ITT feel free to be autistic, make frens, talk about your special interests and other things that relate to your autism or autism in general. No neurotypicals allowed.
>>78714141I like to make algorithmic compositions and generative music using Pure Data. Does anybody wanna hear?
>>78714141how likely am i to be an autist if i've never been diagnosed with anything (never been to any kind of psychologist or anything like that), but i realize i must be weird somehow because i haven't had a single friend since middle school
>>78714141I really like music, but the music theory. I like trains too. I have an obsession with the great ape behaviourss, it gave me a distinction in biology before I graduated.
>>78714188Yes please, tell tell tell more.
>>78714209Honestly IDK Anon, there can be many reasons why you are friendless other than autism. Maybe if you google some of the symptoms & cross reference it to your life you could make a better judgement>>78714220That's cool. I always feel like trains is the most textbook special interest to have. Glad for you that it gives you something to be passionate about though
>>78714209You're on 4chan it's extremely likely fren
>>78714209Youre on /r9k/, thats almost an inconscient self diagnosis.
WooooooowwwnnnPeeeeeuunmm weeeunnnn wooooooooo
Sleep apnea is killing my autism
I'm obsessed with random completely unconnected historical events that no normal person gives a fuck about. >read 7 books about the Nazi occupation of Czechia and Operation Anthropoid in the last few months>before that it was the same with the Christianization of Kievan Rus'>>78714220>great ape behaviorsThat sounds based as fuck. Tell me anon, was the Gombe chimpanzee war real or just researchers anthropomorphizing too much?
I'm so much alone and people don't like my company. It doesn't help to talk to other autists, they are just like everyone else.
>>78715311Humans commit a lot of war, chimps are our closest relative, chimpanzees however, NEVER ask whyin our controlled experiments, they just do taught or learned behaviours that yield good result. Since war, by it's nature requires a why and a 'nation', (in this case, clans) we can say that yes they were at war. They may not have understood how territory, which is the noted reason for the war as per human observation, works and why, but from already controlled experiments, see the token experiment, we know that they know it yielded results, whether mates or food, sound familiar right? Yeah, they went to war, even some humans that fight wars never ask why, they just understand it yields percieved preferable results.
I have an obsession with audio, headphones and iems instead of something useful, kill me pls
>>78714141Does anybody here play dwarf fortress? I wanna hear about your fortress, your dwarf stories, or just your thoughts on the game in general. Here have an unrelated data pic
>>78715570Know Moondrop CHU II? Is it worth it as a broke for daily use over random mass market stuff?
My autism has been overshadowed by my bipolar. How do I overcome bipolar to be my true autistic self again?
Throughout my life I've been utterly obsessed with quite different stuff, from the Tornado Alley and ship sinkings to cars fog lights and pool drains. My main obsessions nowadays are deciduous trees, early medieval iberian history, numismatics (coins) and vexilology (flags).
>Mfw seeing little sperglings make the same mistakes I didGood luck, buddy. It doesn't get any better.
>>78715595Definitely, but here are some other options you should consider: 7hz Zero 1 or 2, Truthear Gate and the Tangzu WAN ER, all around the same price bracket, use squiglink to see their FR.
>>78714141I have autism and I enjoy wars of the roses history I spend several hours each day researching people involved in it, or just people alive in the 15th century. Even during work when I probably shouldn't. Pic-related is how I think Sir Seintclere de Pomeroy died after the battle of Tewkesbury in May 1471.
>>78715701Seems like a comfy death. I hope my death will be like his one day. Also, what side do you cheer for in the war of the roses?
>>78715728I think so too. It is romantic looking for sure. I am a big Edward IV fan so yorkist but not necessarily a Ricardian though. If I lived then I would have defected after Edward's death.
What I thought were panic attacks were actually autistic meltdownsI thought it must be panic attacks because it stems from high anxiety but I never felt like I was actually dying
>>78715772What does an autistic meltdown feel like? How do you act or deal with it ?
