https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a62919131/tesla-has-highest-fatal-accident-rate-of-all-auto-brands-study/>Tesla's vehicles have the highest fatal accident rate among all car brands in America, according to a recent iSeeCars study that analyzed data from the U.S. Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS). >The Tesla Model S has a rate more than double than average, at 5.8 per billion vehicle miles driven; meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y — the best-selling vehicle in the world has a fatal crash rate of 10.6, nearly four times the average. It ranked as the sixth worst vehicle overall.>The study's authors make clear that the results do not indicate Tesla vehicles are inherently unsafe or have design flaws. In fact, Tesla vehicles are loaded with safety technology; the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) named the 2024 Model Y as a Top Safety Pick+ award winner, for example. >So, why are Teslas — and many other ostensibly safe cars on the list — involved in so many fatal crashes? “The models on this list likely reflect a combination of driver behavior and driving conditions, leading to increased crashes and fatalities,” iSeeCars executive analyst Karl Brauer said in the report.tl;dr - tesla fanboys have no clue how to drive and think the car drives itself kek

>>28109363You're not wrong, but retard behavior is likely exacerbated by the perceived safety of the car; they believe that features like automatic braking and lane-keeping will prevent accidents, and thus feel more free to be negligent than they would in a vehicle without such features.
>>28109568Any sort of driver assist or safety feature has a tendency to make drivers overconfident. AWD lets idiots think their car is better on ice and snow just because they can accelerate without spinning the tires. But the "self driving" thing breeds a whole new level of idiocy.
Crazy how stark the dichotomy is on Tesla safety. There’s no middle ground. On one hand people are saying they’re safer, and how the autopilot shit is like ten times safer than human drivers. And on the other you have people saying it’s a straight up death trap, and the studies are fake.
>>28109362Used Teslas are going to be a total nightmare on the roads in a few years once all the Altimas and Chargers are finally exhausted. Too much speed and weight for the second or third owners who are picking them up now.
Good LMAO

modern driver aids are straight up AIDSI recently rented a 2025 model year RAM 1500.damn thing was like driving in a video gamewhile highway cruising i had auto brakes on, lane assist, lane departure, adaptive cruise control, etc engaged. all i had to do was control the following distance, and top speed limit with two buttons on the steering wheel.the truck drove itself.i would let go of the steering, it would slowly drift out of its lane, the lane monitoring would auto steer me back into the lane and i would slowly drift to the other side and the lane assist would steer me back. i didnt even have to hold the wheel, it would just keep bouncing me from one side of the lane to the other. it was pretty much full self driving mode. shit could even handle a light turn on the roads.the entire drive i never touched the gas or brake pedal, or had to give it any strong steering inputsimagine what what a novice driver would do learning on a modern car with all these assist and then getting into a car without one.just wait until it gets worse.

>>28109567This is what I was thinking. What other major car brand only sells cars with <4.5s 0-60 times? That being said, Tesla owners are the new Audi/VW drivers. Guaranteed to drive like complete cocksuckers are Tesla, VAG, lifted bro-trucks, and Nissans with tinted windows.

>>28110406Perhaps you should’ve eaten breakfast, anon. That poster is making the point that there is an increasing wave of Teslas on the market.
