This may sound counterproductive, but "science people" somehow are the most dumb people aliveIt's a fascinating paradox They outsource their logic and thinking to the so called scientific method (which only works for hard science, yet they want to implement it to others things) and to "experts"
Fuck "experts" it's just overly loud fucks that get attention for no good reason. It's a wide field and mileage will likely drastically vary.t. scientist
I already saw people try to use the scientific method for sociology and economyImagine being that retarded. The most important aspect of the scientific method is the observation. You can't observe what causes what in society, because there's a bajillion different incentives and people aren't machine that work in a certain way if everything is correct Even twins from the same family have different outcomes. It's impossible to observe
depends you have to have discernment
>>83101399the problem with this line of thinking is that you are not omniscient. epistemology is relevant to you, as there are (lots) of things you dont know about realityand it just so happens to be the case that epistomology is self-validating and inherently objectively true"the strength of your beliefs ought to match the evidence of your beliefs" is a true statement that most rational people see as trivially trueand it just so happens, when you are ignorant on a subject, trusting a collection of non-ignorant people is MORE justified than just trusting your own instinctsa good example of this are people who believe in leeches and parasite therapy. they might reject modern medicine, but well educated doctors unanimously agree that leeches and parasite therapy arent the answerthere are tons of disagreement in the medical field, and theres tons of corruption, for example, doctors used to promote cigarettes. infact you can argue doctors are inherent corrupt as all of their income is based on your medical issues, and they would go broke if you were in perfect healthbut all of that is irrelevant, because epistemology still applies to you, and tru
>>83101399>They outsource their logic and thinking to the so called scientific method (which only works for hard sciencethe actual argument against the scientific method is it only applies to material things, not relationships between people, read qutb. you can of course have a scientific understanding of geopolitics, economics, etc. it's just that of course it will find itself frequently unable to explain things and frequently label people as insane or irrational
Went to art school and now doing biotech shit and holy shit. All this stem stuff is so fucking easy. Its all so slow and low pressure and all of the tests are meant for fucking kids. No one berating you and humiliating you publically for going 3grades left or refusing to take your work because they somehow read in your eyes that you lied about being sick to postpone the deadline. I didnt originally do stem because I was scared. Meanwhile these shitters literally use lotteries to handle out A's. I was aware that science has turned into circus nowadays, I couldn't fathom that they were so unapolegetic about it. Absolutely none gives any fucks about the quality of anything. So given all that, it becomes clear why science have become the route for the dumb and why indians flock there. There is no challenge there whatsoever and you can get by by just making a serious face
>>83101399Shhh the baconian zealots will get mad if you go off of pure intuition
>>83101399It's time to play: GUESS THAT LOGICAL FALLACY!!!
>>83101399Not dumb. Just conformist. For decades universities were conditioning people into conformity and rewarded it with degrees, positions etc. In the meantime shitty financial practices turned them into diploma mills because they got paid by number of students, not effects of their work. This resulted in making up fucktons of useless disciplines and taking in people who have no business doing science. Because of this, scientific process was forgotten, fresh "scientists", especially in non-STEM fields, so what they are producing isn't even science. At the same time science was turned into religion which was especially well seen during covid circus, when NPCs were parroting "trust the experts", when foundation of science is scepticism and trying to destroy theory by trial and error to make sure it isn't some cheap lie or mistake. One of the tools used for that was idea of replication, and replication rates have taken nosedive in last few decades. Anyone who thinks science is truth instead of just attempt to codify reality that might be mere simplification should read about catastrophe in ultraviolet. It's perfect example that scientific theories and formulas might be, in essence, wrong, but still useful and correct only to certain point, or at specific scale.Add to that natural human flaws like greed and corruption by big industries or political interests and you have exact shit we have now.>They outsource their logic and thinking to the so called scientific methodBecause so far that was the most reliable method of finding out most reliable theories and formulas. You might never be able to be fully right something is truth. Scientific method process is just good at filtering out trash.
