THREAD TO END ALL /POL/ GROCERY THREADS.
$39.57
>2 lbs ground beef
>milk
>eggs
>root vegetables
>bread
>beef stock
>tomato paste
>taco seasoning
>tortillas
All this is $40 at Midwest Walmart. No goyslop. No snacks. Is this price good? Bad? Are other threads exaggerating?

>>
>>536678689
Yeah. Inflation is bad across the board, but the worst for junk food. Chips are outrageously expensive for no reason and a burger will cost $8-12. You can get a whole pound of beef for less than a fast food burger
>>
>>536679547
That isn't inflation, that is literally price hiking, and calling it inflation, and no, commie faggot in the gaming chair, that's not 'capitalism'. At no point is repealing the right to personal property going to stop people from trying to cheat the system. The solution isn't some pet, faggot inspired version of socialism, it's punishment for who infringe on society.

Beef and bean burrito
$5 premade
Similar homemade but healthier from low salt

Beef hash
$5-10 ground beef
$1-2 potato wedges
$2 olive oil or cheese
$1 salt and hot pepper
$10-15 total.

Bananas
$1

Oats and milk
$7

Well under $10/day
Close to $5

that's true for fast food, which all comes from 4 companies and a few slaughterhouses. that meat is usually covered in feces as well, and needs to be washed down with water and chemical sanitizer.
most supermarkets grind their own meat on site though. you can even ask them to do it for you

No, I just bring them to a boil in a pot with 2-3x the bean height, boil it for a few minutes then turn it down to simmer for 1 and a half hours. Or you could just turn it off entirely and let it sit in the hot water for 2 hours or so.

Not bad.
You could do better on bread by making it yourself. Better price, better quality.
https://nokneadbreadcentral.com/

You could do better at Grocery Outlet on some of that, if you have one. Stock would be $1.99, and organic. They get canned tomatoes from the big canners emptying out the previous year's stock, but everything still dated well into the future. That's when I stock right up. I mean like the 24 oz cans of organic whole tomatoes, chopped, diced, paste, etc., for like 50-80% less than retail. Some years I don't even bother growing tomatoes. Save the garden space for other things.

But overall? You did gud.
Add some cheese maybe. GO is killer for that.
>>
>>536685383
The way to go is save up--have a beef jar, put spare change, dollars, whatever in it (this is why you don't want to give up cash money--jar savings plan).
Or go in with your posse. Which if you don't have one, make one.
Then buy "special trimmings" at US Chef Store or similar, and grind it yourself. $5.79/lb., packages are usually about 15 lb, so with two friends you've got beef for x weeks for like $25. Less than one meal at Five Guys.
You can slow cook or pressure cook it as stew chunks, or grind it yourself--best ground beef ever.
The trimmings are real meat that just didn't qualify for their other packages. I've gotten tri tip, teres, sirloin, round, flank, all kinds of things over the years.
A little pressure cooker does magic with cheap cuts. You can get a really basic stovetop one at Wal-Mart for under $30, though I wouldn't cook with tomatoes in the aluminum ones. It'll last forever.
I use a Crock Pot electric pressure cooker that I bought 15 years ago on a Black Friday sale at Home Depot. Never expected it to last this long. They don't make them any more but others do. There are some amazingly nice ones at W-M for around $35.You don't have to watch them, just program in what you want.

You can save a lot of money making no-knead bread at home. The long fermenting makes more of the carbs available (I agree on your keto-fad point, though have slashed my carbs hugely in the past 10 years, with good effect).
This guy's outstanding:

Bread is heavily marked up for the nutrition in it. Civilization's downfall began with merchants convincing families that store bought bread was better than baked at home.

Have company over.

"Oh are you saving up for a vacation?"

"Oh no that's for beef day. Really looking forward to it."

You would never know 30 years ago 30% of society had their own cabin or second home they didn't even use most of the time.
Glad we brought in all the immigrants and every inch of space is fought over.
Maybe eventually we won't grow food at all and can just live in a magacity and import everything until the famine hits. Surely that will enrich the middlemen merchants and be traded on multiple markets investors can profit off more.
>>
>>536688100
>That's literally it.
You can't import beef and rebrand it either like you did before because you also stopped the deworming program, it's a bunch of factors to be fair.
>>
>>536688318
Like I said beef monopoly. I live in cattle country so I know it's sure as shit not because of production issues and it's been a problem for years now. The ranchers aren't the ones making big money from the beef. It's all processing with a markup from the vendors, so they get their cut. Beef processing got monopolized and they decided to have a price hike because antimonopoly laws are never enforced.
