Anons how do you decide and organize a "biggish" trips?

I think i kinda have a fear for traveling, i have all these ideas of going places and go touring but i always chicken out unless i perfectly know the road and where i'm going and all in minute details.
I bought a bike to also try being more adventurous and one of the things i kinda wanted to do was ride in a desert and for europe that would mean go to Andalusia. and that is a big trip for summer vacations (shortest and quickest route is almost 2000km) so it's a bit too much for me right now.
I'll probably just go back to Italy instead but i guess i can try tour trough the boot a bit to gain some confidence.

How would you prepare for a solo round trip like that Spain adventure? ADV dad says that you should aim for around 500km of travel a day and decide for one or two "big stops" (where you actually book a hotel or something in advance instead of just searching last minute when you are getting tired/the sun is going down) where you stay more than a day and from where you can take a one day trip or stay a day off from the saddle while enjoying the place.

Was it autism? Who gives a shit.
Unless you have agoraphobia I don't understand why you care whatsoever. Just ride till you're tired and then stop and eat and sleep.
Find a motel or whatever to sleep at every 6 hours of riding distance or whatever hours you're comfortable with.

Is this a European thing. I've driven from St. Louis to San Diego in a single stint, which is like the equivalent of Lisbon to Warsaw.
>>
My shift lever fell off trapping me in 5th gear. I ended up having to start the bike at lights in 5th gear from a dead stop wiI? a 2 minute 0 to 30 until it seemed to enter a neutral state and stopped moving at all. How fucked am i?
>>

I just fucking go and figure shit out as it happens. One time I left my house with no idea what I wanted to do that morning and ended up traveling through four different states over three days.

>Is this a European thing. I've driven from St. Louis to San Diego in a single stint, which is like the equivalent of Lisbon to Warsaw
It might also be an european thing, you americans are used to drive for double/triple the distance to do basically anything so you immediately get used to it even when little and being in the backseat of the family car.

>>28734127
my father can do the same but i literally can't even do a little trip without checking the nav even before leaving the house. if it's first or second time i get paranoid a bit and i need the reassurrance, third time i use it but only watch it if i'm a bit unsure of some turns or when is the exit and from then on i won't even use it.

I think i just need to bump my head into that kind of traveling a bit before my dumbass learns that i can do that too and it's nothing to worry about but maybe
>>
I just need a scooter-like motorcycle that's fast af because the roads out here are long and fast but I also want to use it to go get the mail 1 handed

I'm not sure what we're in competition for exactly, but I have been informed that we all die if we lose.
>>
>>28733944
There's either a screw on the side of the can hidden by a little rubber plug that you remove to pull the baffle, or it's held in by a snap ring at the exit hole and you remove the snap ring and then pull it out.

Thats fuck all, thats like going to work for our country hehe

Be thwnkful youre in europstan ehere there is critical infrqstructure and amneties damn near everywhere you get lost, and no shortage of extreme climate on proper season, very mild climate for the most part if youre not caught in a storm

Best advice is have deep pockets just incase or if you bitch out whilst rained on and all your gear is soaked and youll be wet miserable amd cold bwcause you forgot to forgo travelling in a storm or something
Other than that, pack light, bring 5L of water on you if you dont plan on refreshments at every gas station, best to just pace yourself, hopefuly you have an iron buttcheek because itll come down to creature comforts if there is any trials before you, but they all cone to pass
Also know your limits, get practice riding with a load and in various extremes like cold and rain mostly, have a plan to evade every cager you meet; lucky for you its not jeet cdl season, but failing to plan is planning to fail
You can go as long and as far as you want; if youre camping then gice yourself a setup/teardown window
Cant emphasize toiletries and hygeiene and maybe water purification methods and other things
A backpack with all your go to shit during a pitstop and more travel gear/layers in the back with some essentials or extra food
Remember, commit and ride out the storms, dont get stuck without deep pockets, ride somethinf reliable etc.
>>

>>
>>28734317
thanks shoomer, rinding under rain i'm used to now, and i always pack light even when travelling normally and the husqvy seat is super comfy compared to the beta, i was talking more about deciding roads/how to organize pacing and how to not go crazy if you try to book it and go full highway for hours like i did last time. i think last year the biggest toll was my morale that luckily got refilled on day two.
Like is it wise to just reach whatever is the destination asap and then take it easier once you are in the fun zone or it's better to prepare an itinerary where i have more little destinations so that i can take it slow and still not "waste time"?

i guess having company would make this so much easier,i need my own tip-toe-style group
>>
>>28734317
>17 hours on the road is fuck all
Man, I know people wax poetic about journey and not the destination, but there had better be a good fucking reason to spend two working days on the road in my part of the world. I can only stare at so many rows of fucking crops.

