They will go into flowering stage automatically after a few weeks regardless of what you do, so if your setup isn't dialed in perfectly you're likely to end up with a small stunted plant that won't yield much.Traditional photo periods are more forgiving. If you mess up something and the plant grows slowly you can just keep it in vegetative stage for an extra week or two so it has time to catch up before you flip it into flowering stage.I made the same mistake on my first grow back in the day though. Ended up with a puny spindly thing that I harvested maybe 7g off.
