Are there any mid size SUVs made in the last 3-4 years that arent pieces of shit? Need a reliable grocery getter to haul 2 kids around in, looking at a 2022 Toyota highlander maybe? Last year they had the V6, really dont want to fuck around with any more of this 4 cylinder turbo BULLSHIT all manufacturers seem to be doing right now. Just want something reliable, dont care about fancy electronic shit that will break
>>28740459Whats your budget? If 35k or less, I posted in another thread the 2014-2019 GX460. 1UR V8 that goes 300k miles. No cylinder shutoff, no engine off at red lights. Toyota Prado with lexus badges (one of toyota’s hardercore offroad vehicles) and so has 4wd, 4lo, crawl control, descent control, multi terrain function. Folding 3rd row seats that fold totally flush with the floor. The only problem is it’s kinda ugly unless you wanna go full overland with it. Great for families, women. The rear hatch opens sideways instead of vertically because it’s a prado and is designed to have a spare tire mounted to it.

>>28740459There are pretty much no real SUV's left and the few that exist are kinda shitty and overpriced. Unless you can live with a crossover (which a Highlander is) your options are pretty limited. If you only have 2 kids you're a lot better off with a crew cab pickup and a canopy.

>>28740576Yeah man. They’re entirely more capable than 4runners with a nicer luxurious interior and often go for similar or slightly less money for the same year/mileage. They also have a manual locking center diff if you find yourself on the sands of a beach or in heavy snow. Like with all cars these days, ignore the 10k mile oil change intervals. 5k is right. Also don’t forget to change the transmission fluid and diff fluid every 50k miles. I forgot to mention, the toyota UR series of V8s is dual intake port and direct injection so the engine never suffers carbon buildup of modern direct injection systems.
