I rode to work this morning and had a full 60 psi on the manual gauge and the pressure light was flashing even with the harness disconnected and de-pinned from the instrument cluster. So it's either the cluster or the ecm or some kind of feedback in the electrical system causing the light to flash, only at WOT high rpm. Weirdest electrical gremlin I've ever seen. At any rate, I'm done chasing it. I'm putting felt tape over the light and wiring in my own simple led indicator light for the pressure switch, and I'll be done with it
>>27986775Why is every T7 posted on /dbt/ on the most mild shit you can ride a bike on?

thoughts on BBK?I have a fucked piston. possibly a fucked cylinder (gonna pull it apart and check this weekend)will a BBK add value if I decide to flip the bike?
>>27987587>Thoughts They don't add as much power as you'd think. In your situation, where the piston and bore are already fucked, it might be a good alternative to expensive OEM parts or if you can't find OEM >Will it add valueIt will do the opposite. I would always choose an OEM bike over one with a Big bore kit
>>27987592what do you need to get power out of it?should I look into cams as well?
>>27986768Got a fuzzy seat for the hawg. I think it’s a bit much but will be nice for cold weather and long rides. Also adjusted shortened the clutch linkage because I couldn’t get enough travel to fully disengage the clutch. The bike doesn’t want to walk when it’s in gear anymore but finding neutral is still a pain. I think the primary belt might be too tight, it’s only got 1/4-1/2 inch of play and I think it’s supposed to be 3/4 or so. Hopefully that fixes it. It least I can stay still if I need to stop in gear now though.

He was told to stop, he would rev the throttle. He was told to go slow, he would speed. Told to go fast, he would go slow. quit riding dicks guys, see picMotorcycles are gay, don't you understand? Only poor people like Indians ride motorcycles. If you crash on a motorcycle you will die. If you crash in a car you can survive, because your car loves you, it wants to protect you. Only a car will be comfy, fast, and beautiful for you, always. When you're riding 1000cc dildo in the rain you look dumb. There's a reason why cars are more common in the US, where people have money. >>27987788I had never touched a motorbike before I was in the class, and I got 9 points total. (More is worse)The instructor was telling me that a few weeks before I took it, there were people who had never ridden a bicycle before in the class. They failed, but then retook it after the instructor had brought a bicycle in and taught them how to ride it, and one passed.
>>27987862The problem with regular boots and style boots in general is that those soles aren't going to slide if they touch pavement, they're going to start peeling. Arguably, a new pair of cheap $60-80 work boots would be better than those jump boots simply because they may have a steel toe in them.
>>27988132that fact that its a cvt
>>27988138if its off that scooter then nah
>>27987775>>27987788almost everyone there has never touched a bikemy class only had 2 people fail1 woman crashed into the guard rail1 patel dropped his bike from turning too sharp, too slowother than that everyone passedthere's enough youtube videos out there to show you what youre about to get into
>>27988170I walked up to him with a huff on my face, he glanced at me in my alpinestars bright-yellow airbag vest that made me look like a lego figure and bellowed "NICE BIKE, JAH". My gaze turned toward the pavement and I said "Y-you too". He then ripped a huge wienerschnitzel fart right on my $400 porous seatconcepts seat, leaving a brown streak all across it. He stood up and wiped his lederhosen off on my shift lever, yelled "IT'S OKTOBERFEST" to his wife (it was the middle of july) and skipped off, leaving me with my shit-stained T7. I then opened up my phone, browsed to /v/, and made a "DIE NAZI" thread.
about to watch this kinohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gShNCd_ZqOMi'll return with my synopsis
Lunch stop before heading down to the lighthouse. Perfect weather all weekend
>>27988256Cytube it
>>27988256The first minute of this screams "I am having a midlife crisis"
>>27988255kek
>>27988256why make it so dramatic though
>>27988256lmao
>>27988264I hate when they start hiding trackers on your bike when you go into the store for some cigs. I came out once and found half of an airtag i didn't recognize wedged under the subframeHOW THE HELL DID IT GET THERE?
>>27988274NEVER skip leg day
>>27988073> waiting patiently for Triumph to do a 765 RS version of this
>>27988283>How the hell do I replace my carb without garage and without getting harassed by authorities in a city?Carbs are thankfully pretty easy. I would just find a parking garage or a lot. Bring my tool roll (My tool roll has everything) and have at it. This depends entirely on how big your current carb is and how big your new carb is, if you can slide it past the subframe (I can on my bike)
>>27988283>>27988288If they give you shit about being in a parking lot, tell them it's a repair job and you're stranded (very true, you're stranded until the new carb is on)
>>27987513blue
>>27987763>Do y'all think he's right?yes, you can handle an mt07.
