to respond to a similar query that Davis posed: “I know you say that your values have not changed, so why have so many of your policies changed?”

>One of the interesting themes of this debate so far is how Harris has been on the offensive for most of it, and how Trump’s angry rebuttals are laced with misinformation, mixed-up facts and kernels of conspiracy theories.

>“I’m talking now,” Trump said to Harris, asking, “Sound familiar?” He has been talking privately about not letting Harris have a moment as she did with Mike Pence in 2020, when she stopped him after he cut her off.

>“The Trump administration resulted in a trade deficit — one of the highest we’ve ever seen in the history of America.”

>— Vice President Kamala Harris
>This is misleading.

>In 2020, at the end of Donald J. Trump’s tenure in office, the trade deficit — the difference between how much the United States imports and how much it exports — was about $650 billion. That was lower than four years of the George W. Bush administration, and the first three years of the Biden-Harris administration.

>“She went out in Minnesota and wanted to let criminals that killed people, that burned down Minneapolis.”

>From July 22 — the day after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race — through Tuesday, Democrats have placed more than $430 million on television, radio and digital advertisements, according to ad tracker AdImpact. Republicans, meanwhile, have spent more than $317 million.

>Harris’ campaign is the top spender, $179 million, as she’s played catch-up to introduce herself to voters. She’s followed by MAGA Inc., the pro-Trump super PAC, which placed $119 million. Trump’s campaign has spent $90 million.

>Pennsylvania, where tonight’s debate is being held, is unsurprisingly the state with the most ad spending: Democrats have spent $58 million to Republicans’ $55 million. Pennsylvania, which Biden narrowly clinched in 2020, is the largest of the battleground states and seen as a must-win for Harris. But unlike Biden, Harris doesn’t benefit from the deep ties to the state that “Scranton Joe” has.

Trump, who is trying to steady himself after spending much of the debate’s first hour on defense, returned to territory where he’s been successful in the past: attacking President Biden. Harris had a quick retort. “You’re not running against Joe Biden,” she said. “You’re running against me.”

All of Trump’s legal challenges to the outcome of the 2020 election were dismissed on “technicalities” or the basis of “standing.”

— Former President Donald J. Trump
This is false.

While some of the challenges to the last election were rejected on the basis of standing — that is, on the issue of whether the plaintiffs had the legal right to question the results and assert they had been harmed — there were some cases that were decided on the merits of whether there were improprieties in the race. And none of those cases were decided in Mr. Trump’s favor. One of the merits cases was decided in Wisconsin by Brett H. Ludwig, a federal judge appointed by Mr. Trump. “This court has allowed the plaintiff the chance to make his case,” Judge Ludwig wrote in his ruling, “and he has lost on the merits.”

Politico:
Fact check: Trump's debate claim about U.S. energy production and gas prices is pretty much the opposite of what's going on

Donald Trump is painting a picture of U.S. energy production that’s pretty much the opposite of what’s going on, saying the Biden administration has killed oil production and caused high gasoline prices. Actually, the United States is already producing more oil than any other country in the history of the world. Still, Trump tonight repeated his recent claims that there would be four or five times more crude oil gushing if he were in the White House instead of Joe Biden.

Oil market analysts have rolled their eyes at that statement. The amount of oil he’s talking about – 50 million barrels a day or more – would be almost impossible to produce and would crash oil prices globally if the U.S. even got close.

Gasoline prices did go up under the Biden administration, but that came amid a Covid-era supply shock and the Russian invasion of Ukraine – two events that scrambled the global energy market and that no White House occupant would have much control over. The price of a regular gallon of gas now is under $3 in many states and heading lower.

Trump also repeated the fact that Biden killed the Keystone XL oil pipeline – which is true – but then pivoted to saying Biden also “approved” the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which carried natural gas from Russia to Germany.

The story’s a little more convoluted than that. Trump put sanctions on companies working on the Russian pipeline, a move pushed by Ted Cruz – the Republican senator representing the big natural gas state of Texas. Trump’s move miffed Germany, which had wanted the gas. Germany then pushed Biden to remove the sanctions, which he did, and the gas started flowing. Then Russia invaded Germany, someone bombed Nord Stream 2, and the U.S. started shipping massive amounts of liquefied natural gas to Europe to replace that gas.

