Is the Ford F-150 the best truck currently? The year is almost over and I need a work vehicle write off so i don't get screwed so hard next year come tax season. I've never owned a truck, but i don't want to be one of those retards that pays 70k for a rapidly depreciating asset.2023-2024 low mileage used F150 seems the best route and bang for buck, and with the recession here and car sales plummeting it seems like i might be able to get a decent deal.
>>28706968>stx>rwdjust rope already
>>28706968Yeah I’d say it’s the best half ton atleast. I’d say if you are going for the “best” you go 3/4 ton
>>28706968Sadly the 5.0 F-150 is the best half ton option right now. I wouldn't touch a ecoboost but to each their own. Trucks in general have insane resale values which is why they don't make any sense to buy used. I bet there are a million brand new basic bitch trucks like that on the market for under $45k. Also watch out for dealers clearing out the old models for the new models. Some of them go for 15% off the MSRP. I'd second the 3/4 ton. They're the only modern trucks that are somewhat built to last unlike the lease queen 1/2 tons.
>>28706984If we're talking F-250s then we're in the 60-90k range for what amounts to a daily work driver for me with occasional dirt roads for work, I'm not sure i can justify that
the 10 speed transmission is absolute trash. Ram and Tundra are kind of OK options but they have their own less catastrophic issues.
>>28707047Your options, 4x4 obviously>5.0 F150>3.5 Powerboost F150>7.3 gas F250>6.7 diesel F250Honestly 7.3 and 5.0 are probably the best options. 6.7 is just crazy maintenance, but you can make it last million miles with religious carbon clean out and extra external oil filter.
>>28708513I've heard the 2.7s are resilient and hardly have issues compared to the others
You say you need a work vehicle but have never owned a truck. Why not just get a maverick hybrid awd with the tow package? You can get them for like $30k new, they're enough for work for most people, but they're basically a car and have the ease of owning a car.
>>28708773F150 is a more reliable business vehicle than a maverick. Don't get me wrong, maverick is a great little truck.
I’m getting a new ranger guys, not really hauling anything but as an electrician who does side work, do i really need the 2.7 or do i want it just because it go fast
Ford is the best but it's still going to depreciate 10-15k a year
>>28706968The Maverick is because it's the only one that's not a fucktarded bloatshit size.
>>28706968Downsized from tundra to a maverick. Fucking great if you don't need to haul a ton. Fun as fuck to drive. And boomers always stop and ask me what it is.
>>28706968get a kei truckbtw for fjords, what's the current over/under on goosetuned/5star/cobb accessport vs hp tuners vs ecutek?my buddy has a f350 but idk the engine. I only know JDM shit
>>28709970I went from an 8th gen accord to the Maverick and they feel very similar. Accord wasn't awful at handling but was mildly boaty and the maverick is the same way. Can still corner like a car and not feel like I'm going to die, and the hybrid feels way more nimble then my dad's ram 5.7L
>>28708513I love my 7.3 CCLB. Gobs of power, tons of space in the engine bay, sounds great, fridge in the center console. Fits my family of 5 in it like it's an SUV but can also tow 20k lb.
