Budget Day
>>
Women are truly fucking useless, aren't they? It's why we need men to get paid more than them. Imagine being paid the same amount as a man but you're totally fucking weak and useless as a police officer. How is that fair? I've literally been followed by a female police officer at night and she literally ran away when I started turning towards her until her male officer caught up. Pathetic.

Been listening to the budget, it's exactly what you'd expect. Tax and spend. Absurd spending commitments to meaningless wank that will produce nothing. A few percentages fiddled with on the margins. Yet again minimum wage hike (not good).

It's just fucking over lads.

Mad. We could have about 70p a litre if the government weren't greedy cunts

Who's the cute lady who keeps interrupting? She's cute. I'd vote for her.

Give me one fucking reason to respect the modern woman. They're all fucking crazy thinking they have it much worse overall than men these days. Men should stand up and fight back against feminism. It's not fucking right.

>>83222748
This but now do it for every fucking tax. Take VAT for example. If VAT was scraped everyone would effectively have near enough 20% more money.
>>
The budget makes no difference to me. I'll still never work because you know...there's like fuck all jobs out there anyway. Hundred applicants for one warehouse role? You're screwed.
>>
>>83222766
I remember a while ago VAT was reduced temporarily. It was lush at first but then shops just increased the prices.

>I remember a while ago VAT was reduced temporarily. It was lush at first but then shops just increased the prices.
Well yes, this is how price equilibria are established. The important thing is that the prices were overall lower than they were before.

Do you want to get pussy?
If yes, then respect seems like the absolute bare minimum. Of course outliers like Chad/millionaires/ultra-high status people exist, but for the average guy yeah if you want pussy you should show some common courtesy.
>>
>>83222766
VAT is stupid anyway. It's basically a zero-sum game moving money about. We pay VAT on stuff we buy then businesses claim back the VAT they spend themselves.
>>
>>83222797
Yep, but the government gets bigger receipts at the end of the day so they do it. I just fucking hate the government so much its unreal.

I know you lads wont believe it but my neighbour has been screaming the last two days so I had a listen, apparently someone who was living with him stole a quarter of a million from Liverpool council.

We're just in a death spiral. Around 60% of households receive more in state handouts than they contribute in taxes, so because the incentives are all screwed up it becomes rational from a personal economic standpoint (at least in the immediate term) to never ever vote for people who are going to cut taxes (assuming voting leads to policies, which I grant is basically not a correlation across the majority of democratic politics at this point). Or, they will simply vote someone else in when it comes time for re-election.

We've seen this already. They said they'd cut the winter fuel allowance, they backtracked. They said they'd cut PIP, they backtracked. They said they will cut the health component of UC, they're already signalling a backtrack. They said they'd keep the two child benefit cap, and they've not only backtracked but made plans to expand it. In each case it's because backbenchers revolted and refused to allow the proposed policies to pass because every single one of them knows that come election time they'll be 93,904 quid worse off a year.

Universal suffrage combined with a progressive welfare democratic socialist state is inherently unsustainable.

Off the top of my head:
>no increases to base rates (good) however income tax thresholds are being frozen until 2028 (bad)
>salary sacrifice is being raided, lowering tax threshold (bad)
>revaluation of band F/G/H homes, anything above 2 million gets a mansion tax (bad)
>reduction in ISA tax breaks (bad)
>increase in dividend tax (bad)
Obviously depends on a few unknown variables e.g. value of your house. Overall you will be worse off year-on-year due to fiscal drag and reduction in saving vehicle efficiency.

Except the government has systematically been squeezing incomes into a narrower and narrower band for decades now. Minimum wage has grown faster than any other segment of incomes by a very wide margin. The new minimum wage is virtually indistinguishable from a typical graduate salary at this point, around 25k.

If you had total control of every aspect of every institution and government body in the country, realistically how would you change them such that people who are that obscenely mentally ill do not end up in this situation? Assisting people will always require some level of agency and rational thinking on behalf of the person being helped. Sad as it is the reality is that person was never going to live to the ripe old age of 85 and your initial implication that some billionaire could come along and somehow throw money at this problem doesn't solve it either.

Pointing to a blisteringly rare instance like this is like saying that Victorian England wasn't historically unprecedentedly safe because Jack the Ripper existed.

Quick question, were there warning signs regarding k? I.e. if you did some your general urinary area would hurt for a few days and you lost the ability to piss with any pressure, just came out as a dribble? And then it would go away after a while of not doing k so you think it'd be ok to get some more in, but then it'd start hurting again. Did you have that? I have that.