>>78715750Based. I'm not very well versed in the wars of the roses but from the little I know, I tend to support the York side too. Was Scotland spared of the chaos and destruction that befell the rest of Britain? Also, whats your opinion on the outcome of the war and what would be your ideal outcome?
>>78715682Like what, my dear oldfag sperg fren? Help us sperglings out!
>>78715784Basically just being really overwhelmed and not being able to stop yourself from sobbing and feeling a like high panic alert. I can feel it coming on and sometimes I can stop it with anxiety coping learned from cognitive behavioral therapy - deep breathing, tensing and releasing body parts I guess that's not something that usually happens to people, or what makes it specifically an autistic meltdown is that it happens for autism reasons - a plan suddenly changing to something I don't have a clear idea of, being unsure how to fit into a big group of people or just being overwhelmed by a crowdIt doesn't happen all that often
>>78714141I really like bugs but no one else likes bugs so I think im just going to start drinking more
>>78715698Thanks, I'll check them out. Don't know enough to make use of squiglink. I barely know what IEM means from the general name on /g/.
>>78715864nta, do you ever hit your legs? i hit myself on meltdowns
I want a r9k boyfriend... but I live in southern California
>>78714141The worst part about being autistic for me is thinking life is going fine and then I fail to do something that is easy for NTs and feel like a complete failure at 26. Like shit, I can't even look people in the eye and struggle to communicate to people in real time.Fuck.
>>78715926No I never hit or anything like that
>>78715945chiken kys you retarded pedo attention whore tranny
>>78715854I mean just being loud and not doing the social thing correctly in general.
I like to tell fake but relatable stories on 4chan just to get a few chuckles and (You)s.
>>78715973I'm a cis woman though, and I'm not a attention whore it's other people who recognize me on a anonymous board
>>78715784I found an old greentext about one of them>decide to drive to the gas station to get snacks>drive to the closest one>sit in the car for 10 minutes in the parking lot trying to build up courage to go in>give up, drive home>sit in driveway for 10 minutes>decide to drive to the other gas station>park right in front of a homeless guy, didn't notice he was there until it was too late>anxiety about homeless guy overrides anxiety about getting out of car>exit my car quickly and go around the back of it to avoid him>quickly get a drink and some snacks>get to the counter>forgot to bring my wallet>tell the guy I'll go grab some quarters from my car>forgot to avoid the homeless guy>he comes up to me asking to wash my car for change>I stammer out "uhhhhh hmmmmm, uh, NO thanks">speed walk the short distance to the car door>fuck the snacks, I don't need the snacks>turn the key to get out of there>car won't start>sit there autistically turning the key for a solid minute while homeless guy watches me through the windshield>by the grace of god it starts>drive away>start hyperventilating>start groaning>groan turns into a yell>yell turns into shrieks>shrieks turn into wailing sobbing>have to pull over to not crash>sit there and have an autistic meltdown for a few minutes>go homeI just wish I was normal
>>78716028It is autism that makes people a nervous wreck like this or is it a co-morbid issue that autism amplifies? I see spergs with jobs all the time so I wonder how it is autism that makes people like this.
>>78715817There was a small invasion launched in 1482 and mostly led by Richard, duke of Gloucester. But there wasn't any large scale war between England and Scotland at that time. They had their own factional violence happening in the 15th century with warring clans. I would like Henry V to have lived a much longer life honestly, it could have prevented the war from even happening in my view. But an ideal outcome for me would be Edward or Richard prevailing over the slimy Henry Tudor. I don't have as much respect for him, even if he was intelligent and brought a small amount of peace.
>>78716056It's probably social anxiety compounded by autistic triggers Don't have to be autistic but it makes it worse
>>78715896It's in ear monitor, you can search in youtube videos on how to read the FR graphs, then when you feel more comfortable read the eq guide, but be aware, most people in /iemg/ are trolls and retards, real advice is rarely given. I also forgot to mention that the Chu have chronic filter clogging problem.
