Why is (((Firestone))) like this?
>>
i bet you could find a brake kit from a reputable manufacturer for your car on rockauto for <$300 which would include front and rear rotors / brake pads. this is insane

I let it get worse than I should have, I'll admit, but that doesn't change the lunacy of these charges.

You're driving a large ass vehicle Anon, it's fucking expensive, get a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla if you want the maintenance to be reasonable.

It is what it is Anon, vehicles are fucking expensive if you're not gonna fix em yourself, it's bullshit but that's life.

>weak battery
Probably has 1-2 years left depending in the environment, shops have an incentive to take still functional batts and shove them off to a "recycler" who just conditions, then swaps the worst plates and exchanges the acid.
Batteries are like tires, you pay that fee for "recycling" and they end up in a street used tire shop resold for $35-$50. So you paid to have them sold to someone who sells them again.
>brakes all around
Rears last 80-100k miles, hell the rotors on my rear are still the factory units at 150k.

Stop being dumb.

A buyer has the choice to purchase parts from a reputable manufacturer from a merchant, such as purchasing Akebono brake pads from rockauto

The real question is what parts did they put on. I put PowerStop coated rotors and Z36 pads on my QX80 for around $800 in parts. You can also find chinkshit AutoShack parts for around $200.

Also i'm not sure what the fuck Brake Hardware Front is for $900.

Lmao lipstick on a pig, but this lipstick is made from the discarded burnt fryer oil solids from a greasy mcdonalds.
>>
>>28711190
Powerstop brake pads are pretty based, especially the Z23/Z26 compound, it takes some heat in them to make em work really well compared to regular OEM pads but the stopping distance is way better when you're driving, and they don't dust like a semi-metallic.

>Why is (((Firestone))) like this?
Some of these shops also try to sell you unneded services such as "Your Catalytic Converter is bad. You need to replace it to be legal." A Firestone service center tried that on my many years ago. I have not ever tried to visit one of those shops ever again. I felt they were dishonest to me.

>2008 Ford Expedition

here's all the parts and tools you would need to do this yourself
I've always used a c-clamp to compress the pistons when changing pads but you might as well splurge for the dedicated tool if you are going to save yourself ~1800 bucks

also the battery would be way cheaper and easier to get from walmart, but im not going to combine two screenshots

I doubt easier since he's already at Firestone.
Costco sells interstates for a reasonable price and I've always had good luck with them. Cheap batteries are never worth it in my experience.
Also, add a jack, stands and a breaker bar/socket set and a mechanics toolset, and you're still way ahead. Then have all those tools.

Consider yourself lucky bro, you could have it a lot worse
>>
>>28712493
I meant easier than ordering one through rockauto
interstate is just johnston controls batteries, and walmart are east penn/deka AFAIK
really all you are paying for with a battery these days is the warranty, and a walmart platinum AGM is 4 yrs and the costco interstate AGM is only 3 years for typically around the same price
and the fact there's a walmart in every town means it's pretty easy to switch them out

I would agree whatever the dogshit value branded walmart batteries are essentially disposable boat anchors that I would never rely on
and yeah, you could get a full set of tools from harbor freight and a jack+stands and a toolchest in your favorite color with all the extra cash