Nta but my issue is getting into offroad riding and having fears about
Stuck in some shit I can’t get out of
Bike breaks down very far from help
Fall and get hurt innawoods

The one that gets me the most is 1, just getting into something gnarly and then not being good enough to get out or having to spend a ton of effort to do so. I know guys like hard enduro pursuing exactly that feeling as well as the pride of getting out in one piece. I’ve experienced that, it’s legit, but man I think it just stresses me out too much sometimes
>>
>>28734188

>>
>>28734350
Put a foldable e-tool and a comealong in your saddlebags. Carry one of those emergency alert GPS devices hikers use and a 1st aid kit, maybe join a riding club and go out with buddies. Any potential danger has a mitigating factor, and riding innawoods isn't wingsuit basejumping or spelunking tier risk:reward tier.
>>
>>28734336
>deciding roads
You dont decided that, only the gas station does and your fuel capacity travel radius
If youre at a gas statiom, detour 30 mins and see what trail that puts you at, at half tank time to header back or camp unless you brouhht jerry cans

Also if we are talking dualsporb then DONT OVERPACK AND KILL YOUR BRAPPER like me, the fool, at that point might as well have taken the truck
But youre europ, you can probably grt away with half my setup

>prepare an iteneary
Yes and no. My experience taught me to shoot for a lower expectation because ive had mechanical shitshows due to my luck and extremes
And it always seems to be i find a place i want to go back to
In my opinion either commit to a offroad destination and dick around there or be satisfied with whatevrrs next to the highway
You always meet people who know the road less traveled
This was my favorite experience road because my bike was kill but i didnt give any fugs and i found out about it from 2 bros on bikes while taking the ferry

There are tons of places where i want to tour and see for the first time, i really regret not having a fishing setup, but its like fuck i keep having ideas where its better to have taken the truck
>time budget constraints
If this is you, take your total travel iteniary and travel time alotment and shave it by 1/3 or 1/2 in the final edit process
Even with a smaller route id think you would be happy within a travel radiua of a new area if you just explore it
Like i went to canmore for a wedding, stayed the night and came back later that summer last year and had a blast revisting different parts that i knew of but checked off for next time
When i travelled to kelowna that year for first time, i also returned to several places including the lodging this year, and again i have more places i want to go to and see along the way
Southern bc by the border was a fuckin blast too when i was passing back up throuhh to invermere after staying in castlegar
So many cool town

I mean granted ive done those trips but in cars, it makes no sense to ride after your fatigued andnit gets dark or vice versa if yoire nightrider club
Unless youre hellbent 1%er cracked out on meth, why tale the risk?
I can do about 1200-1500km on a bike if i floor it and sustain above 150kph weather permitting
If youre average speed is 100kph or so itll be more comfy too
Sometimes the speeding gains on overall time are nullified of you burning more fuel, theres also a sweet spot for smaller diaplacement bikea and weight of rider and ger as far as fuel efficiency
And yeah fuel efficiency and comfort are probably the top on list of priorities when looking at the trip scope of challenges, i camt wait to tour with the zx14r, but im getting the feeling ill be missing out on off road experiences so i kinda want a different trip ideal altogether
The crf much more suitable on the hitch of a truck, the zx14r will get me places in style and comfort and speed so id probanly pack more minimalistic and the hardcore survival gear and workshop of tools and 10 outfits i brought last time

Reflecting back, i hate looking at this overloaded poor red guy hahaha, poor bike

I think i'll still drive down to Italy but i'll definetly try to make it a proper tour instead of just going around my old town and riding to the nearby cool places adv dad reccomends so that at least i have the safety net of being in a country that i speak the language of...
And i could still book it from there and go to Slovenia or Croatia very easily after all and make it a proper little adventure.

I’m not trying to traumakit or macguyver anything. I have a minimal toolkit and have had to use it a couple times mostly getting shit out of the chain guide/area.
I just get out far, see some sketchy shit and like yeah i can probably get through it but can i make it back over it if i need to and is it gonna get worse up ahead? And that thinking stresses me out
Probably time to switch to some more offroad oriented tires than the 50/50s I ride.

