>>28709119But it's again enduro-ish. For example I don't want offroading, I need to get to another country 1.5k km away on a highway next year. So I'm forced to buy a sport tourer from 2000-2010s because I don't want to tour on naked and sport bikes. Alternative is to live the rest of the year with a heavy bike that I don't need.
>>28709118Having that additional weight is good for a highway bike
>>28709128If you just want a commuter/touring bike, just get the fucking versys or Transalp. 50lbs more than a Rebel 500, and both have good options for hauling your shit.If you're obsessed with less weight, suck it up and settle for the Versys 300x, but you are basically exactly why they made the versys.

Hello guys, I want to buy a used bike, F850GSA, and this time it's from a used bike dealership. They seem like they are pretty reputed, they even encourage third party mechanic checking the bike before buying it, the thing is it's in a different city, I can't take my mechanic with me. In the past, while buying the used bike, I do the basic checks myself, then I ask the owner to bring the bike to dealership, the mechanic there checked it and he gave a go. But this time, I'm not sure I can take the bike from the used bike dealership to BMW's dealership. What do I do?

>>28709455You can buy a liter bike as your first bike as a teenager. Some states don't have helmet laws. There's a lot of Boomers that ride a thousand miles a year, if that so despite having 30 years of riding experience, they're pretty ass. And most of all, Europe doesn't suffer from the nigger problem like America does and outdated farm equipment has never had foresight and causal relationships as a strong suit.
>>28709455like most things, they do it the retarded wayyou can get a bike, any bike, after a fucking weekend "class". After a couple hours a young kid can go buy a turbo busa In Europe for example (idk how it is in japan) you can ride a 50cc scooter at 14 if you take your riding permit (with classes). You can then take classes to ride a restricted bike (48hp or less) when you are 18. And only after 23 years old, after having been a 48hp rider since 18, can you get your unrestricted license. And btw these licenses aren't just a weekend shit. It takes months. It has theory classes. It has riding classes, over 20 hours of riding over all sorts of conditions. Then you have exams for both theory and riding. For the riding exam you ride like 1 hour long where 2 instructors follow you around and if you do any mistake you gotta take more classes.having said all this the reason for those statistics are obvious
>>28709455general lack of driving education and less driving rules, plus the fact that everyone drives worse affects motorbike users disproportionally as what would be a minor crash in a car can be a fatality if a motorbike is involved, and motorbikes are at the behest of car users' mistakes tooThe fact that in europe you have very twisty roads and also use manuals also probably forces you to pay more attention as a car driver and be less likely to kill a biker, and it also slow downs bikers with a deathwish
>>28709470in my country in Europe it works this way>15 year oldAM License: Max 45cc (expect 50kph/30mph top speed)>16 year oldA1 License: Max 125cc and 15bhp, no sidecar allowed (expect 100kph/60mph top speed)You automatically can ride A1-limited bikes after owning a regular car driving permit for 2 years.>18 years oldA2 License: No cc limit, 48 bhp limit and 0,2kW/kg limit. You can buy a higher bhp bike with a limiter and still use it with this permit.>20 years old, after having had A2 license for 2 yearsA license: No cc limit, no bhp limit. You still need a written test, its not given automatically for A2 holders after 2 years.
>>28709479>You automatically can ride A1-limited bikes after owning a regular car driving permit for 2 years.I was gonna use this shit as a car driver but turns out regulations like this are countries specific and not general for EU although I remember every dog boasting how "homogenized EU laws are". So here I am taking ridiculously expensive classes to ride a motorcycle and doing the tests. Again. After already knowing the rules.

zoomer riders weigh in: is there any kind of unc stigma about motorcycles in 2025? i've seen a couple videos recently about how the average age of a motorcyclist is now ~45 when it used to be ~30 back in 1990. as an old, i still think of it as a youthful person's activity but has that changed? do your peers think it's weird that you ride or are into bikes? zero coolness or aura anymore?

A year in, and I used to roll my eyes every fucking time I heard or saw "cager", but God help me... I'm beginning to hate people.in cars.I don't even think it is their fault. Man was not meant to operate heavy machinery with all the bullshit we have now distracting us
>>28709705I'm too old to answer your question but I'm curious as well because the younger generation is increasingly viewing driving as a chore and I heard the average age of driving is going up fast with most of younger z opting for urban living in a walkable city and alternative transportation like trains and personal electric vehicles like ebikes, escooters, eboards, onewheels, etc. A growing amount of them are environmentally conscious to the point they see through the bullshit of an oil dependent society too and by rejecting big oil and big autos vision, they automatically achieve theirs
>>28709751Also, my question really was, I'm aware that gen z is pushing away from cars but how do they view bikes?
>>28709705None of them have dads so riding is out of the question since they are raised by women (risk averse) and nobody can teach them how to operate a manual transmission. You look like a superhero to them.

>>28709705>>28709751>>28709753I see these conversations all the time and the concept feels very alien to me but that's because I love in Texas and it's damn near impossible to get anywhere without a motorized vehicle. I do see some scooters and e bikes in the not populated areas and public transport is getting better here but it's a small segment of the population. I'm all for it though. The streets are way too crowded so less drivers is a good thing for us.

It's of course good rubber lube because it does no damage.

>>28709319>- Check battery voltage more than 12.7Then perform a charging system test by starting the bike then noting running voltage at the battery. A vehicle may have a charged battery but that doesn't always mean the charging system works as it should. Verification takes a few seconds.Download (preferably the factory) a service manual beforehand so you know exactly what to inspect. Get any factory parts catalog too as they complement the service manuals. It never hurts to research your prospective purchase, Many used bike electrical problems are simple to fix but sellers may not know that.

I miss bikesI used to ride when i lived in East asia. Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia. All great for riding. Philippines and Japan not so much. But what i miss most of all aren't riding big bikes, it's riding small bikes. Honda Wave 125, Daelim Citi 110, Yamaha Exciter T150. Semi automatic bikes like the Honda cub.I'm in Australia, and looking at Honda supercub NBC110 motorbikes on Facebook marketplace for $2000 dollarydoos. I don't want an older CT110, I want modern fuel injection. Any other recommendations for underbone semi auto bikes? Also, the new Aus post vehicle replacing the supercub...

why don't the honda 500 twins have a touring variant? i guess you could put rebel 1100 bags and fairings on a 500 and call it a day but it seems kind of a waste to not try and make a silverwing successor

What bike would you buy new to keep it forever at least for more than 15 years or so? My top 3:R1MCBR600RRGSX-R750I kinda want the 600RR, but IDK if I can live with a sportbike, it seems so unnecessary for city streets.

I'm choosing between Vstrom 650 and NC750X as a first motorcycle. Can anyone help me with the decision and why? I most certainly did ask this question on chatgpt but disliked the answer.
>>28710874The wr450r doesn't exist. The wr450f does. The wr450f is basically a YZ motor with different cams. It isn't meant to live very long between rebuilds. If I had to pick a dual-sport 450, I'd pick a crf450L, vortex ECU and decat exhaust, and then follow oil changes/valve checks RELIGIOUSLY, and it would live a very long time. I believe only Honda divorces the gearbox and engine oil in their 450 motor and that gets a lot of points for reliability.
>>28710893Why would you trust any of your decision making to a hallucinating excel spreadsheet? You're retarded, so get something slower and lighter like an mt03/z300/z400 for a year or so first.
