My clapped out TW200 just got stolen. Should I just get another bike this winter or wait for it to pass by? I've never ridden during a real winter I'm from Miami and moved up to New England. I wanted a bigger engine so bad and now this is my excuse but not sure if it's a good idea to buy one when it's freezing, salted roads, ice, etc. I got used to the cold just don't want to corrode a brand new motorcycle

Where can I find specific screws for my motorcycle in different colors?

I have some minor fairing on each side of my bike that is black (per default) and honda decided to fixate each element with 2 silver screws.
Any idea on how to find identical screws but in black?

Funny enough, the very similar screws underneath that piece of fairing are actually black, but one size too small.

Yeah, the "something" part is the problem here :D
According to the schematics for the bike, it should be this one: https://www.my-bikeshop.de/product_info.php?products_id=382400 (90134MJED00)

I'd like to order them on aliexpress, not spending 50 bucks on a complete set of screws for the entire bike when I only need these 4.

>>28742135
>Why not paint the screws?
I spent 20 bucks on some premium hammerite glossy black super coating and a bunch brushes, it just doesn't fucking work.
Yes, I used sandpaper to roughen up the surface, made sure any fat/oil residue was removed, made sure the hammerite had the right temerpature blah blah blah.
It always looks like fucking dogshit, the paint doesn't really stick to the screws and once it's hardened, you can just pull it off like rubber. You also need like 3 coats in order have something even resembling an even surface because no matter how carefully you apply the coating, it will always be ruined by the tracks from the brush.
The parts being so small doesn't make it easy either.

Wasted an hour today trying to paint a screw and have it not look like shit, I'd rather spend money on black screws now.

401 problem is that it's just KTM Duke 390 in different bodywork, but given that the jeets that own KTM as of recently are now doing slaughter with their "excesses", Husqvarna as a whole may be going dormant. Now of all bikes KTM made the 390's are good reliability wise but as I've said it's not unlikely Husqvarna will just disappear as a brand and they'll pretend they don't know you when you need some specific part that isn't cross-compatible with the Duke, 3rd party parts makers also won't bother because it's an unusual bike. There may be something wrong with the particular bike this dude is selling if its so cheap too.

As far as off-road capability iirc you need to swap the front suspension to something slightly stiffer and then they're almost like dual sport. Stock they'll do ok(as will all other motorcycles) but again you can just take 390 duke and give it knobby tires for the same experience.

I live in a very normal working class neighborhood in a midwestern town. It's a decent place, good neighbors, etc. Unfortunately it's a short drive from an urban ghetto full of misunderstood youths, and we alsohl have our own homegrown meth heads. My house has been broken into three times over the last 15 years. The third, most recent time they couldn't figure out how to get from the basement to the upstairs so my stuff was not stolen, but it was the thing that made me get the monitored security system. My garage is detached and accessible by an alley, so the camera pointing at my bike makes me feel somewhat better.
This town is a long way from the place it was when I was a kid. Everything is worse everywhere, and Smalltown USA isn't any safer from the post-millennial changes than anywhere else.

My country doesn't even have those. Foreign bikes were never sold here officially. So bikes here are like Skyline GT-R's in the US.
At some point we had bikes like a CBR650R at the dealers, but it wasn't for long. We also had cars like Miata and GT86 for like two years at the dealers. Living in russia is a fucking punishment I swear to God.
>>
>>28742120

For actual off roading?

No, as you won't be able to stand and be on the controls. Weird angle and all that since it wasn't designed that way. Also the 17" tires will feel bad in some stuff like deep gravel, but just go faster.

However if you are just planning on what most people call offroading you will be fine. Gravel and well(ish) maintained dirt roads are just fine. You start running into issues when there are big rocks or ruts where you might bottom it out. They just don't have enough ground clearance.

You can in those situations just take it a bit slower. It isn't a dirt bike, so it won't be as capable. It is a standard bike with some clearance and offroad-ish tires. But even putting along at 30-40mph can be fun.

For 2K I would say get it. What other road legal bike are you getting for that price? I have over 22K miles on mine and it is a bunch of fun. Anyone saying you wouldn't be able to enjoy it is full of shit.

Did Russia not have a population boom after WW2? In Poland, boomers were obviously worse off financially than those in the US, but they still have a similar entitled mindset.
They would get free housing during commie times and whatever they needed they would steal from work. If they couldn't steal what they needed they would just trade with those that can steal it. Now they still expect everything to be free or near free and have an aneurysm if they have to pay for something, but if they're selling something then they expect more for it than it was new.

It's a very capable scrambler as far as i know, the only scrambler that could do that better would be a caballero 500 that is even taller and lighter but that might be hard to find.
here a video i watched of a serb putting it trough some decent offroad:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4IsBm7Xwd0

As far as i know the gen 3 that i have have slightly better suspensions, slightly more ground clearance and it's a bit roomier so it should fair a bit better in that but it would be more than double that price and i'm not use how easy they are to find used since they are very recent.

like the other anon said it's a brand new bike with a proven engine for 2k that is very fun, worst case scenario you can re-sell it for 2k to the next owner

It's turning into the third world everywhere here and they just keep bringing them in. There needs to be a drastic political change next election where as many brown immigrants gets removed as possible. All h1b's revoked. Any work visa for browns and blacks cancelled. Niggers need to be quarantined. The darker an area gets, the crime just goes up.

