Please tell me why your heavy-duty truck (with a tiny bed) absolutely needs a V8. Most agricultural tractors over 100hp have used inline 6 engines for decades now.

Cause I need to make sure my cold groceries get home quick before they get warm.

I like the sound of a carbed V8. That's all the reason I need.
>>
>>28957099
Yeah, I don't get it either, V8s sounds like total shit compared to I6s.

Eh? A 7 litre V8 in something like this sounds pretty reasonable to me.
>>
My heavy duty truck has an 8' bed though (anything less is gay)

Why does my four door sedan need a supercharged V8? Why does the full size 4x4 SUV that I use purely as a highway commuter (with nobody else in the car/no kids) need a V8?

Why don't you own a car? Or is it's displacement so small that you're afraid to show us? The world may never know, since these threads are made by 1PBTID OP's 99% of the time.

I'll play devil's advocate.

Use whatever engine is common enough where anyone knows how to fix, tune, and swap them into various trucks. Maybe it's a V8, maybe I6, or maybe I4 if developing economy.

>absolutely needs a V8
why are you so concerned with what people need?
I don't care what I need, I want a V8
I don't care what you need, I don't even care what you want
there's no reason you should trouble yourself with others, stop trying to dictate what others should do with their life and focus on yourself

I don't need or want a diesel and gas i6's are gay as fuck. What does that leave? Meanwhile my 6 liter V8 is smaller than most V6's and it leaves me with a better than a WRX F/R weight distro. Why would I want to replace it with a heavy, long and gay i6?
>>
>>28957099
It doesn't need a V8, but people WANT a V8. RAM found that out the hard way when they offered the Hurricane I6 over the Hemi V8. Now the're offering up a 1500 with up to 777HP if you want it.

Theyre late to the party.
>>
Because they’re not “heavy duty”, they’re basically the replacement for full size cars in the US and Canada. Which is fine, because people do require large vehicles with space for passengers and things
>>
>>28957099
No replacement for displacement. They don't sell truggs with i6s big enough.

>Tractors
I've got a murrican '50s inline-4 gasoline one, and a 2020s japanese inline-4 diesel one with a front loader.
