Just sold the corpse of my first shitbox.
My new, nice car doesn't feel the same.
Tell me about your first loss, /o/

My beater e36 succumbed to rust. One of the rear subframe mounted got torn out of the body when I was just casually driving (a certified e36 moment), and that was the end of it. Surprisingly, that little fucker was dead reliable despite its horrific state, never left me stranded or anything.

I fear the day I have to get rid of my beloved shitbox. I will not be selling it. I will drive her to the very end and bring her to final resting place where she will be disected for whatever is salvagable.

It was a nice 1998 explorer sport, bought off some random asshat who parked it at a gas station.
He did not tell me it needed the timing chain guides replaced.
I replaced it with a 2003 expedition.
You can probably imagine what happened to that one.

I drove my first car (bought new) like it was stolen until I traded it in for a used version of the same companys executive car.

No sniggering at the back.

I'm not a judas like you, so I still have my first car, never sold it. Never will.

I bought a 1988 Chevy Celebrity wagon for $500 when I was 18. I had it for years, used and abused it as a junk hauler for dumpster diving, and learned a lot of early wrenching with that thing. Years later my then wife decided it had to go, so I sold it to a friend for $200 for his brother. That bastard took it to his mechanic who basically laughed at him and gave him $200 to scrap it. I wasn't happy since I hadn't even filled out paperwork yet and would've just taken it back.

I've never enjoyed seats like that car had, some sort of maroon velvet that was probably part of the Eurosport package and they were just so fucking comfy. The car itself was also a tank and would not stop going despite having so many little problems. In hindsight I should've figured out a way to keep it since it turned out to be more reliable than her.

>Daily a 2001 Corsa C, a genuine shitbox
>Suddenly get a job where I get to drive Mercedes EQC, Tesla Y and Xpeng G6 and similar vehicles at work
>Desire to replace the car basically disappear, just for how different the driving feel is

Late 90's, my 88 Cherokee threw a rod. Sold it to the beaner next door for $200. I've felt bad about that ever since, for both my neglect of care and letting her end up in some Mexican shithole. She deserved so much better.

a 2000 ford taurus SEL that i bought from my cousin for $1100. it had 2 12” subs in the trunk and a 1200w amp. sounded like ass, but to 16yo me it was cool. would do FWD neutral->drive burnouts in it all the time, its a miracle i never blew the transmission.

wrecked it twice, replaced with junkyard body panels each time. somehow always found silver body panels so it wasn’t a harlequin. sold it to a guy for $300, dunno what happened to it after that.

My first was a 98 Chevy Cheyanne, it was stolen by a hobo when my mom borrowed it for work one day because her car was broken down.
Second was a 98 Toyota T100. Stepdads nephew borrowed it while I was out of state, totaled it, and didn't tell us until we got the call from the impound lot and by then the fee to get it back was too high.

Some drunk bitch fell asleep at the wheel and buried her SUV into me, totaled my car and broke my back. Gained ~200lbs and spent several years learning to walk again, wouldn't recommend it.
