I picked up a Sony rx100vii over the Ricoh and think I made the best choice It feels like a slightly weaker a7cii with kit lense in your pocket. Sure the low light performance is kinda shit in comparison to full frame but you get 24-200mm which is more diverse and just better for street or landscape photography. Very solid Evf makes it feel more like a mini full frame compared to the Ricoh that lacks one, good 4k video and no mic port that the ricoh lacks

I keep seeing people claim that Ricoh is better than a Sony rx100 but I don't see any real arguments Having an EVF is more important than slightly better low light. And even then the longer focal length will give you more options in daytime. You can actually photograph birds for example
>>4356529Crop sensors hurt the most in daylight actually, since you can not lower your ISO enough and by 1" never widen your aperture enough>at least i can take a picture of a birdLow light is a little closer. not an equalizer, but closer. the big performance gaps are fast lenses that are shape wide open for large aperture long distance shooting and the presence of a hot shoe.

bros, what are the common issues that appear after using a GR3 or at least the GR line frequently after a few years? are there any other frequent issues aside from sensor dust, stuck lens, sticky dials? I have an XF10 and use it frequently for years now. I have noticed sticky top dials, lcd bleeding, film type material sticking out from SD card slot, frequent SD card errors with V30 card.
>>4357288This is an iPhone compact. You use it for a year and then buy the next model.

>>4356887Actually, you doMost really good photos were taken by people who subsequently had their cameras lost or destroyed because they were working in shithole warzones and the third world. >>4357288People actually buy cameras that develop problems like this? There are heavily used nikon d200s being offloaded by newspaper employees that are in better condition than a band new ricoh gr apparently
>>4357441apparently, these compact cameras do. GR line has known popular issues. XF10 has no predecessor, unless one counts the X70 with regards to previous known issues.I'm sure Canon, panasonic compacts, RX100 line also have few issues here and there, but my well used A6000 has no issues yet. my D80 also had no issues besides the loose rubber grip, until I dropped it 2 feet on a wooden floor, it hit the mount so it sometimes shows error with the lens. the VR on my nikon lens doesnt work since the rubber inside loosened. my D90 has an issue with a Sigma lens, it only focuses in AF-C, but paired with D80, no issues with AF-S.these are just consumer grade cameras and lenses.
>>4357522>'m sure Canon, panasonic compacts, RX100 line also have few issues here and there,in fact they do, similar issues to the GR, and basically any small compact that sucks in its lens on shutdown. the canon powershot S90/100 series was notorious for the lens conking out. it's the nature of the sucky sucky lens design
