There is a Cadillac Catera for sale, good condition, cheapShould i buy it?
>>28737155God no one of the worst handling chasis gm ever made
It's a top of the line Opel Omega MV6 rebadged as a Cadillac. The MV6 was called Monivika 6, multiple issues 6 over here for a good reason.
>>28737179Have you driven one? What is bad about them?
>>28737185Irs has alignment problems Aussies fixed it with aftermarket kits to fix the squatV6 are under powered Just get a GTO or something else like a cheap Corvette or ppv or crown vic it will be infinitly better
Ignore all posts ITT and buy a cadillac fleetwood fr the 90s.
>>28737155If you like obscure, oddball cars then sure. These obviously got a Cimarron-like reputation when new and have basically disappeared from American roads, but it seems like the rest of the world never had any issues with the platform.A V8 is easily dropped right in to them as well since they're similar enough to cars like the GTO (The Opel Omega it's base on was also almost sold with an LS1 V8). You can even rebadge it as an Opel or Vauxhall if you want to look like more of a special snowflake on the road as well.
>>28737155Just get an Infiniti j30 and be able to enjoy the damn car
>>28737155Absolutely>>28737179Wrong. It's the caddy that zigs.
>>28737155Forgot to addIt’s only 1500 bucks
>>28737886You seem like a cool guy, I'll do 1250
>>28737155https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TM_YTcLC-t0Put a turbo on it
>>28737886Oh fuck you should have led with that go get it I'll give you some mods I picked up a v8 one a decade ago for about 2500usd in aus
>>28737375>Cimarron reputationthat's unfair. the Cimarron was objectively trash, the Catera is a solid car with the wrong badge. It was their first attempt to really try and turn Caddy into the American BMW like they really went all-in on in the 00s. If it had had a Pontiac badge it would've been fondly remembered and probably would've sold much better.
>>28738479I forgot to add, it's in the same class as the Lincoln LS, another solid little luxo-sport with European underpinnings that had the misfortune of carrying a badge with too much cultural baggage.
>>28738479Agree, Pontiac badges would've been a better fit. And maybe offer some options from the euro parts bin like the manual/LSD combo, just to set the car apart from the Grand Prix and Bonneville. Otherwise those would have just offered more car and engine for less money
>>28738479they could have basically made the G8 before the G8 if it had Pontiac badges.
wtf it's opel omega
>>28737928Isn’t the engine bay different?Read that you have to make a custom subframe if you want to V8 swap an Omega B.And the Catera is just a fancier Omega.
>>28737155if it doesn't have a direct access hatch through the floorpan from decades of salt, then go for itthey are fat and guzzle gas, but they are comfy as fuck
