For those asking, this is what I'm looking at. A basic crotch rocket that aligns with my political values. Plus it looks cool and fast but is actually "slow" compared to the rest. I crashed my motorcycle like 2 times one highside, one lowside, didn't get too badly hurt (minor cuts, and bruises)I want to sell my bike personally (she's still in good condition), and get like 4-5k out of it. But there's things to go wrong if your confidence is too high for your skill level, like taking a corner with the knee down (lowsided on gravel after the front washed out), or fish tailing from sudden braking (how I high sided by letting off the rear brake trying to initiate a turn after slowing down enough while skidding.)I was trying to reach a gas station on a blind corner on a highway where it happened.All I had to do after the crash was replace a compromised clutch casing, and align the wheel by loosening the triple tree, and pumping the shocks and retightening.

Buy a square body, do an LS/4L80E swap, try and find a 12 bolt rear with 3.50 gears. Buy a cheap 110 volt mig welder and don't use gas. Pretty unremarkable 250-300 cc bike but for zooming around town and chilling on the highway the ergonomics and pricepoint is hard to beat. Make sure to go by a proper motorcycle shop and try on a bunch of helmets if you haven't already, the difference in fit from make to make is surprisingly dramatic and you want something that'll keep your head safe. I'd definitely try them on in person and buy an ECE or SNELL rated helmet, anything less (DOT rating) is asking for a brainbleed. There should be a /Daily Bike Thread/ that was pretty good on /o/ and there's a ton of useful stuff in the sticky if the posts happen to be nothing but schizophrenic gnashing. I wouldn't dismiss a Ninja 250r or Ninja 300 either, the former is way cooler albeit you'll want to at least be ready for a carb clean and to exercise some discretion in your choice of listing but they're all fun little pissrockets, I get like 60 to the gallon and insured my old Ninja 250r for like $35 a month, it's like a 2 wheeled Honda Civic with more swag and it's still faster than nearly all traffic from a stoplight, absolutely elite vehicles