Still thinking about that piece of shit that touched MY SHIT and told me someone would steal it.The nerve
>>27988281They already did.
>>27987763Never let your friends upsell you on a bike you don't know if you can handle. Also if it's your first bike, get used. You won't feel as bad breaking it.
>>27988273>>27988263>>27988256yea nvm, that was dumbthis looks good thoughhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXaAMWuZXd8
i have 2 hours of riding experience in total, currently attending lessons to get a full license.should i get a honda goldwing? i really really like the idea of boomermaxxing. is this unwise?
>>27987763My only concern about recommending an mt07 to a brand new rider is that it can power wheelie and it has no rider modes to mute the throttle response. If you whiskey throttle that bike in lower gears it can come out from under you. Because of that (and other reasons) I really think a triumph trident is a better bike for you.
>>27988331Start on something lighter weight.
>>27987763no he's wrongwhy are those the only two optionsgo for a 500cc honda something
>>27988331horrible idea, heavy bikes are terrible for beginners. although i agree goldwings are dope
>>27988337wrong
>>27988238Not a fashion boot, the ones I got have steel toe, steel shank, and steel ankle. They are surplus army jump boots from the 90s, US made. It looks like the leather is pretty thick as well, based on the pics.
how do you guys get brake master cylinder screws out when they won't budge? they aren't stripped yet, and I have a JIS driver
>>27987121Tenere 700 are like these Jack Wolfskin jackets.Yamaha sells you the idea of you going off-road, of you being Pol Tarres, conquering the desert. In reality people use it as a touring bike with occasional light offroad tracks.
>>27988340>>27988349>horrible idea, heavy bikes are terrible for beginnerswhy so? lots of ppl i read said that heavier bikes are easier at low speeds cos theyre smoother
>>27988359Oh, then just wear them, yeah. They won't save you in a fall but they'll protect your feet from inadvertent touches with the pavement
>>27988365This is adventure biking in general. Everyone posts their KLR or Africa Twin on a light dirt road, but have you ever tried taking one on mud?
>>27986948I don't like doing that...
>>27988376>>27988365>Anons are surprised people use touring bikes with light off-road capabilities as touring bikes with light off-road capabilitiesEven the T7 is fucking HEAVY, what else would you want to do with one?
>>27988365ok.Why does this make you upset?Would you rather a ten year old harley with just 5k miles on it?
>>27988370You have it backwards. Heavy bikes are stable at high speed, but incredibly ungainly as low speed. The huge wheelbase and limited steering lock also hinder you. You WILL drop that bike and crush your foot as a brand new rider. Get like a Rebel 500 or something and put at least 10,000 miles on it before you go to a big tourer.
>>27988362>brake master cylinder screwsscrews? for the lid?some penetrating oil, put the screwdriver in and tap it lightly, like a punch. sometimes helps break them free
>>27988370its the opposite. heavy bikes are harder to manage at low speeds.
>>27987763Mt03 is very good, stay with it. Make sure it has abs.
>>27988376My sportbike handles dirt like a champ, but scoot struggles with bumps. Sportbikes on dirt and gravel is tons of fun. Only if it's not wet. If wet, I'm not taking it on dirt road.
>>27988371Sorry, not trying to argue, is there a reason steel reinforced boots would not be protective? I was under the impression most motorcycle boots were just reinforced leather boots. Is there something I'm missing?
>>27988137I have hentai tech tips and tentacle tech tips.
anybody ITT frens right now?
>>27988408yeah screws for the lid. I just threw some WD40 on it, I've tapped the lid a few times, I'll try it with the screwdriver inserted. I really don't want to put the bike out of commission by having to extract these but it needs the fluid done. I read that getting brake fluid in the threads can make them real stuck and it's a pretty crusty master cylinder.
