What do you guys think of the Toyota GR86?
I'm running an outback currently and thinking of trading up to a base trim GR86.

If someone could post the webm of the prius smoking one off the line, that'd be great. Thank you in advance.

I like how small they are, but I can't imagine spending 30k on a sports car with under 200 ft-lb of torque and like 230 hp. You can get a lot of Corvette for that money.
>>
>>28737909
is the outback your only car? if so don't do it save up for weekend car
>>28737920
>You can get a lot of Corvette for that money
at best an ok condition c5 z06, some people want a new car with a warranty
>>
>>28737952
C5 Z06 makes twice the power and has suspension that is in a different world than the GR86. A base model C5 is half the cost of a new GR86 and still blows it away. A base model C6 can be found for 25k all day.
>some people want a new car with a warranty
It's a 3 year warranty - who cares?
>>
>>28737909
would rather have a miata
>>
>>28737909
Looks like a car that someone who kisses their dad on the lips would drive.

Considered it vs CTR.
> tiny almost like Miata
> interior quality questionable
> muh slow
> muh MPG

But
> great looking
> the hp is actually "enough"
> RWD
> small is actually good too, other cars are fuckhueg

>>28737920
Don't listen to the Corvette fags - it's a lot more money and or work.

>>28737963
Had Miata, too tiny.
>>
>>28738660
They aren't great looking though and they're slow 4cylinderlets
>>
>>28738370
Dishonest video.
>>
>>28738727
I disagree with you entirely, they are one of the best looking cars out there. I honestly think they look as good or better than all the heavy-hitters - Supra, GT, M2, Camaro, etc. Only the Z and the C7 (specifically) look better.

> 4cylinderlets
I did say "muh slow". You can add that the MPG is horrible, the engine is strung out so you can't easily add more power without blowing it, etc. BUT - it's fucking NA, that's big for driving experience. I know CTR is the worst "barely fast" car, but the powerband on it is a fucking shit.

While you got me ranting - I also find small cars way easier to work on for the most part, and way easier to wash, maintain, etc.

tldr: It's slow, we all agree, BUT it's also just fast enough to be fun. Obviously everyone pulls on it on the highway, but it's also $15,000 - $40,000 cheaper than that everyone.
>>
>>28738374
If you're buying a car to be fun, why would you spend more money on a less fun car?
>>
>>28738660
Corvettes are not at all hard to work on nor particularly expensive to maintain. They also aren't know for oil starvation problems or exploding head gaskets.

My TWIN-TURBOCHARGED cars are much more fun of an experience than my naturally aspirated cars
>I also find small cars way easier to work on for the most part, and way easier to wash, maintain, etc.
You've said this before, it's just as easy to wash my full-size family sedan as it is to wash my cute little blueee coupe, it just takes slightly more time because 4 doors instead of 2

>I'm running an outback currently and thinking of trading up to a base trim GR86.
I think the outback is actually faster so you'd be trading down.
Piece of shit for what it costs. If it was $10k it'd be a great car.
>>
>>28738925
You aren't being honest - you know those issues are rare. You know a used car is going to be work than a new car, end of story. Especially a hooner car.

>>28738927
Right, very helpful post. It's not 1990 anymore grandpa.

>>28738931
Turbo response sucks, end of story.
>>
>>28738936
I've owned multiple generations of corvettes and have never had to do anything but basic maintenance. It's not an exotic car. You could get a base model C5 and a lifetime of maintenance and it will come in at under the sticker price of a GR86

You can definitely get a c6 for 30k. You are comparing a new car and a used car tho which is retarded
>>
>>28738745
Even with an early start that is pathetically slow. Btw OP only problem with this car is that and that it’s pretty small. But mostly that it is unbelievably slow which is even more pathetic when it tries to look so sporty
>>
>>28738029
the chally has more in common with the land barge that is a 300C than anything like a 350z
>>

>>28738370
that video is the last gen... the new one isn't a "fast" car but it's almost a second quicker 0-60

I drove one for a few days, it's fine, you'll see a few at every track day for a reason

and let's be real, it's competing on the market with a new miata, not a used corvette
