So in Y-DNA testing only unbroken lines of sons will be measurable this way. With mtDNA you cant measure paternal lineage. Its not possible to measure how many men reporduced through DNA testing past a few generations. In the generations which it can be measured we have documents and information on populations to know that marriage was normal.
