How difficult would it be to automatic-swap an AZ-1? (Third-worlders here to cope about their obsolete busywork transmission being "more fun" need not reply)

>>28714959Firsties need not buy this car. They get filtered by skill issue.
>>28714959if you gotta ask- you can't and won't do it
>>28714959A weekend and a pack of beer
>>28714959With enough money and time anything is possible. Good luck finding an automatic the size of a basketball that would bolt up, though. Maybe tremec will make you one.
>>28715507I personally can't and won't, was more asking to see if it's something I could pay a decent shop to do or if it would be entirely infeasible
remember when bait threads used to be good

ZF 4HP22 and 24 boxes are pretty cheap and common, you could fit one of those in there easily and they give you a bit of tuning potential too, especially with the 4HP24, it can take a fair bit of torque
>>28716178Automatics haven't been slower in decades
>>28714959
>>28714959AZ-1s are basically just backwards Alto Works so you could probably take the transmission off an i.e/S variantThe ratios would probably be so close for the DOHC
>>28714959>Locate Impala SS in scrap yard>pull the drivetrain >weld up some mounts>Enjoy V8 power with a comfy auto transmissionThat would be the shrimplest way to do it
>>28716196>in decadeslmao, try driving any pre-8hp era automatic and tell me how they are as fast as manuals. quick and intelligent automatic are a recent invention, up until the 2010s manual was the go-fast option, hence why a lot of hardcore performance cars were manual-only.
>>28714959is it the car from back to the future?
>>28716645No, that was a chopped and lovered Cybertruck.