Yeah, I cannot imagine that on a bike seat. Back when I worked for a (probably mentally ill in hindsight) small business owner, I had to drive emergency parts from Houston to Colorado Springs by the end of a 2nd working day. As in leave after noon on a Tuesday, and get the part before closing time Wednesday, and then I was expected back with the company truck and credit card before closing on Friday. And I will never, ever do that shit again.

What were they supposed to do? Gaslight everyone that it isn't a problem and the premature failure was somehow your fault? Every major manufacturer has had some problems with their suppliers. "Obviously" they should have done more testing and obviously they should have just replaced the bearings in the first recall since they cost like nothing compared to shop time.

What is the most Japanese bike that was NEVER influenced by American or European culture?

here a few examples of the opposite

>xsr900gp - kenny, gp livery, american magnet on two wheels
>ninja - american people only know ninjas so we name it a ninja hehe
>fireblade - americans love fire and cool names like firebird
>sv650 - bscially a Ducati Monster
>katana - designed by a german guy

So what is the PUREST Japanese bike that was meant to appeal to Japanese people only?

I'm a full-time Yamaha shill and an R7 is a better bike both for the streets and track althought the ZX4R has more soul.
You can put it this way:
R7 had to change and adapt to fit in a new norm. It got bigger, and now it's faster and more easy to ride that the old 400cc bikes from 30 years ago.
ZX4R refused to change and it got slower because of the regulations.
You can't blame neither, it's modern vs oldschool, fun vs soul.

Your brain has a phenomenon called Nueral Plasticity, it's real and no its not barred by age.

First you need to be accurately diagnosed which is hard however when this is accomplished you get prescribed specfic stuff that targets the specfic spots in your brains hardware that's lacking/under performing and assists that specfic spot(s) you consistently take this supplement medication for a duration of time and once your brain "grows" to a more healthy/productive state then you begin to wean off the medications as prescribed by the mental health professional.

You aren't locked into a forever subscription for meds, only very specfic illnesses are handled that way (such as schizophrenia who NEED the stuff to remain grounded in realility)
I'm convinced I have undiagnosed adhd so I looked into this shit before partaking and despite all the noise surrounding mental health treatment, it's an objective good. We could be geniuses cockblocked by our receptors and nervous system.

It almost felt like I wasn't scared of riding anymore, I wasn't scared of anything at the time. Even when I had to ride somewhere at night in the rain - I was ok with it, no hesitation, no overthinking, no fear. I was in control and always ready to go.

Now I don't even wanna ride for fun because I'm scared of an accident, I'd rather have my fun at home playing games. Can gaming and ethernet detox do the trick again or was it just a coincidence?

Which apps, if any, do you guys use to meed riders in your area?

I'm using Ride With Me (non-premium) and have the feeling it's mostly knuckleheads, a few boomers, a few chicks and some normies.
Nobody ever initiates conversations and it's always the same guys blogposting the same fucking bikes in the feed.

What are your experiences?

Turn all of your screens to monochrome colors (grey, black, white). Do not have any color. It will help.
No short form content. Period. It will accelerate your problems ten fold.
Certain foods can help but don't fix anything so if you eat twinkies and chug Mt dew then you need to rework that.

Risk adversion on the otherhand is a you problem, mental health conditions be damned. You knew the risk getting on two wheels, you either accept this and strategize/work around this objective truth or you throw in the towel or just ignore the potential damage and break yourself foo'

Remember that faith based hospitals still use modern medicine, modern treatments, and modern professionals to care their patients. They don't tell you to bite a stick and pray for healing, only third worlders do that.

There's a youtube guy riding enduro on Africa Twin. And he has a video where he takes part in a 30min dirt race among dozens of dirt bikers. He starts last but overtakes everyone easily and finishes among the first.

So why dirt bikes even exist if a large adventure bike smokes them in their own category?

Probably not so my argument with the police/judge will be that the hi-viz green is safer than plain white for a variety of reasons.
Worst case scenario is that I'll be given a warning for a first offense.

Do you guys use any specific app to track your trips through GPS ? Say you're just exploring an area and want to make sure you keep a log in case you wanna revisit some of those places

Ive heard both OsmAnd and Organic Maps allow you to "record" your trip which leaves the app drawing your route on the map as you move, dunno if any other GPS apps have this

I live in the police state of Victoria where police like to find new and fun ways to punish people, but I passed a police car this morning and they didn't give chase which is a good sign.
I was admiring my reflection on the back of cars and vans and the hi-viz green really stands out. I feel much more visible now. Definitely worth the twenty bux that I paid.

