The longest government shutdown in US history just endedHow did it effect the lives of people on /r9k/?
i was personally unaffected
>>83102165Barely. That's the beauty of America, the government is useless for the most part. It was designed that way on purpose by based men.
>>83102165i'm canadian so nothing happened except listening to a bunch of midwit white women tell me that it was the worst thing that ever happened in human history and that trump is Literally Killing People Right Now
literally nothing to me. We should just close the federal government forever
The government doesn't do anything except skim off everyone's productivity. They're like DoorDash or something, a corporation that inserts itself to take fees but contributes nothing to the activity. They could just upload an AI trump video every once in a while and nobody would know the difference.
This thread is full of russian bots>>83102217okay Ivan>>83102235okay Boris
No food stamps. Can't buy any doritos.
I thought it was weird when the democrats side stepped the government re-opening by publishing more Epstein emails to move onto the next story
I got stuck in houston trying to fly out on orlando a few weeks ago
i wasn't able to view a nasa site that posts daily astronomy pictureshttps://apod.nasa.gov/apod/i'm not even american
>>83102430What do you mean? This shit was going to come out regardless
>all national parks are closed???? What?I went to yellowstone during the shutdown and it was open, but free.Is that an ai generated picture?
>>83102478I mean I don't think it is a coincidence that people aren't even talking about the government being re-opened and are going back to talking about Epstein
>>83102509It was from the Obama shutdown>during the16-day government shutdown in October 2013 under the Obama administration, the National Park Service was ordered to completely close all national parks and facilities to the public. This decision resulted in massive public backlash and significant economic losses for the communities surrounding the parks. The closure meant: All 400+ units of the National Park System were affected. Entrance gates were closed, and park access was blocked. Approximately 800,000 federal employees, including most park rangers, were furloughed. Visitor centers, museums, and other facilities were shuttered.
>>83102165I didnt even notice. What exactly does the government do besides collect money?
>>83102510what? they were talking about it when it happened, but there isn't exactly a lot to say that hasn't been said already
>>83102165I was able to have sex because the jewish organization stopping me was temporarily unfunded, but now that the government is open again she told me she needs some space.
I lost SNAP and had to spend real money for food instead of povertybuxx. However i have a $800/mo cost of living and also sell drugs so im doing ok.
theres at least 2 other shutdowns that happened in my living memory and in both of those other shutdowns literally nothing happened. same with this one
>>83102165If not for retards screeching about it here, I never would have known it was happening. The government has no impact on my life 364 days a year.
A few events I had paid for to attend were in venues that were federally ran and owned. Cancelled with zero refunds. Thankfully hotel reservations I was abke to get refunds for.Oh, and the towns that hosts these events lost $30m in money from the lost in tourism, which hurt them hard. Thanks Big Daddy. You sure help the economy!
