I still haven’t learned to back park and parallel park.
>>28710621Are you a woman ?
>>28710621back parking is easymake sure your rear wheel is at the edge of the parking spotturn the steering wheel in the direction away from the parking spot and go for about a lane's widthnow straighten the wheel and drive until you're almost touching the parking spotnow turn the wheel fully towards the parking spot and watch your rear view mirrors so you don't hit the cars next to youif anyone can help me understand parallel parking and lay it out like i just did it would be appreciated since i have no idea how to do it
parallel parkingmove up next to a car about 2/3 of its length or 1/2 if its a larger vehicle, back of your car needs to be a bit further behind the car you’re pulling up next to.Turn the wheel all the way first, then reverse into the spotAround when your rear view mirror on the passenger side meets the corner of the back bumper of the car you’re parking behind, straighten the wheels and reverse a little. then stop, turn the wheels in the complete opposite direction fully, and reverse into the spot. straighten out as needed by turning the wheels all the way and doing little shifts forward and back. I made this up in a jiffy. go practice on the street. You’ll figure it out since it feels different for every car
>>28710627>>28710886not op but how do you do some of this in an automatic?i learned in a manual and was taught to never turn the steering wheel and hold the brake at the same time, which is easy to do in a manual cause you can just hold the clutch down and not move, but an automatic starts to roll as soon as you lift off the brake, so i try to spin the wheel as quickly as possible but still end up usually going too wide on my first attempt
>>28710621what do you mean learn?just park your carit's not hard
>>28710960>i learned in a manual and was taught to never turn the steering wheel and hold the brake at the same time, which is easy to do in a manual cause you can just hold the clutch down and not move, but an automatic starts to roll as soon as you lift off the brakeWhoever taught you told you what to do but not why. You aren't supposed to steer when the car is still because it'll flat spot your tires.
>>28710621just practice in an empty parking lot>>28710886i drive to where im roughly at their rear wheel most of the time

>>28710621if you've ever driven a forklift reverse parking is intuitive, since in a forklift the rear wheels steer. your car becomes much more maneuverable in that orientation.parallel parking takes more practice, get some cones and find a parking lot. I mastered parallel parking when I lived in an apartment and parked on the street, and later realized it's actually a pretty rare skill and I'm the only person I know who can do it without a million back-and-forth adjustments. Except for my dad of course.
>mfw I can easily back park and parallel park pretty easily.>front parking makes me nervouswtf is wrong with me
>>28711016also the power steering has to work really hard because tyres want to rotate a bit when you turn them
>>28710621I realised I live in a mostly white town when noticing more cars at the supermarket car park are reverse parked
>>28711138it's pretty normal, especially if you are in a low car, have to estimate where exactly the nose starts or rely on the car next to you
>>28710621I learned how to parallel park for my driving testBut i havent used it once(1) since then so i forgottenAnd idk how to back park ;-;
>>28711184That must mean whites are low IQ retards because your trunk isnt facing the road when you want to put your groceries in kek.
parallel parking is a pretty useless skill unless you live in a city and are forced to street parking. cityfags deserve what they get tho.
>>28711347there's enough space behind the car to get stuff in, or just put it in the back seats