Harris said she agreed with Biden’s decision to pull out of Afghanistan, and argued that “as of today, there is not one member of the American military” in active combat today. She avoided discussion of how the withdrawal was executed. But she comes back by recalling Trump’s direct negotiations with the Taliban and his desire to invite them — a terrorist group — to Camp David. “He does not again appreciate the role and the responsibility of the president of the United States.”

>Harris is reminding people that Trump invited the Taliban to Camp David shortly before the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. She’s making this point on the eve of yet another anniversary of that day.
>With only 15 minutes left, the debate has stayed on foreign policy, going into depth on the war in Ukraine, then segueing into Afghanistan. Harris hit Trump hard and framed him as a toady to Vladimir Putin, who “would be sitting in Kyiv right now” had Trump been president. But this is an area where Trump has some strength, playing on the war-weariness of the country. Still, Trump refused to say he wanted Ukraine to win.

>Harris turns to a central difference in national security: whether the United States fights for democracy, or backs authoritarians. Trump has done nothing tonight to talk about American values or principals. Only deal making.

I “have built it into many, many billions of dollars; many, many billions.”

— Former President Donald J. Trump
This is exaggerated.

Trump habitually exaggerates his wealth, so much so that the New York attorney general’s office sued him for fraudulently inflating his net worth, a case that led to a more than $450 million judgment against him.

In reality, he has about $400 million in cash, stocks and bonds, though if the New York case is upheld on appeal, it will essentially wipe out his liquid assets.

Much of his purported net worth is tied up in the real estate he owns. So when Trump says he is worth many billions, he appears to be referring to the value of that property. But property values fluctuate, and there is no reliable assessment of his assets. He also has a roughly $2 billion stake in his social media company, though he can’t yet access those shares and their value has plummeted in recent months.

“A lot of these illegal immigrants coming in —” Democrats are “trying to get them to vote.”

— Former President Donald J. Trump
This lacks evidence.

In recent months, Trump and other Republicans have frequently made the false claim that there’s a major crisis of noncitizens illegally voting in federal elections. They often claim, with no evidence, that Democrats are trying to get undocumented immigrants to vote in order to cheat their way to electoral victory.

In fact, people who are not U.S. citizens already face fines or imprisonment for voting in federal elections under a 1996 law. And experts point to data indicating that cases of noncitizens voting are rare and nowhere near the threshold to sway an election. Instance of undocumented people doing so are even rarer. Registrants to vote have to swear under penalty of perjury that they are citizens, and some states check for citizenship against federal databases.

Organizations including the left-leaning Brennan Center, the conservative Heritage Foundation and the libertarian Cato Institute that have examined the legal system, registration records or election offices for cases of citizenship fraud have found very few examples.

Former President Donald J. Trump repeated a false and outlandish claim that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, have abducted and eaten their neighbors’ pets.

Mr. Trump made the comments on Tuesday early in his first debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, shortly after Ms. Harris mocked his rallies as so filled with fictions and fringe theories that attendees leave early. Mr. Trump responded by trying to pivot back to the subject under discussion, immigration.

“A lot of towns don’t want to talk about it because they’re so embarrassed by it,” he said. “In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs. The people that came in, they’re eating the cats. They’re eating — they’re eating the pets of the people that live there.”

Mr. Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance of Ohio, have amplified the internet rumor on the campaign trail this week. It stems from viral social media posts that have spread as Mr. Vance and others have sought to stir fears about the growing Haitian population in Springfield, though members of the community are living and working in the United States legally.

Local officials have found no evidence, credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed by Haitian residents.

When David Muir, a debate moderator, noted the lack of evidence, Mr. Trump said he had gotten his information from “the people on television saying my dog was taken and used for food.”

Ms. Harris laughed. Mr. Trump’s “extreme” statements, she said, are one of the reasons she has the endorsements of 200 Republicans.

Mr. Vance then appeared to backtrack on Tuesday morning in a social post, saying his office had “received many inquiries” about the false claims. But he added that “it’s possible, of course, that all of these rumors will turn out to be false.”

That has not stopped the social media platforms from being awash with memes and AI-generated images of cats in support of Mr. Trump.

