But she's long gone and I lost the energy to stay out all night in the middle of nowhere. You have to go a real long-ass way in this part of the midwest for there to be even moderately low light pollution, there's shitty podunk towns full of lights every ten miles

Here. Different spot, same lens. it was as shitty screw-mount fisheye from eastern Europe that looked like it was (and may actually have been) built out of surplus Soviet tank parts.