Gentlemen, my ‘04 Sportster has a stator that is showing a shot-to-ground issue according to my multimeter. The dash will through up a battery and check engine light, the diagnostic code shows charging issue.

I don’t have a ramp or a trailer, and pulling the stator myself is an issue (no time or space right now). What would the effect of riding with a shorting stator be beside draining the battery dead?

Let my friends cousin who claimed to ride himself ride my XT250, he then proceeded to destroy the clutch constantly riding at 20mph in 4th gear and starting the bike in that order, and then slammed the brakes into a turn which caused him to slide off the bike and have it fall and then destroy the brake lever requiring an entire new lever housing, meaning I will have to pump new brake fluid and then replace the clutch plates. Honestly im kind of excited bros, I now have an excuse to get a faster sports baik I've always wanted, im.18 and this was my only ride, but 2 or 3 months of picking up a McJob I'll have a ninja 500 or something similar

I never did that, reread the quoted text
"Thinks missing an arm is the same as a spiritual disturbance of the soul"
That would be referring to you and your false equivallency fallacy here:
"fact of the matter is you can't pray to have a missing arm to regenerate and therefore you can't just pray to repair neural damage"
Just because you wana project your narcissism onto a principle foundation of faith; that your mind soul and spirit are indeed NOT THE BODY, despite utilizing the same functioning body for synapse, memory, muscle control, conscious and unconscious thought and faculty- just because you want to reject that doesnt make me anything you want it to be nor does it make you correct in any regard
I never brought up faith based hospital or healthcare; you did, whats that have to do with psychology and spirituality in conjunction with habits and in specific PRAYER AND FASTING
Prayer is pretty open ended interpretation
Fasting is not
I said you can do both or either originally. Which fasting is the absence of things from food to enjoyable means of pursuit of happiness or addictions or the substances in question
Maybe get your head checked on that note, you fail to understand the premise od my logic and just projectile vomit your filth onto everything around you
>muh one up sweet summer child
What is this, r/atheism? You junped to conclusions like the selfsame accusation, how embarrassing

I said initially, you can have solutions to behavioural problems via prayer and fasting
I.e. you pray to Jesus Christ, and the origin of sin for some of these behaviours gets Revealed
You ask Him for strength? Expect challenges
You ask Him for wisdom and knowlwdge? Expect problems to solve
God is in the business of teaching men how to fish not giving you useless platitudes and vain repetitions

Furthernore if youre going to attempt to rebuke objectively FASTING as inefficient or snakeoil, youre already doomed from the start

Self sufficiency used to be a pioneer/frontier thing
But ever since nixon took us off the gold standard and everything went to shit, the characteristics and circumstances that lead towards a lifestyle of independence and capability have sorta fell off a cliff
Also everyone nowadays is entirely useless because of the outsourcing of labour to more dedicated professionals, when formerly this used to be more of a coming of age challenge for mkst young men and their fathers and first vehicles etc: buy a shitbox and fix it together
Now that everyones a rent cuck and a single fsther household, the barrier of entry to both buy tools and have someone comletent enough to guide the young brain through the process and the space to do it within all became socioeconomic challenges of themselves, waivering in the face of planned oblescence

Alot of these plebbit pursuits of drama tend to end with a "haha gotcha, 1uppd (((you)))" moment of pathetic endearment
Its all so tiresome
In the age of psychological dependence on pharmaceutical drugs and addictions we see everything but a confession of faith as a healing conerstone and instead shill ThErApY hour with the rapist roastie of mindgames and pills for days
Pills which have left a barren hole in every little thing because- theres a pill for every problem the witch doctor said you have
Which is ironic
Holistic naturopath healing is something the elites do
Lots of modern people suffer from maladaptive coping strategies and other mind viruses because the modern conditions of life induce them and we slap a bandaid pill solution to a problem of SOCIETY being the main driving force
You dont get half these mental illnesses and apathy without industrialization and modernity most of the time: see women and the neurotic challenge that is taming the environment that exploits their biology and brute force manufsctured consensus

Most materialistic redundancy common among le science belieber is an especially contagious form of idolatry that needs addressing
He already conceded to the fact you are what you eat ala teinkies and mountsin dew as far as mental health implications with gut biome- let alone parasites
Yeah
Lets talk about parasites
Yknow, toxoplasmosis gondii being found in bikers after a crash ahahahahaha