Job opportunities in Springfield, a city of roughly 58,000 people between Columbus and Dayton, have attracted thousands of Haitians since the pandemic began, with city officials estimating that as many as 20,000 have arrived. By some accounts, the immigrant community has helped revitalize the town, though it has put pressure on housing, schools and hospitals.

“For years we were paying almost all of NATO. We were being ripped off by European nations, both on trade and on NATO. I got them to pay up.”

— Former President Donald J. Trump
This is misleading.

Trump incorrectly characterizes the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Member countries make direct contributions to the organization, based on national income, and also agree to spend at least 2 percent of their gross domestic product on their own defense.

Trump’s complaints led to NATO reducing the United States’ contribution to the common fund. Previously the United States paid about 22 percent of its central budget, and it dropped to 16 percent. And the number of countries meeting that 2 percent guideline increased to 10 from five in recent years.

Trump can claim some credit for increased spending, but it’s worth noting that countries pledged in 2014 to meet that goal within a decade.

Kamala Harris spent Tuesday night’s debate trying to win the 2024 election. Donald Trump was still fighting for 2020.

The former president distanced himself from comments he made in recent days acknowledging that he lost the 2020 race “by a whisker.” At the debate, he claimed he was being “sarcastic” and returned to his well-worn — and false — claim that he won four years ago.

It’s a refrain that generates applause lines at rallies stacked with his fiercest supporters but has in recent years flopped with a national audience and reminded them of the collective horror the nation felt on Jan. 6, 2021.

Trump’s insistence that he was actually the winner in 2020 came amid a longer exchange in which he also defended his handling of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Trump refused multiple opportunities from moderator David Muir to acknowledge any “regrets” for his actions on Jan. 6, when he encouraged a crowd of supporters to march on the Capitol and then remained silent for hours when thousands of them stormed Congress, many assaulting police and disrupting the certification of Joe Biden’s victory.

Trump’s comments prompted Harris to deliver one of her sharpest rejoinders of the night: “Perhaps we do not have, in the candidate to my right, the temperament or the ability to not be confused about fact,” Harris said.

Rather than chastise his supporters who bludgeoned police on Jan. 6, Trump instead attacked the Capitol Police officer who fired the shot that killed rioter Ashli Babbitt as she attempted to clamber inside the Speaker’s Lobby near the House chamber, as lawmakers were being evacuated. Trump called that officer “out of control.”
>>
He also falsely accused then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi of rebuffing an offer to secure the Capitol with 10,000 National Guard troops. And he said he had nothing to do with the violence that broke out.

Harris noted that she was at the Capitol on Jan. 6, though didn’t mention that she departed for the Democratic National Committee headquarters before the violence broke out. She went on to compare Trump’s handling of the mob to his comments about the racist and anti-Semitic marchers in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017. And she noted that Trump delivered a rallying cry to the far right Proud Boys in 2020 — telling the group to “stand back and stand by” — three months before its leaders formed the vanguard of the Jan. 6 mob.

In addition to Trump’s continued effort to mislead about his supporters’ actions on Jan. 6, he also revived false claims about his campaign’s courtroom efforts to overturn the 2020 election results — which uniformly failed across the country.

Trump falsely claimed that judges refused to look at evidence of fraud when they rejected roughly 60 lawsuits filed by him and his allies, suggesting that it remained possible he did win four years ago.

“No judge looked at it. They said we didn’t have standing,” the former president said. In fact, many of the suits were rejected due to flaws in the legal claims or lack of evidence of fraud.

>The Harris campaign says that it wants a second presidential debate in October, moments after the end of the first debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

>"That was fun. let's do it again," Harris advisor Brian Fallon said.

>The Washington Post reported that the campaign had planned to announced its desire for a second debate before the November election.

>Trump has also called for multiple debates between the two so a second matchup between the two seems likely.

insurance "works" by having you pay them hundreds of dollars every month and then when you end up getting sick or in an accident or whatever they still need you to fork over two grand or whatever before they start footing some of the bill. and then they try to say they won't pay for your follow-up care or that your illness actually doesn't require specialized treatment and if you don't fight them on it you'll be SOL. unless you have god tier insurance because you're a boomer who was grandfathered or you're rich this is how it is for most americans who utilize healthcare and insurance

Left with little to praise about former President Donald J. Trump’s underwhelming debate performance, Fox News hosts quickly focused their ire on ABC News, accusing the network and its debate moderators of skewing their questions to Vice President Kamala Harris’s advantage.