>>27988309The new one looks more comfortable
>>27988376I’ve taken my T7 in mud and on steep, rocky inclines. It’s capable but it’s dicey. If I’m venturing into really rough stuff I’d rather take my WR250R. I used to ride a Honda Blackbird and one day on really poorly maintained roads in Maine I was struggling on the frost heaves when two guys on BMW adv bikes flew by. That’s when I realized that the upright position and lots of suspension travel of adv bikes is ideal for backroad touring. I’d get a Tracer 9 or Multistrada but I like being able to go into rough terrain sometimes and drop the bike without caring. Nobody buys an ADV bike to do hard enduro. If that were the goal I’d get a 300cc 2 stroke enduro bike and trailer it from riding spot to riding spot and have to change the oil every 5 hours.
>>27988429why do you always post this? is it a discord dogwhistle or something? post a bike if you want friends itt
All the sex having anons with friday dates, I request you to come back and post animu. Thanks.
>>27988436>post a bike if you want friends itteveryone will leave if i post my bike, i have to test the waters first. :c
>>27988362put the screwdriver on, hit it with the hammer while turning
at a cafe waiting for my bike to get the valves adjusted, rolled up to the shop and the guy is operating out of his house with a buddy lol
>>27988283Thankfully on my bike replacing the carb takes all of like 15 minutes tops. The biggest timesink is just unscrewing the nuts and wrestling the cable out of the slide.
>>27988449>there are people itt that have mechanics that will return a bike the same day. Most dealerships in my area require the bike to be left there at times for up to a week for simple shit. The 600mile service on my 790 I had to leave it with them for nearly a whole week. I'm jelly. Pic unrelated.
>>27988431wd40 might not be strong enoughif you live near an autoparts store, pick up something dedicated to penetrating rust. last resort you can try an impact screwdriver. its like a punch that when you hammer down on top of it it also turns the screw. that might be too much for the plastic master cylinder reservoir,
>>27988362Get an impact driver
>>27988437no ones having sex itt
no ones rides bikes itt
jk jk i do. idk bout you guys
last time I took my bike to a dealer they demanded to keep my bike for a week for a chain change and uggadugga'd my front sprocketall while charging me $140 for itI don't plan on going to a dealership again>>27988459im the only person ITT who actually daily rides
>>27988398I am just annoyed that grown men fall for these cheap marketing tricks.
>>27987763I finished my course earlier this year and got an mt-03 as my first bike and couldn't be happier. I think it's a lot fun for what it is and once you get used to it you can swap out the throttle tube for r6 tube to wake it up.
>>27988471>having Sex in the threadit's a blue board
>>27988509as blue as your balls
>>27988505For example, last time s.b. told me that the T7 is more reliable than other adventure bikes because it does not have ride by wire (electronics = bad, the old mantra).Well ride by wire is actually used on every modern car and airplane, these systems are tested and proven again and again.
>>27988433It is. That was kind of the point. Make a bike that the average person actually wants to ride.
>>27988511>ride by wire is actually used on every modern car and airplaneIf planes got the amount of maintenance I give my bikes, nobody would fly them.
>>27988511what do you think will last longer? His t7 or the...pretty much anything on my ktm. I've already experienced the dead throttle fault on mine.
>>27988505is it a trick if the bikes is capable of doing whats advertised?the owner being able to do it, is an entirely different issue
>>27988510wow now that was just uncalled for. And also wrong.
>>27988529>>27988529>>27988529>>27988529new comfort thread, no bullies!
>>27988526
>>27988521The T7 is already a very modern bike with an ECU, EFI and ABS.But it is marketed as simple and reliable bike (not that it isn't).This argument would be valid for older KLRs, but not for the T7. The electronic systems are developed externally by e.g. Bosch and sold by the millions with little to no room for errors.
>>27987183Liking this one a lot anon. Cheers.
>>27987219HELL YEAH BROTHER
>>27988362You need one of these. I go straight for it these days, no mucking around. Vessel is a good brand
>>27987664Either syntax works, but the first one sounds more like agreement than a statement.
>>27988978but don't I need a JIS bit to go with it?
>>27988200>love/hate this guy but his advice about riding position is correntlmao yeah I like this guy he seems like kind of a butthead but I like it. I've been watching a lot of his stuff already. I'll exhaust all my beginner/intermediate options in my area before working up to the higher level schools. Thanks for the advice anon also all the other anons answering my newfag questions.
>>27987465while it's running, spray tiny amounts of carb cleaner,wd40,degreaser,etc. close to every seal on the manifold & carb and listen for an RPM change.
>>27987948Hanging off 3 feet to get your knee down while getting passed by everyone will make you look like more of a dorkinb4 this is full ass man himself
