all kinda just pictures of nothing. The tree trunks especially are not interesting enough to be the focal point of the images. Kinda feels like someone should be in front of them

The rest of them are either soft, out of focus or not interesting enough to mention.
Some of these look like they were taken in very flat lighting conditions try to go out when it's brighter. That might make some of these places look more interesting. It's also easy to get rid of hand shake like that because you can make your shutter faster. Make sure you shoot in manual or at the least with auto shutter speed and manual aperture and iso. Overall you're doing fine just keep shooting. Look into learning editing
>>
>>4315967
Atmosphere is very good but the composition is messy. Lots of distractions in the lower right.

>>4315968
this one lacks light on your subject which generally makes things look better, it's also not level

>>4315972
>>4315973
These two are nice. I think an ND filter would have really helped the second one bringing that sun's brightness down, it kind of dominates the image

>>4315976
I like the noise in this one. It feels like very early morning and I like that.

>>4315982
I like parts of this one. I feel like the top of the plant is cut off awkwardly because you wanted to get the water in frame. I think it would have helped if this were shot in portrait or with a wider lens

>>4315991
This one is very close to working for me. If only the fence post was more prominent. Try moving the camera higher and angling the camera down or some other way to separate it from the grass a bit more.

>>4315992
This feels like a photo of nice light. It feels like it needs a subject.

>>4316000
My personal favorite. I like how it becomes a wall of sharp gothic points and lines and it's kind of disorienting without reference to any sky or ground or trees, just all stone and glass.

I think the key to improving your images is really just looking at what you got and figuring out what parts of your photos you like then go out and replicate that in different situations. You don't really need to be told what is good or bad. Because there isn't any such thing, just what you like or don't like.
>>
>>4315990
If this had better lighting would be a good birb pic.
>>
>>4315967
>How did I do?
Okay. These are decent "I have a good camera now" snaps. Underexposed and muddy. Not particularly interesting, but you tried with composition in some of them. You did okay.

>What can I improve?
Just take more photos and explore more. You can make something good if you practice enough. My advice is broad, I know. Happy shooting.

Its his screen not the photo

The only way to be autistic about color and brightness is to print. Everyone else can buy a mac and just toggle the brightness and the icc profile on their screen to taste.

This is why I don't bother to post photos on here.

Not bad but it smells like auto white balance.

If you shoot RAW I'd just lock it to 5500k and leave tint to 0, then if it looks off on your computer, tweak it to taste.

Some are "over"-saturated, high saturation needs also high midtone contrast to look right, but it's not some ken rockwell level in this case.

Also if you're into landscape, buy a train ticket to Germany
>>
>>4320381
Thanks anon, I'll give that a try. What exactly am I looking for when tweaking the white balance though. Any rules of thumb I need to follow or just tweak until it looks good to me?
>train ticket to Germany
You read my mind. I'm planing on going hiking in Baden-W├╝rttemberg later this year
>>
>>4320428
Up to you after all.

I personally shoot at 5500k (for raw all it changes is the preview jpeg / what you see in the viewfinder) and then adjust until I get the mood I'm going for in RawTherapee. I personally like to overexaggerate the scene color (push it up500-1000k for sunny days, pull back 500-1000 for blue hour, etc), it's also corrective at times since I use old GDR / USSR lenses and the coatings have a strong tint on some of them.
>>
>>4320372
Learn to filter out useless criticism in your head. If you're at all serious about getting better at anything (not just photography), you're going to get a lot of worthless criticism like that and the quicker you are at disregarding it and moving on to actual constructive feedback, the better.

I shit you not there are people in both the photog and video production industries that will go out and buy those 245Hz RGB XD eXtreme 1156p gayming monitors and then self certify themselves as the top colorimetry king in their area. The problem with these screens isn't just that they're shit at color accuracy. It's that they are either straight up fucking magenta or orange and have extremely bright backlights that laser focus in on primaries at the expense of everything else. They're so bad you have these cunts writing to parliament to try and have light mode made illegal and shriek back into their chairs in pain as soon as a solid white background appears. All of these pics look reasonably good on my calibrated screen, and perfectly realistic, albeit a bit dreary on the $60 office drone screen I have next to it. You literally can't overdo the saturation on the pleb screens 98% of people are using, they straight up don't have the pigment density or backlight power to reproduce it. Those gaming monitors on the other hand will straight up burn your retinas out with 1000nits of clipped gamut.
>>
>>4315967

These are extremely boring. After you come home you need to think what you remember most from your day out. Now did you photograph that?
You also need to develop your eye for what are the interesting details in a rural or urban environment. What scenes really capture the mood of the place or make it what it is.
If the opening scene of a movie was showing this town what would it show. If the movie had a 1 second in between shot of a detail to add to the story what would it be?

It could be an old car in front of a rundown house, a tree lined road in autumn showing widely spaced houses, a close up of a weird carved pumpkin on a letterbox, an old man walking from a distance, the neon light on the front of an empty bar at dusk. All of those are building a mood and world. They all add into it.

Your world you built is just tightly cramped old houses, some deserted park areas, nothing that really grabbed me.
