i was just now driving for maybe 6 miles and while i was parked with the engine running i noticed a little bit of smoke coming from front left end of the car. just out of front driver side kidney grill. at first i thought it was just an visual effect from heat of the engine (it is below 0 degrees C outside), but i went to check it and indeed it was smoke, cant say what color because it was dark outside and i had to use phone flashlight, but id say it was a thin white smoke (not the thick black kind of smoke when burning plastic). i shut the engine off and it gradually stoppedafter a couple of minutes i started the car and drove home (1 km drive) and when i stopped it was smoking again from the driver side kidney. popped the hood and noticed smell of burning. also there was some smoke coming from marked areas (empty space on the driver side between engine and radiators). i couldnt see any coolant leaks or clear source of the smoke, but im thinking it was maybe from front side of radiator because more smoke was coming from kidney than under the hood.checked the coolant level and it is just bellow the low mark, but the engine was hot and marking is for cool engine. engine sounds ok, heating works very good and i never had overheating light come on (bmw so no temp gauge on the instrument cluster)any ideas?
