I truly hate this dystopian hellscape we call America. This was hanging in the doctor's office. Its not bad enough that I'm paying $750/month for mediocre medical insurance. That the doctor isn't even a doctor but a physicians assistant. That said physicians assistant is ESL. But now on top of the sub-third world tier medical care I'm subjected to in this shithole country, now I'm being recorded in the doctor's office. "To help us focus on you and provide better care, goy"
Holy shit I can't take it anymore
>>
How long until they remove the ‘opt-out’ like they did with the body-scanners at airports?
>>
>>536721080
>You are free to decline participation
Some dystopian hellscape where you can just opt out of it.
>>
>>536721884
Yeah man you can always just "opt out" until oops, turns out you can't and they recorded anyways LMAO
>>
>>536721080
Yeah I can confirm they’ve been doing that recently. It’s creepy. They just record you on their phone.
>>
>>536721884
You are dumb as fuck if you think it will stay that way.
>>
>>536721080
Complain. Loudly in front of other patients, and clearly enough that they know their private health information ia being recorded by a faceless third party and that is completely unacceptable

I have medicaid but haven't been to a doctor in 20 years. Am I missing out on free shit?
>>
You should be happy that sign is even there. I've been rather sure they've been listening in for decades. Why do you think they leave you in the little room for 20+ minutes?
>>
>>536721080
The recording is your problem? How about the fact that your medical records are being hallucinated by a chatbot?
>>
>>536721080
That is actually a good idea, too many times doctors get wrong or flat out make up what you say during your visit.
>>
>>536722202
Didn't Sam literally shit on palantir?
>>
>>536721080
Mine is doing it, too. A lot of major medical corps are doing it so they have evidence in case someone sues for liability or malpractice. After all, they got your money with their overpriced services and they're going to keep it.
>>
>>536721080
they had this at a clinic I went to so I spent the alone time talking about how ugly and stupid and smelly the staff at the clinic were
>>
>>536722299
Meeting minutes on Teams/zoom are now routinely done by AI with action items and promised deliverables and key points with video. This is same thing.

Man it must suck to be afraid of everything and not be competent enough to solve any problems. I'd probably bitch and panic endlessly too.

What problems have you solved, timmie?

Is this not a HIPAA violation
>>
>>536721080
There's a thing called doctor-patient priviledge. You waive that right if you allow a third party AI company to listen in to train their data, sell it to the govs, and use it to fuck you over whatever way ythey want.

And normalfags think that is a-okay.

>private health information ia being recorded by a faceless third party
The system we use is built into the EHR - it's not a third-party system.

>>536722303
This is a good point. When there is no recording, the doctor can write literally anything they want in your medical record - even lie to cover their asses if something is wrong.
>>
>>536721747
You can still opt out, they have standard metal detectors you can go through instead, but they'll grope the shit out of you if it beeps

>it's not a third party
The hospital has no AI business, it's outsourced to someone else. There's some fine print somewhere saying it isn't, and that's the reason they're forced to write that you do have an "opt-out". "You agreed to share your private information with the AI overlords when you read that notice and didn't decline participation"

I can't even remember how many letters I've gotten in the mail in the past five or so years saying basically "oh sorry bruh, your sensitive personal/medical information has been accessed fraudulently by..." and an offer to monitor my credit for 90 days and/or some insipid insincere apology. So yeah I'm sure the conversations recorded in my doctors office are TOTALLY SECURE BRUH DONT WORRY.
Not to mention, as a previous poster noted, it could be recording/transcribing completely false information because it misunderstood what was being said.
Fuck this faggot world.
>>
>>536726750
>The hospital has no AI business, it's outsourced to someone else
Idk about every hospital, but this is misleading. Yes, a private company works to create the AI, but once it is implemented, all the information fed into it stays within the hospital, just as any written records would be. The company that created the AI does not have access to it once they sell the model to the hospital. It's like when a medical supply company sells a hospital an MRI machine - just because a different company created it doesn't mean they have access to everyone's scans.
>>
>>536727581
You can transcribe every conversation in the hospital with a rack of 24g 3090s with high accuracy.

My physio uses AI, it's actually pretty decent.
The thing with most medical stuff is that the practitioners are retarded, and all of the information is already out there. It's just a pattern recognition and information recall problem, which AI is obviously very good at.

Yeah, except there's some internal document between the hospital and the AI that it won't be on premises, but instead sent to the cloud.

The fact that they DO have to write out the opt out means they VILL claim you waived your right to privacy and agreed to have your data sent to the third party. That's legalese 101.

i was working on something like this, not for doctors. these girl bosses all wanted AI to rate their employees. I won't say what profession, licensed but not doctor or nurse. they are all women. it started to rate their favorites badly and gave good ratings to women they didn't like. the girlbosses got all upset and said it wasn't working correctly. never work on any of this shit.

My vet did the same thing. They spammed me daily leading up to the appointment with emails and texts trying to get me to agree to it. It would link to a webpage with a long TOS with a big red "accept" button and no decline button. Reading through the fine print, it literally says it's optional. But by not hitting accept, you get daily spam trying to trick you. When I went into the office in person they kept trying to push it and I read the fine print back to them. I'm so sick of this shit.

>>
>>536721080
This is the same system brought into the UK clinics for trial, you can opt-out but all that does is make it take longer for you to receive a feedback from the appointment and if you wanted to use the clinic record as evidence for mistreatment or whatever else is needed, then you will have to prove it from the written record; not a big hassle but the purpose of it is to make the appointments cheaper by firing the administrative staff and forcing your doctor to listen to all the appointments and confirm the clinic notes are correct instead. This will save hospitals money and make the doctor angry.

Medicine is like one of two fields other than coding where machine learning is flat out better than humans in every way. I have zero problem with being recorded at the doctor, because one, I trust the machine more than the doctor, and two, it's opt-in, both because you can decline it and because you can just not go to the doctor if it's that big a deal.
