Here is a scenario. Safety and fuel economy regulations have all been marked null and void. Assuming money is a non issue, what defunct vehicle would you choose to bring back into production in your country? What changes, if any would you make?

Sky is the limit.

1969 dodge charger painted like the general lee of course

complete pie in the sky but here’s what I’d be after
> footprint of a ford excursion: bof, 3 row, 4WD with a 2 speed transfer case, solid rear axles
> 10 or 8 speed auto for better mpgs
> modern interior with carplay, heated seats, but no “infinity screen” dash - something like the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer
> big gasser V8, a la ford Godzilla, that drives a transmission-mounted electric motor, with onboard 50 miles of PHEV range

this vehicle would be horribly unreliable and cost 120k, but if the stars aligned it could be a great car

literally just every GM car from the late 60s to early 70s. add a pair of airbags and transmissions with more than 3 speeds and that's it.

citroen AX
>modern headlamps for better visibility
>better rust protection
>more reliable engine
>maybe a tiny bit more power and adjusted gear ratios
>a tiny bit of extra sound insulation to make the highway speeds bearable
>adjustable steering column if we want to go crazy

S13, and give it a more modern powertrain to make it competitive with the 2nd gen Toyobaru. Nissan doesn't really have anything appropriate at the moment so while we're dreaming I'll pretend they'll spend the money developing a hot rod version of the current PR25DD with 1 point higher compression, and more aggressive cams and intake/exhaust manifolds designed for more flow at higher RPM than the current version's 6k power peak. I'd prefer they keep it naturally aspirated for better responsiveness.

80s and 90s EVs with modern batteries would be epic, if I am ever forced to give up gas then I'll be seeking out one of those
But for me it would be the 1957 Chevy since it's most likely to actually sell due to the whole Americana aspect (I'd get a wagon, myself)

There are companies out there who will build you a new Excursion. It can be done if you have the truck and an extra $100k in your pocket.

Every single cool European, Jap, and US car from the 60's and early 70's.
And also from 1991 to 1998 for Jap and Euro.

This is what the people want, this is what the people need. I'm fucking SICK and TIRED of this NUSHIT WORLD.

Wouldn't take much, a decent tune on a bone stock 5mt s13 with a dohc ka24 will do 15 seconds flat in the 1/4. Only a second slower than a toyobaru.

I revive the toytador, in sedan and estate body styles. (and a swb two door coupe version)
but this time with 2GR-FSE V6 and 2UR-GSE V8 engine options paired to 8 speed auto or six speed manual gearbox.
extensive use of Aluminium and composite materials to try and get the curb mass near to 1000 kg.
plus really the interior needs an overhaul, something a bit more like the 1992 Honda prelude.
also needs colour options .eg Sherwood green & gold paint, aquamarine & kingfisher green trim idgaf.

CX LoadRunner
>>
I really wanna say the DMC-12, if just to drive the price down a little, but I almost feel like that would mess up the unique story of that car, so IDK.

There's honestly a lot of cars I *could* say.
There's probably dozens of 50s & 60s cars I'd love to see on the road again (running better 90s engines).
I'd take the dead simple but comfortable econoboxes from the 90s (Camry, Accord, Corolla, Civic, etc.) so I can continue to avoid software on wheels cars. Hell, I'd actually give an EV a shot if these old champs came back with such an option.
Early-mid 2000s minivans were cool as hell. 90s ones were funky in exterior design (in a good way).
The original Beetle would be nice to see again.

Hard to pick just one.
