He was a grandiose narcissist. He probably assumed he would have a larger and more celebrated legacy desu. He was pretty retarded. One of his motives was that he "knew" he was going to win the lottery, when he didn't he felt like his world was crashing and burning. His default state of mind was that everything would work out for him and he would be popular, rich and famous. Every time he ran into reality it literally confused and stunned him. He couldn't comprehend that he was normal and had to put in effort.
