How many of these "for good use only" ALPRs are near you?

>6 near me on the way to work
>>
>>28708476
The hell is this? Yet another reason for me to avoid Jew York like the plague?
>>
>>28708476
I live near Albany and pass about 6 of these on the way to work.
>>
>>28708476
They are everywhere.
Even ordinary parking enforcement cars have them.
>>
>>28708476
the issue is that every police cruiser has them mounted in all directions on them now. so just by driving around you're getting picked up. and I assume that if your car doesn't get a good plate read, that's enough for the cop to pull you over and see if you've got filters on your plate.

Looks like they're all stationed around businesses around my house.
Theft deterrence.
>>
None. Ontario.
>>
>>28708476
None in my state. Automatic licence plate readers are illegal here
>>
>>28708476
0 for my commute. and 0 for most of the places that I normally go to. Feels good man.
>>
>>28708488
They're in every state and expanding rapidly. Faster than they can be regulated.
>>
What's the point of these things. Aren't they just scanning for stolen cars.
>>
>>28711104
They log your cars location, speed, your plate, and any identifying features (body style, color, scratches, bumper stickers, etc.) into a searchable database every time you pass one.

And they aren't particularly secure or reliable.

Just remember, gais, we are the free-est best-est country in the world! It's ok if we give up some of our freedoms for safety. Everything is for the best!
>>
>>28711113
You have no right to privacy when in public. A man standing on the corner with a pen and a camera can do the exact same thing.
>>
>>28711113
In all fairness, other countries are ahead of the curve on the speed camera/mass surveillance game. They're everywhere in Bongland, China's use face recognition. We're just playing catchup right now.
>>
>>28711106
All you have to do is break them and inform the public that you never gave your consent to be tracked, never signed an NDA, never agreed to have your likeness used for profit (especially since you didn't get any), and that this is a violation of your rights. But you'll lose those rights soon, regardless. But for now, you can legally break them down.
>>
>>28711113
The browns anon.
>>
>>28711115
These aren't all in public spaces, though. And you still need to give consent to being profited on.
>>
>>28708476
I don't understand what you people's problem with these cameras is. They're only used to stop criminals and are very good at that, if you're not committing a crime you have nothing to worry about.
>>
>>28711156
>They're only used to stop criminals
Except for all those times they gave false positives. Or those times when police officers used them to stalk people. Or when the local municipality doesn't know shit about security and and shithead can log in and access the database.

>home depot within 100 ft of a lowe's
kek, every time. why are they like this
>>
>>28711118
There's much easier ways to get shot by the police
>>
>>28711123
no you don't. That's why movies can film in public places and have random nobodies passing by in the background without needing to hunt down every single one and sign a contract with them. When you're in public, you inherently consent to other people noticing and remembering you.
>>
>>28711731
Retard
Any legit TV/movie production closes off the entire block while they're filming, blurs all the faces of people that they couldn't get release statements from, or makes a gamble that nobody in the scene is kosher enough to sue
>>
>>28711740
it depends on the scene. you can find scenes in movies where characters are walking around in the middle of Times Square in broad daylight, surrounded by thousands of people. do you think they shut down the busiest intersection in the world for half a day of filming and hired all those extras?

We need to start convincing tweekers that cameras are filled with precious metals. They'll cut them down as fast as they can be put up.

Highly suggest you all watching this. Nevermind if the dude sounds cringe, this video is on point about these fucking chinese security state cameras. I want to print out the same cutout but idk if it works / can put on a motorcycle

I live in the mountains and they installed one near my house since the road is an outlet from the city

It mysteriously kept getting destroyed

They replaced it three times and they learned their lesson and its no longer there
>>
>>28711163
>why are they like this
Brand loyalty, and they can steal non-loyal customers with specific sales.

Out of convenience, it's Ace Hardware and Harbor Freight for me. I'm literally less than 1/8 of a mile from one.
>>
>>28713806
based, i watched this video before it hit 200k views.
>>28708476
the closest one is in a mall or a highway overpass over 35 miles away. it feels good to live in theboonies.
>>
>>28713996
>they can steal non-loyal customers with specific sales
I used to work at lowe's and I found out they basically don't give a shit about non-pro customers. contractors are their main market and the vast majority of their sales figures come from the pro accounts that drop hundreds of thousands a year.
regular retail shoppers make up so little of a store's numbers that it's almost irrelevant.
>>
>>28711159
literally none of these have ever happened, stop making shit up. the cameras stop criminals, simple as. not a criminal? then shut the fuck up.

They're fucking dogshit bro. They don't care about creating a functional safety product, they just want to collect and sell the data.
>>
Fuck these things
>>
>>28714594
not reading those links. stop making things up.
>>
When we've reconquered the nation and ejected the oppressors, I'm going to use the databases they kept around to figure out who the apologists like the "ur in public u consent 2 be tracked" guy are and round them up. assuming they didn't get rounded up already since there's no being on the right side of authoritarianism, after all.
>>
i've got one walking distance from my house. i wonder about ways to disable these. every day i leave and come home from work and must pass this camera.
>>
>>28708476
Only two, both in a walmart parking lot.
>>
>>28714928
I'd image something as simple as a pellet gun could take one out. Spray paint. Angle grinder would cut through the pole in a minute.

lol. lmao, even.
They are everywhere in every state, there's probably some in your town
https://deflock.me/
>>
it's illegal for the government to spy on you, but somehow if a private company does it at the governments behest and then makes all of their data available to the government freely it all somehow becomes ok
I can only hope something major happens and this shit ends up in the supreme court
but given that the gov has a vested interest in continuing the status quo and having unrestricted access to literally everything this is so very unlikely
>>
as long as they aren't speed traps I don't give a fuck, there's so many crackheads with warrants out on the road, if this removes a few of them I don't give a shit.
it's bad enough there's police on the road how is this worse.
>>
>>28711731
stalking is an invasion of privacy. If I, as an individual did this, I’d be in jail. But somehow if you do it to everyone (so long as you cut in the government), then it’s A-ok!
It’s horseshit wrapped in pilpul totalitarianism.
>>
>>28714928
angle grinder or use dense foam and fill it up.
>>
anyone arguing in defense of this is only doing it to be a contrarian and get their online debating high.nobody wants this

diablo 18-22TPI carbide tipped 7 1/4" blade on a battery powered saw works perfectly if they're on the black aluminum poles. they're hollow inside.
>>
>>28715401
Callous business owners want this
>>
>>28711156
I think these cams are gonna be used as the backbone for when the push out digital id with a social credit like in china. They want everyone tracked so they can slowly cull us off.
