Half Life is the best HL game ever, in my opinion. Can you give me any reason why HL2 is better, if it is.

No but opposing force is better than both

half-shite was never good

Agree and Black Mesa (the remake) is even better, especially Xen.
Anyway HL1 > HL2 because it sets all the standards (story driven action, no cut scenes, useable scenery, immersive scripted sequences, etc.), while HL2, even though you had new stuff (vehicles, bot squads, physic engine), these new ideas had already been in some FPS before (like Call of duty).

No, it wasn't. The level design and bosses in HL were better. It was twice as long as OP4. Nothing in HL feels wrong as it takes its time to set the plot and every level feels soulful, while the Vortigore tunnel and geneworm boss fight are soulless. Also it is not important to the plot as Marc Laidlaw said that OP4 is not canon. Gearbox did nothing as good as what Valve did and Valve developed the Goldsrc engine, not Gearbox.

Also no new weapons or interesting unique enemies and boring dialogues. I like the scenario of Half Life more than its sequel.
