Do you remember any keywords I can use to look it up? I assume you were posting under same name on /pol/?

Dunno how much I can ask you for obvious reasons so I'll keep my question vague. In your opinion how much of a possible "war with NATO" type flashpoint is Russian shipping through Kattegat?
I'm talking about things such as
>Firefight between NATO special forces boarding a ship protected by Russian security
>Ramming incidents from NATO ships trying to force a Russian container ship to enter a NATO port
>Someone being retarded enough to fire at a Russian Navy ship that is escorting a shipping vessel.

Chances for an actual flashpoint in this area or just NATO making a lot of noise? I'm, obviously concerned that someone will do something retarded and then NATO+Russia enter an escalation death spiral.

Thanks for linking your old posts. I read them all.
>i expect to see my first tanker getting boarded
Having a PMC platoon on board is cool, but what are they going to do if there's a boarding attempt? Start shooting at NATO soldiers?

Look, I'm not one of those "Russia should just lie down and die" retards, but to me this is always a chain of events like magician pulling handkerchiefs from a hat.
>PMC repel boarding attempt
>now Danish CG has a reason to shell your tanker
Even if it's just some PMC and SAS dead on each side it becomes an international incident and now you have VVP calling you asking "what the blyat".

Another scenario I see is Dane/Swedes trying to orchestrate a "Naval Right of Way" violation between their military or civilian ship and your tanker with the goal of having your tanker ram them. This would then give them cause to "arrest" your ship.

None of this is meant to doompill or discourage anyone. Just thoughts I've had that worry me personally. I hope these (and many more) are scenarios that your company has considered because if you hire PMCs they will need to know when it's OK to start shooting.

There is so much international presure for Denmark to close the straights that I think it's way more likely that it will be American actors who go for the incident.
Our government, despite how fucking retarded they are, does not seem intent on making us a strategically important target for the Russians.

Its quite something to see all this pressure being placed on Belgium and the Netherlands, two countries that have disproportionate institutional, trading and financial assets and who are asked to *unilaterally* risk all that for Ukraine. It'd be one thing if Belgium were backstopped by ironclad guarantees as de Wever said, about EUR 200 million being available on demand from all interested parties in case Belgium had to fork over the cash. And together, they could do it with some grumbling. but they don't even want to pitch in the amount it would cost if the costs were to be borne, say, pro rata "nominal GDP".

It's okay, geography is hard.
But Denmark has pretty much already signed our entire militsry away to the Ukrainians, and that was without any presure to do so. The fact that we have been refusing the classify all the drone "attacks" as Russian, and refused the possibility of violating international mercantile law are definitely steps up for our vapid female politicians.
Maybe it's because they realised that the US was obviously try to set up a casus belli for Russia to invade, where the Americans could say we were on the offense, and article 5 would therefore not be invoked.

the obvious retort to screwing around with the Russians particularly kinetically would be the impossibility of securing all those tens of thousands of Maersk ships sailing on every body of water in the world, against Russian retaliation. And even then at that price, it wouldn't be a decisive win against Russia.
Sry about the geography screwup, I blame staying up all night catching up on the Ukraine news backlog. Boy, can't catch a staycation with the missus without massive corruption allegations + massive missile strikes on Ukraine + Zapo front collapsing all happening over a couple of nights.

In May the crude oil tanker Jaguar was sailing from Sikka in India to Primorsk in Russia and at 59.723538, 24.462867 reported being chased by multiple NATO vessels and aircraft including EML Raju (P6732) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EML_Raju and a MiG29 of the Polish Air Force. They lost their hardons and backed off after a VVS Su-35 showed up.

One of the officers on the deck is speaking in Hindi to another person on a radio, so here's the translation:
0:34 - they are on top of us, approaching from the front.
Q: Is it a drone?
A: It's like a drone
1:03: It's turning (in English): she's turning towards the stern of the vessel
Q: Take videos of all this things.
A: yes
Q: You're videoing and recording the call right?
A: The video's being recorded.

as per usual, wishful thinking. every time new sanctions are introduced, direct flows stop for a while while we restructure corporate chains of delivery, so the end buyer would have an acceptable degree of plausible deniability (the ones who care). some hits are unavoidable, especially for goods already in transit, which we have to sell at a discount, but only for a very short while.
happened in 2023, and Reuters with Bloomberg wrote heaps of articles about how India stopped buying crude. we were reading that, laughing, and working on new shell companies. then deliveries resumed.

True. You are doing only what Gazprom (and by extension, Kremlin) want and you have their security approval. Let the Security Council worry about potential escalations.

I am curious about the process of getting ship insurance in Moscow. Do you have other guys who do that now? Would it cover damage or even contractual financial penalties due to delays created by "our European partners"?
Broad question. I know the market exists in Moscow now as necessity, but I wonder if it's actually doing a good job or if you have to turn to e.g. HongKong for insurance help.

if by other you mean "outside of P&I club" - then yes, all local now, with some caveats which ill explain later
>Would it cover damage or even contractual financial penalties due to delays created by "our European partners"?
sadly, no, only basic stuff is covered. i doubt any insurance provider in the world would sign a contract against that kind of risk. maybe some, but the premiums would be hefty, and we arent there yet to consider them
>Broad question. I know the market exists in Moscow now as necessity, but I wonder if it's actually doing a good job or if you have to turn to e.g. HongKong for insurance help.
so it goes basically like this: domestic insurance covers either direct shipments all the way (say, St Pete to Shandong ports) or multimodal logistics to its first transit point (Tanjung Priok for example, where we redistribute some of our amounts). Whenever the cargo is transferred to a shell company for the next delivery stage, we are basically free to hire whatever insurer we want, but we mostly go with the ones from destination country, so if cargo is headed from Indonesia to India, its gonna be some Indian insurance provider
