Are you me? This is literally and factually what I have done.

I even missed out on some objectively better deals like a TW200 because I got so obsessive about it that I second guessed myself into jumping on it when I saw it.

Same with a DRZ400 I should have got.

This is my third attempt.

Because they have terrible upper management. Imagine if Harley started designing something along the lines of Indian's FTR 1200. Naked bikes are big again and Harley has again refused to make anything to capitalize on that market and is ceding 100% of the sales in that category to the other manufacturers. They need to keep the rugged and muscle aesthetics of an American bike without the feet forward cruiser style everyone under the age of 50 associates with AARP memberships and beer guts.

help me decide between a drz400s w/ fcr39 carb or a stock xr650l?
>>
Hi guys, bout to buy a 78 CB400A Hawk. Haven't seen it in person but facebook guy claims its in pretty good condition; it was garage kept and the pics seem good. He put a new battery in it, but the carb makes it idle heavy, which he says is the only problem. For $1800, you think its worth getting? The new battery makes me wonder if the electrics are ok, since i heard that bike has a habit of overcharging the battery and frying shit.

>>27975190
DRZ is the way better buy.

No, motorcycles are extremely dangerous. Forget high-speed accidents killing you, even if you survive there is a good chance you'll suffer a truly gruesome and permanent injury. There is a lot you can do to make it safer, but it's still extremely dangerous even if you wear top safety gear and ride extremely defensively. The two more common things that get riders are intersections and highways. Every single intersection could have a retarded cagie that is going to blow a stop sign and potentially kill you. Every single one. You have to ride knowing that, keep it in the back of your mind at all times. I might look like a dork in my plain white helmet, but I've seen first hand how much it helps cars see me.

Riddle me this anons

>commute on 125cc honder to work and back all week
>only 4 miles there and back
>starts first time every time
>go for crooze over the weekend
>only a 25mile run
>get home, bike sits for 2-3 hours
>need to go out again
>bike takes 5-10 kicks with no sign of life , choke on full/half etc
>eventually fires up
>back to starting first time every time

Is this just the quirks of a old carb'd 125?

Why does my (1 cylinder) engine have a weird knocking/tapping noise now at idle? I just had the top rebuilt and had a new piston ring installed because low compression. My hard starting is gone and everything runs so much better now, except for the new noise.

I'm not sure if something is wrong or it's the default idle sound because I've only had this bike for around 1000 miles. Or is it something that's supposed to go away after break-in?
>>
>>27976521
>I just had the top end rebuilt
probably too much valve clearance. wont hurt anything
>>
So it's approaching the first year of having my A2 loicense, should I just wait another year, get the A license and buy an actual bike?
It's not like I have somewhere to store it, so while I search for a garage near my home, might as well just wait this one year.
I was aiming at something like a teneré since yamaha is less kike than honda and doesn't make you buy a cigarette lighter as an extra to have power for your phone.

Are you trying to say you're currently a nobike, and asking if you should get an A2 one or just wait a year? If so why did you not get a bike when you got your licence? And if you did, why did you get rid of it? An A2 bike can still make a decent commuter and be fun to ride.

**A Hellish Ride on a Yamaha R7**

So, I got my hands on this Yamaha R7, huh? A "sportbike," they called it. More like a torture device. I'm talking about a machine that's slower than a snail on a hot plate, and about as comfortable as a medieval rack. It's like trying to race a tortoise in a marathon while wearing a straitjacket.

The thing looks like a racetrack refugee, all sleek and aerodynamic and whatnot, but it's got the soul of a grocery getter. It's like trying to squeeze a Ferrari engine into a Yugo. The acceleration is about as exciting as watching paint dry, and the handling is about as sharp as a butter knife.

I rode this thing out into the country, hoping to find some open road and let it rip. But it was more like a Sunday drive with grandma, only with a lot more pain. The seat is harder than a rock, and the riding position is so cramped, I felt like I was being squeezed into a vice. It's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

After a few miles, I started to feel like I was going to fall apart. My wrists were aching, my back was killing me, and my legs felt like they were going to fall off. It was like being tortured by a sadistic sadist.

So, if you're looking for a motorcycle that's about as exciting as watching grass grow, and about as comfortable as a medieval rack, then the Yamaha R7 is your huckleberry. But if you're looking for a machine that can actually get your blood pumping without causing you physical pain, you might want to look elsewhere.

If it were up to the engineers the fender extensions wouldn't exist. They only exist because of weird safety/regulatory laws.
To be clear, we're not talking about the tail of the bike, we're talking about the black plastic used to present the license plate more clearly.
>>
>>27976617
As I've said, I'm searching for a garage, I don't have any place to have both my car and bike and the 500 bicycles my father has to have.
So yes, I don't have a bike and was debating if when I buy that garage, to buy an A2 one or wait, get the A and a 700cc bike, waiting isn't a problem for me, although I went to try an xmax 300 and fell in love with how easy to ride it is

and you still have tendies, why did you even bother
>>
>>27976763
you need to adjust your tire pressure (wear pattern) and suspension (raised tread edges). it'll make you faster. lots of riders/staff at the track will be able to point you in the right direction, or just google what racers on your bike at your weight run

So did your situation change, or have you never had a bike? Have you only ridden when you did your test?
