So what's /r9k/'s take on social programs? Do you think we have too little? Too much? Maybe we should have more but crack down on those who defraud the system? Maybe there is no stopping the scamming because we no longer live in a high trust society?
>>83105506The lack of social programs caused Trump, and FDR predicted it.
>>83105506>what's /r9k/'s take on social programs? They're all done wrong, more or less. Social programs as a concept are fine. The widow and the orphan need to eat. The issue is that social programs are open to everyone and they are perpetual. They should get you "on your feet" rather than simply allowing a dependent population to parasitically siphon off of taxpayers.
>>83105506Any amount of social programs is too much. Welfare, disability, food stamps, food drives, shelters, universal healthcare, etc, all dangerously antisocial laziness generators that can only contribute negatively toward the structural integrity of society by encouraging the citizen to rely on its society to take care of it. But society cannot be upheld without work, therefore all citizens that can work should work in exchange for the benefits of living in said society, and the ones that cannot work should die. They don't deserve to be here. I'm so sick of cripples, welfare kweens, impotents, spazzes and other useless leeches fucking siphoning up all of our resources and leaving the rest of us to starve. No taxation, no social programs, no schools, no charity. Especially no charity. Ban charity. Death penalty for all charity workers. In an ideal world we would shut down all hospitals too regardless of how they're funded but that's a different rant for another day.
>>83106088Stop the ironic hyperbolization, some people believe this
Society should serve the people who live in it, not the other way aroundand it sure is weird how the politicians who complain about programs for the poor always vote for corporate bailouts and subsidies, or for handing public money to arms manufacturers (and god forbid anyone crack down on richfags cheating on their taxes or buying politicians)
>>83105506they are largely a bandaid that covers up the festering wound that is the west failing to wrangle corporations and the rich funneling most of the wealth to themselves.
>>83105506I used to think they encouraged laziness and wasted money. But then I realized the absurdity in caring about that when I'm not rich. I don't even know where the government's money even goes. Israel? Epstein Island? Fancier rooms in the White House? Giving Billy Bob and Laquisha enough cash for a meal hardly seems like the worst thing we can do with money.
