GIMP, Snapseed on phone.
Haven't tried Darktable.

darktable, and rawtherapee?

The only downside of Darktable is the abysmal noise reduction modules. Everything else is better than LR.
Okay, maybe the stupid Lab curves instead of putting in a damn RGB curve tool. But it can be used as well

lightroom and capture one trial version and then reinstall windows 10 and sign up for the trial again with a new throwaway email. Rinse and repeat.

Is Danktable's noise reduction bad?
I haven't tried other software so idk, I'm quite happy with the results of profiled noise reduction in wavelet mode, when properly tuned can be better than camera's jpg noise reduction, I personally like leaving some luma noise while removing the chroma noise so it doesn't look like an oil panting. The other modules on the other hand, non-local means, raw denoise and equalizer seem to be completely awful.

But I'm really curious to see now NR compares to other software, I was going to pirate lightroom the other day to check how NR compares, but wasn't working so I got lazy and gaveup (I hate have to use windows).