>Go on the r9k (my fav board)>see the autism thread HELL YEAH>Time to start posting about my hecking AUTISTIC hobbies SO FUN>Dont forget to drink the onions>Oh no is it time for the MEDS>IM FREAKING OOOOOOOOOOOUT>Destroy windows>SHIT SHIT SHIT I CUT MYSELFFFFF>MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMYYYYYY>AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHDSHREREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEor something
>>78714141I'm not autistic, but can I talk about beyblades here?
>>78714141>get called out>slink away like cowards because you don't have the intellectual integrity to conSNEEDBack to containment, spergs: >>78703081
>>78714141Anyone else a diagnosed autist but still not sure what their special interest is? I have hyperfixations over random things but don't see a pattern between them nor are they super specific. It feels more like ADHD. I guess they're all somehow related to computers and low-level programming but I can't code for shit
>>78715784Imagine your brain getting so overwhelmed that it basically shuts down like a computer crashing and that's essentially what a meltdown is. I've had a few rare moments in my life where I got so pissed it felt like I was about to black out. The term "snapped" is used a lot to describe freak outs but it's especially applicable in this case because in the moment it feels like your brain splitting in half.
>>78716231Jokes on you there's no meds for autism, with this condition you're forced to rawdog it your entire life
This seems better. That other one with the sideways number eight made it seem like we're all mass shooters. My special interests I don't even know or is getting too big. I'm into aesthetics, things that are pleasant. It's all related to me, clothing, photography, furniture. One of my favorite things past few years is watching movies while on mushrooms. Apartments, haircuts, cars, all interesting stuff. Actually doing something, I want to do something creative, entertain people. At the moment I speak into a microphone occasionally for /soc/. Bonus movie recommendation: The Big Lebowski.
>>78716412the whole point of autism is that it makes you too dumb to learn anything useful
>>78716674>The Big LebowskiBased & Kino. Good recommendation, anon.
>>78715591I'm afraid to start playing it and just go full hikkikomori, when I could shape this Realm of Things.
>>78714141i cant et anything in non-even numbers. i cant sleep without something covering my whole face. i cant watch anything when the volume is at an uneven number i cant stand loud music, never even been to a club, which is surprising in this day and age as a 21 yo woman. cant stand eye contanct. cant stand weird smells.
>>78716412Some don't focus on a single thing. Some of us spread wide nets and bounce around topics. I'm like this, but I've also surprisingly found that my interest in people and how they function has always kind of been my primary interest throughout my life. It's just always been there.
>>78716742This is nonsense.
I see many people telling they can't watch people in the eyes. I advise you to look at the eyes of people when you meet them. Not in the eyes, AT the eyes. You can tell a lot from someone's eyes. The most shit they have faced, the more permanent petechiae they'll have. A ivory-like sclera at 40 = born with a silver spoon, never had any worry in his life.
>>78717096>womenis this you?
>>78717225It's sensible if you think about it.
*autism meow*
>>78717204Good to know I'm not alone. But it kinda sucks I didn't hit the lottery and end up with a hyper specific interest that's highly technical and/or important. Having a billion interests feels like having none desu. I have so many projects left to die on my laptop that I'm just too lazy to touch. I think my main interest is videogames. Everything I learn is somehow related to a game I played or want to play. I only learned about low-level coding to make a game engine with custom physics >>78716742I think it's more about specialisation. You can only learn useful things if an aspect is related to your special interest
>>78717372You might want to rethink this. Yes, having widespread interests makes it hard to specialize and therefor become successful at something. But, ask yourself if you truly want that for reasons other than just money/fame/it's what society tells you to want. That aside, you have the power to pretty much never get bored as you will always have something to do to interest you. (Assuming it's a base thing for you transferable away from games)Biggest lesson autistic people need to learn in life is that they will never fit in the way they are expected to. We need to chart our own courses with our own priorities. If it's a matter of leaving a ton of unfinished projects behind you, then find a way to continue the projects each time you get renewed interest in the related topic. As long as you limit it to one project per interest at a time, then it's no trouble to bounce between them as you wish.