Martha MacCallum, who co-anchored Fox’s post-debate coverage on Tuesday night, opened by declaring that Ms. Harris had been given a free pass by the ABC moderators and “was really never held to the fire.”

“That falls on ABC,” Ms. MacCallum added, to much agreement from her colleagues around the table. “I think there were moments when it felt like they were helping her out.”

Sean Hannity called ABC News “the biggest loser in the debate.”

And Laura Ingraham insisted that it was ABC’s intent all along to boost the vice president. “ABC’s goal tonight was to help Kamala Harris,” she said. “And ABC did help Kamala Harris.”

Ms. Ingraham also offered a gentle criticism of the former president. “Did Donald Trump miss a few opportunities?” she asked. “Absolutely.”

Only Brit Hume, one of Fox’s longest-serving on-air personalities, went beyond simply acknowledging Mr. Trump’s uneven performance. “Make no mistake about it,” he said. “Trump had a bad night.”

Still, Fox News was not the only network whose anchors were unsubtle about their view of the debate. Over on MSNBC, Rachel Maddow told viewers that her colleagues were so thrilled with Ms. Harris’s performance that they were debating whether she might have had “the best televised presidential debate performance ever.”

That's all they have left: because now - after this debate - they can't even attack she who represents the left.
I'm reminded of a saying on a Zippo lighter: 'When nothing's going right, try going left'

That which was implemented in 1948 by the post-war Labor PM Clement Attlee - praised by the previous Conservative who was PM before then - that which was planned during WWII: The National Health Service and Welfare State. Who was the PM who planned that.
You know who admires that wartime Conservative PM Winston Churchill? Donald Trump. Even had a bust of him near the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office between 2017-2021. Must have liked his policies if he liked that PM. He wouldn't if he didn't.

The schadenfreude we of the left can now enjoy will only increase exponentially until that day on 20th January 2025 when Harris says '...so help me God' and we witness Total MAGAtard Death.
Prepare yourselves for your complete obliteration, rightards in not only /pol/, but /news/: for once she says that, whatever your retarded opinions in /news/, we of the left can simply say 'President Kamala Harris. Your opinions are eternally invalid.'
4th July: Starmergeddon.
7th July: Faily National thrown under political bus after French electorate gave New Popular Front the keys to said bus
Early next month: Certain Americans will want some of that rightard-destroying action: as per Britain celebrating independence from the Conservatives by giving Keir Starmer the electoral weapon to destroy them on 4th July, so - making sure the final domino falls - said Americans will do the same on 5th November: Bonfire Night in Britain.

>>
>>1341308
it's all the same machine
>>
>>1341309
>>1341308
Look up the house select committee with former AG Jeff Rossen. He testified that Trump saw some video on YouTube claiming that an Italian spy was using satellites to hack into voting machines and switch votes from Trump to Biden. He sent this video to his chief of staff Mark Meadows who then hounded the DOJ for weeks asking them to announce investigations, contact the Italian government and meet with Guiliani and the creator of the YouTube video to help Trump overturn the election. Far-right conspiracy cesspools now have a direct pipeline to the president of the U.S. Send out a post on your Facebook claiming that your school board is funding sex change operations for illegal immigrant toddlers and you might get to see your batshit made up conspiracy come out of the U.S. president's mouth on live TV. Wild times we live in.

There's a lot of overestimating going on I think. The most reasonable interpretation anyone can gather from listening to Trump's former employees speak is that he's actually a deranged, idiotic boomer who comes up with retarded ideas on the fly and everyone around him is forced to walk the fine line between kissing his ass but also keep themselves out of federal prison.
>>
>>1341326
no, there's an entire internet campaign that russia and several other actors maintain which has almost entirely ruined the internet
>>
>>1341319
And when you say the 'userbase', you mean laundering whatever the Russians gave them.
Notice how /pol/ wielded significantly less influence after 2016 when people put to together it was just the Russians. Although the real tipping point was when the Russians tried the same tactics in interfering in the 2018 French Election with forged documents (Made in a pirated Russian version of excel) only the French didn't fuck around because their authorities contacted gookmoot who then had to beg /pol/ to stop spreading the fake documents because France has shown they will prosecute.
