the world's best selling SUV
>but make it bad
>for $40k

https://youtu.be/nHwTB883Z7A?t=1549

>225kw charging instead of 250kw
>no glass roof
>no automatic mirrors
>garbage tier frunk
>cloth seats
>no physical seat adjustments
>no rear LCD screen for passengers
>literally steelies with hubcaps
>single pane glass on doors
>no rear light on door
>old rounded glass on rear tailgate
>no subsidized FSD
>no ventilated seats
>slower internal Qi1 wireless charging for phones
>doesn't even have autosteer without paying $8000 for FSD

is this Elon's "spite the investors" vehicle? It's pretty well known that he pushed back against making a cheaper Tesla in favor of the Cybercab
>>
In a lot of ways it's actually better than a "premium" Model Y. The only crap they got rid of was useless junk anyway. It looks better, the covered up moonroof will keep it cooler in the summer, and even though range is down it's not a huge amount.
>>
Teslas are cheap horrible cars.
Remember, if they were gas powered, nobody would buy them.
>>
>>28732822
Good car for getting your life together with. Not that /o/ would know what that's like.
>>
>>28732886
People who have their life together is getting a BMW.
>>
>>28732822
Listen, I think EVs and Telsa's are shit, but some of these gripes are retarded:

>>>cloth seats
More comfortable than fake leather in both summer and winter.

>>no rear LCD screen for passengers
Oh god, please think of the poor passengers and the horror that they might not have a screen in their face for a short while

>>literally steelies with hubcaps
Good. Worshiping fancy alloy wheels is the car equivalent of obsessing over $200 Nikes.

>>no subsidized FSD
>>>doesn't even have autosteer without paying $8000 for FSD
Stop being a fag and just drive, idiot.
>>
>>28732886
>Good car for getting your life together with.
it's a $40,000 EV, why would anybody who's trying to "get their life together" spend that much money?
>>
>>28732905
Lol okay amir, a tesla is still better and faster
>>
>>28732881
If a gas powered sub 3's 0-60 car that sold for 50k existed, it would be a darling of /o/tist channels everywhere.
>>
these are going to be great used
less shit to go wrong means less shit to fix or get damaged by the previous owner
>>
>no HW5/AI5
anybody buying this is a fucking rube if they're trying to get FSD eventually, HW4 is already like 2 or 3 years old isn't it?
>>
>>28732822
>>no glass roof
>>cloth seats
these are good changes though.

Significantly more than 50k and also can't realistically do 0-60 in 3 seconds outside of a prepped drag strip.
>>
>>28733151
It's still has the glass roof, though. They just covered it with cloth for some reason.
>>
I feel like people would be willing to sacrifice a lot of features if a cheap EV just had amazing charging speed, a lot of range, and loads of power. Keep all the essentials of a good EV and keep the rest basic and simple.
>>
>>28732822
based version I like it
>>
>>28732822
That's not an SUV, quite frankly that's a joke and ugly.

good job ranjesh and his extended family, here's your 0.0001 jeet dollar for your defending the cause of Tesla
>>

>Good car for getting your life together with.
That's called a Toyota Prius or Toyota Sienna. The Prius costs nothing to run and the Sienna can hard carry your life.
>>
>>28733930
Siennas are comically overpriced new and used. It is literally cheaper to get a Chevy work van.
>>
>>28733938
>Siennas are comically overpriced new and used.
Just a few years they weren't. People are paying any price possible for them for some reason. The moment they are approved for a 120 month car loan, they think paying $36k for a 100k mile Sienna is totally okay and set themselves up to pay double for it anyways. Dealers still mark up the new Siennas. It's got Singaporean Toyota Tax.

The Chevy Express is cheaper if you don't drive very much. Those things drink gas like a group of spinsters, but their longevity is equally proven.
>>
>>28732881
A combination of acceleration, HP, and not being a fucking shoebox on the inside sealed the deal.

Its just a fucking repeat of why the Toyota Prius outcompeted the Honda Accord, by a extreme metric.
>but what if
>fuckhuge family car
>but it actually drove well
>is one of the markets cheapest in terms of gas money
>and the entry height wasn't completely retarded, unlike something like the BZ4X
>and it has a large enough battery that you can drive to the next state over, without wanting to KYS

>>28732876
No.
It exist to have somewhere to keep funneling spare parts, in order to ensure the vanilla Y and vanilla 3 will remain a good chance of a proper service lifespan for the second hand market.
>>
>>28733590
That trunk is massive though. Its sedan appareance is actually why I like it. SUVs look so massive being lifted like that.
>>
>>28733231
Every time the EV F150 Lightning pops up there are Boomers commenting that they want it to return to a coyote with a whipple. They want Ford to make a sports car slower because they want it to be louder.
>>
Anti-EV sentiment is mostly retarded.
>muh charge speed
Only applies to road trips
>muh range
Non-issue; charge at home
>muh fires
25 EV fires per 100k sold vs over 1,000 per 100kbICR vehicles sold. ICE fires are WAY more common and it’s not even close.
>they can turn your car off remotely
Not an EV issue
>I hate new thing because… I just do, ok?!
Not an argument
>>
>>28735470
New cars are shit. Simple as.

For that money you might as well get a fully loaded Camry with awd which I think is the same price
If it was let's say 25 to 30 that would have been a different story
Will still be popular with fleets around the world though
>>
I don't understand the appeal of a Tesla. For that price you can get a loaded Honda CR-V, which is superior in terms of utility and comfort.
>>
>>28739713
If you don't care about a car and want something that will get you to the a to b Tesla model3/y is the way to go imho if you want electric
Probably Camry/RAV4 if you don't want electric but Camry is not available in some markets
For a couple of years Model y outsold Corolla for good reason
