It adjusts the temp based on your body heat. It also has the blue and red capacitor slider thing below the vent and you can adjust it to diffuse the heat across the cabin or direct it at you.So if you want a blast of pure dry heat you leave it all the way red and if you prefer to keep your face cool without reducing the temp or speed of cabin warming up you leave it blue. The manufacturers will never do this because it would prevent them from putting in a shitty iPad that controls everything and marking up the price 500% of an iPad and rolling it into vehicle cost, but the first manufacturer to make a highly mechanical budget vehicle that lets you dock a phone to a screen that only does audio, maps, and phone sync will make a fortune.

Being unable to parse information at a quick glance or better yet muscle memory, is beyond unacceptable.

Screen based controls provide no tactile feedback and require you to take your eyes off the road to use them. I think physical buttons are great for not taking your eyes off the road. I know what each button feels like and I know where they are/where I need to reach. Touchscreens don't have good feedback in 90% of cars I've driven. I like my silly little Hyundai's buttons :))

I replaced the ancient touch screen in my 2013 tacoma with a chinese android one.I hate proprietary software from kenwood and pioneer and their stupid companion app bullshit. I hate that you need all this wire harness proprietary bullshit to use fucking steering wheel controls that should be usb. I hate that non touch radios have dedicated alexa or google buttons right in the middle of the damn thing so you're looking at an ad every time you want to hit fast forward.I fucking hate modern auto infotainment tech.

>>28109934My truck kinda does that too, vent angle and the thing to switch between single and dual-zone climate are in the screen, but everything else is a button. I've never really used auto climate in the past but I've gotten used to it now because it's too much of a pain to use the screen, especially because I've always got my phone connected with CarPlay and you have to exit out of that to get to the climate screen. It also "helps" me not need to go into the screen, in an annoying way, by having the weirdest balance ever, when you set the vents to dash+feet it sends like 90% of the air down and barely a trickle comes out of the dash, and living in a warm climate where I almost always have A/C on and rarely ever use the heater that's pretty damn useless for me.

After getting used to automatic climate control, going back to manual sucks now. All I need is a quick and easy way to adjust the temp up or down a few degrees and I'm good.
