Nice, I have the same specs, although with twice more RAM and if you rarely play AAA games, then this rig has been more than enough for years, and may continue to be if you keep playing older games. In my case, I started thinking about an upgrade after seeing system requirements for AC Rally.
5070 seems like a decent option, I'd pay more or less the same what I originally paid for 2070, so it seems like prices went back to normal.

Correction: they run beyond the limit of their silicon from the factory. They actually had to tune the chips down after the fact because they were frying and causing irreparable damage to the silicon running on stock settings.

>>
>>28737173
I don't own an Intel CPU, I'm just reporting the issue.

And no, don't try to undervolt it if you have the issue, the actual solution is to RMA the CPU. Intel extended the warranty by 2 years on the affected CPUs (13th and 14th gen i7s and i9s) bringing it to a 5 year warranty and they accept basically any RMA about instability. Then, when you get the replacement CPU, make sure to update your BIOS -- this will make it slightly underclock the CPU in a specific area that will keep it from damaging the new chip. You do lose like 0.5% performance from it, but it's not really noticeable. Underclocking it yourself will not solve the problem, just delay the damage.

because only two meaningful championships ran them, both of them were only national-level (Super GT, DTM), and only one of them currently exists and it has an exclusivity license with Gran Turismo. just because /ovg/ are contrarians who hate GT3 doesn't change the fact the majority of people do like them. We are living in the golden age of GT racing and really endurance racing in general, with a multiple healthy popular championships around the world and dozens of manufacturers supporting the class. It makes perfect sense that GT3 would be the focus of modern racing sims.

yes I sure do love one make races. look at every daytona 24 grid before GT3s became the defacto standard for GT racing in America. It was nothing but porsche cup car slop and maybe a ferarri challenge car here and there, and the odd camaro or corvette that DNF'd. so fun to watch

>>
>>28738669
gt1s didn't race in grand am era daytona 24s bro
>>
>>28738669
you're aware that GT racing in america prior to the late 00s when GT3s became the norm was in a constant state of near death, right? back in the 80s they were running de facto spec cars because 70% of people entered the same tube frame+Chevy V8 platform racer, and in the early 00s they were instead running spec series DPi's with BoP'd engines.
>>
>>28738677
It's tragic that engineering is so dead that we need to use boomers to crowdfund race series because otherwise there would be no manufacturer interest to homologate shit.
>>
>>28738675
yeah, and them merging with ALMS to make the modern day IMSA saved sports car racing in America and is more popular than ever. all the interesting GT racing was either in Europe or Asia at that point
>>
>>28738680
there's plenty of engineering in GT3. There's just restrictions to disincentivise manufacturers from getting into spending wars and killing GT racing for the 4th time in as many decades.
>>
Anyone have one of these haptic pads? I have $150 in dell credit and have no idea that to get.
>>
>>28738683
the ALMS had the healthiest GT class in the world around the time of the merger what the fuck are you talking about, GT3s was the gay little privateer GT class until the early 20s
>>
>>28738695
because ALMS had BoP, unlike the ELMS.
>>
>>28738671
You used singular form for everything else, nothing in your message indicates plurality except your later back pedal in order not to seem foolish.

Now, explain what exactly I'm projecting.
>>
>>28738584
No, because I have a PS3. Quite remarkable that PS3 emulation is as almost as performant as PS2 now, so I wish you good luck.

Now if someone could tell me how to get GT5 to recognise my existing photos and track designs that are present in the game data folder as existing (I transferred my saves from my dying/dead old fat PS3, and they are missing despite the rest of my save being there), then I would very much appreciate it.