I think I need to have a look at my brakes. My drz is from 2007 and I don't think my brake fluid has ever been changed.

Do these testers picrel work?
>>
>>28743053
No.
It's pretty easy to replace your brake fluid so if you're worried about it just go ahead and do it.
>>
>>28743053
the only testers that actually work are the ones where they heat up a small sample of the fluid to get its boiling point. and they're very expensive since they're targeted for professional users.

Thanks for the info. I knew it was cheap for a reason, but seeing something that cheap always peaks my interest.
I was looking for a used DR or XR and it was priced the same as 20 year old examples of those bikes or similarly priced to a XR150L. I didn't think it would meet my needs, and it seems I was right. Just needed some more opinions to confirm it.
I'll just keep looking for a used dual-sport or KLR like I have been, and there already some for under $2k in range of me, but they're also all 20+ years old.
I'll still be sending that bike to my friend who has been meaning to upgrade from his Rebel 250. Sounds like it would be a great upgrade for him instead of a bike for light trail-use for me.
>>
>>28742879
Went to a demo day and liked it, but it's only marginally cheaper than an RS660 and only slightly more sportier feeling than an R7. Plus, I'd much rather spend less money on a newer used ZX-6R with an i4.
The mid-sized, p-twin sport bike market is extremely competitive and triumph's bike isn't so much cheaper or so much better feeling than the competitors to draw people away from more known bikes.

chin mount
you cant see shit on a chest mount, and barely moves when you turn your head, so you cant actually show off the scenery like when you turn your head
top-of-helmet mount is fucking retarded and only used by pure spastics and looks horrible
side-of-helmet will result in too much wind noise as it gets forced between cam and helm
>>
>>28743837

ive heard that any kind of helmet mount will shake quite a lot whereas a chest mount gets more dampened as it has 4 points of support and will barely transfer vibration to the cam tho, ill have to test it out

Like all newer Yamaha XTs it weighs a shitton for a single-cylinder and lacks power. The powerband is in fact the flattest, most boring thing i ever experienced, It has a short initial pull followed by nothing all the way to the redline, you basically just shift to go faster or slower and never to accelerate because it does that with the same lack of enthusiasm at any RPM.

The seat and seating position is comfy, it feels nimble enough and even though the components are all budget stuff they work fine. Its the perfect bike for females or beginners who dont mind the vibration from a single cylinder.

anyone bought a kove 800x rally and can tell me it's shit?

It's shit. I remember a youtuber doing promo video for kove on their own test dirt track. The bike died on him during that test and employees went to get another bike before the guy left.
You can't make this shit up.
>>
>>28744348
This sounds like fuddlore. I've heard combat pilots talk about puking after intense sorties because of stress (and hangovers.) Breathing 2-stroke exhaust with or without castor oil is bound to make you nauseated regardless as well.

What about it? It's not like it goes for 30-50% cheaper, it costs similar to a japanese motorcycle minus 5% at best.

sure, but i believe he's honorable

>>
>>28744590
>he's honorable
>>
>>28744573
That's the point. When they're not blatantly ripping off, they pick neglected markets and try to corner market share, until they charge just under the few competitors there.

Look at the Kove 450 and it's competitors. KTMs 500, which I expect Bajaj will cancel in a year or two, and Honda's CRF 450. Suzuki doesn't leverage their rz450 and pushes the dr-z.
, which is a great bike but it's not a performance 450. I don't think Yamaha or Kawasaki bother with anything bigger than a 300 either.

The EU market is moving to India, so unless the JPs start innovating in dual sport, which they won't, it's just gonna be CN or India, and Kove comes out ahead in that math.

I dunno, man. Maybe everyone will just realize the dr-x is all they really need and save us from Chinese corpos.
>>
>>28744638
all i need is a dr650, nothing needs to change
>>
>>28744561
>idk guys this seems a bit like defensive cope
Blame the fucking Chinese, because they've flogged shitty motorcycles and scooters in the US for a couple decades now. If Chinese bikes "are good now" they've still got to overcome their very well earned reputation for being junk pedaled by fly-by-night white label resellers. I'm not willing to trust them after 20 years of watching them break peoples hearts. You don't get a reputation for reliability by paying social media influencers to lie about it. That only works for turn-and-burn sales, which is exactly how China earned its bad rep in the first place.
>>
>>28744638
The japs don't innovate though, they put out heavy twins or delicate singles

If we're still talking about the Kove 450, then technically they partnered with Zongshen, who redesigned their 450 they ripped off from Fantic Moto's 460cc engine. So I don't know of copying an Italian's homework registers as more or less classy.

I think Honda needs to pull some Magic and ship Nihona waifs when you buy a Cbr1000rrr.