Sony just had to encrypt hard drives and link them to the motherboard, didn't they. Fuckers.
>>
>>28738705
I didn't. Everything I said functions in plural, because that was my intent. just because you're ESL and needed the "both of you" to be specified doesn't change how the sentences work in English.
>>
>>28738723
If you actually wanted to convey a message in plural you would've used a formal plural. Now stop back pedaling and explain the projection you claimed.
>>
>>28738661
strong man meal
>>
>>28738724
native English speakers don't autistically differentiate, they can intuit meaning from context.
I already told you, you thought you could 'gotcha' me by screenshotting proof I'm talking to more than one anon, and when I told you I knew you were two people (there's that plural 'you' again), you panicked and started trying to prove "you" can only be singular.
>>
>>28738735
>you panicked and started trying to prove "you" can only be singular.
Never did, just that your message doesn't indicate plural at any point.
So your whole argument boils down to “I meant it that way because I say I did”?
Come on, man. If you actually intended a plural, you would’ve written it like someone who wasn’t scrambling after the fact. Native speakers “intuit meaning,” sure, but they don’t expect telepathy to fill in gaps you never bothered to express.

And you still haven’t explained the supposed “projection.”
Pointing out that you got caught mixing up who you were talking to isn’t a gotcha, it’s just… pointing out what happened. You slapped “you” on two different posts and then pretended that was some 4D-chess intentional pluralization.

Anyway, if your big reveal is that I’m ESL, cool, congratulations. Still waiting on that explanation, though.

still never quantified why GT3 sucked btw beyond "it's popular so I don't like it"
>>
>>28738821
In case you didn't catch the original jest, it was to mock at the plain taste of only wanting the same thing over and over repackaged. But I can see I expected too much from you. Now, what was I projecting? Or are you finally going to concede?
>>
>>28738825
things aren't bad because they're common, and you haven't quantified 'plain'. You're making a distinction without a difference, your core complaint is that "GT3 is bad". I asked you to explain why you thought so, and you never did. You had to shift the discussion to trying to accuse me of something unrelated to move away from the original point.
do so you why I called you a contrarian? You're free to not like GT3, but don't make definitive statements if you don't want people to challenge them.
>>
>>28738833
>Please start quantifying every word you said
First, you tell me what I was projecting? Ain't gonna read a single word before that. All you've done is stumble on your words and arguments every step so far.

>>28738841
not every word, just the ones you're relying on to make your argument.

Cars in ACR feel so different when compared to Rally 2.0, not sure if that's good or bad, as I never did it IRL. I was already getting hang of it in DR2.0 and now it seems like almost nothing from that games applies to ACR so I have to start learning all over again.

Dirt rally 2.0 physics make car behave like they all have 4 wheel steering, so any discrepancy means its better.

For the fourth, I kitted out the Honda RA272 in a Lotus livery, and used Jim Clark's race suit and crash helmet.
Fifth race, I used the Gr.1 Dodge Tomahawk. Wasn't sure if the others would pit, but they did and I won by a distance.

I dont get the obsession with AMS2 on steam after the PMR shitstorm. The physics are not good and most cars do not handle well. LMU and iRacing feel way better

Does TXR 2025 have more 80s cars now than during launch, or is it still just the handful few and that's it?

Anything above gt3 is science fiction in iracing. Like gran tourismo level. Prototypes are a joke, and F1 is worse than Codemasters games. They have horrible aero simulation, and vast majority of cars have really outdated tire model as well. Shitboxes and gt3's are great to drive, though. Only thing holding them back is their collision model, even when netcode isn't fucking around, collision model will.

The BYOTC Server has been updated with the coming weeks track. Get your practice in and remember submissions for new cars/updates to existing ones close friday evening Euro time.

Just bought the Moza R3 bundle, wheel looked like shit so bought the 12" wheel to go with a long with a clutch pedal and brake spring upgrade. Is 12" still gonna be too small for rallying? I plan to really only rally and maybe some drifting, I know most drift cars are running like standard 350mm wheels and rally seems to be more like 320mm. Should I buy a Moza quick release adapter and a 350mm wheel? Will that be too big for rally and a the tiny 4nm of torque of the R3? How unrealistic would it be to run a 304mm wheel in rallying, that is what the 12 inch wheel would be.

Ive got a 320mm buttonless racing wheel and quick release but on a r9.In terms of size I think its perfect. I only do touge, rally and general sliding around. I have heard the larger wheel can reduce the ffb feeling.