>how would you change them such that people who are that obscenely mentally ill do not end up in this situation?
for one systems that are intended to help people who are incompetent or obscenely mentally ill shouldn't be overly complicated to engage with. The only reason they're that way is because the organisations behind them are bloated and have to justify to themselves the massive salaries they pay out to useless bureaucrats. If your job is to help vulnerable people and they choose to remain vulnerable over engaging with you then you have failed. You can't just shrug your shoulders "I guess they just want to do that"

Lad, my dad worked for the local council for twenty years in housing and before that he was a social worker. He will be the first to tell you that nobody is on the streets because they are unable to be housed, it all comes down to trying to convince them to agree to be helped, but most simply don't want to be helped QED it's their choice to be on the street even if that choice is irrational.

That's not what I'm arguing, I'm arguing that some people who choose not to engage with the system are doing so because it's overcomplicated and unaccommodating, and the reason it's like that is not because it maximizes the number of vulnerable people who can be helped but because it's bloated and bureaucratic

>Lad, my dad worked for the local council for twenty years in housing and before that he was a social worker. He will be the first to tell you that nobody is on the streets because they are unable to be housed

I used to smoke all the time, for nearly ten years was a daily smoker but then I got fed up of the apathy and needed to sort my act out. Now I basically can't smoke unless I've got a benzo in me because otherwise the paranoia just ruins everything and I get way too inside my own head. It's a shame because I have loads of weed all wrapped up nicely. I grew a plant a couple years back and had loads of that, ended up giving most of it away to people. Then when I'd just about got rid of all of that I just found a quart of properly dank buds on the floor in a bus stop. Bet whoever dropped that had a shit day. And then a mate gave me some hash. All just sits there, sometimes when the wife's away I'll have a joint but don't really enjoy it much.

>And yet there's loads of these lads still on the street.
Yeah, because these organizations all have a strict "no drugs/alcohol" policy since they don't want to deal with the headache of Smackhead McAlchie dying of an overdose in their property.
And if you give most of the long-term homeless a choice between shelter and continued access to drugs, they'll pick the latter.
>>
>>83223579
Yeah I got some crazy dank stuff at the moment. It's a two puff job. Literally I got five spliffs rolled, I keep them hidden, then when it rolls near bed time I take one out, have two puffs and then put it back. These five spliffs will last me a month or so. I prefer edibles though much more comfy.

I used to heavily smoke every day 24/7 now I cant, this weed is too strong. I don't know if its what everyone is smoking but it's insane.

>>
>>83223569
>I'm arguing that some people who choose not to engage with the system are doing so because it's overcomplicated and unaccommodating
But this isn't even remotely true. Have you seen the state of the average person being 'accommodated' by the council, or by a local charity? Absolute mongfucked mongbrained mongoloids, and yet they have a roof over their head because it demands virtually nothing from the person except a willingness to turn up. I will say yet again, the local council and social workers will literally help sit you down and write your name on any document put in front of you if you, somehow, are unable to.
>and the reason it's like that is not because it maximizes the number of vulnerable people who can be helped but because it's bloated and bureaucratic
It is bloated and bureaucratic, but not in the kafkaesque sense of making it impossible for an ordinary person to achieve anything. It's bloated and bureaucratic in the sense of the government spends 20x as much as it should be because it uses every government program as a joint defacto work program to buy votes with sinecures and expand its power base.
>Of course he would, to say otherwise would be admitting that he's one of those useless bureaucrats who steals a salary. A fortune teller would tell me that card reading is real too, should I believe them?
Kek, that's a fair rebuttal to that point, but I will say that my dad is a genuinely kind-hearted person and wanted nothing more than to honestly help vulnerable people, he just had to face the facts and admit that the ones who are on the streets are not there for lack of trying to convince them not to be or because of some burdensome bureaucratic payload that they couldn't handle. You know that they frequently put people into accommodation first and sort the paperwork out later, right?

At my doctor's. she knows me as the awkward, autistic alcoholic who went to hospital 5 times in 30 months

But not this time. This time, she noticed. Commented on my appearance. Several times. Locked eyes. Flirted. More than once.

And the funny thing is, they think I'm months sober. I'm only 6 days. But 6 weeks semen retention, and I feel like the Terminator. My sore liver is gone. Ulcers are gone. GERD is gone. I'm curious to see what my liver enzymes and testosterone is. I'll come clean if my enzymes are a little high, but I can't wait to see if I can test totally normal today

It's such a different life. I used to dread this office, and felt such shame seeing the receptionist. Now I'm SOOO tempted to tell my doctor everything. I honestly don't know. I have minutes to decide.

>AI is really still digital. Ultimately AI can improve the productivity of humans who build things with their hands or do things with their hands. Like, literally, welding, electrical work, plumbing. Anything physical, those jobs will exist for a much longer time.
>But anything that is digital, which is like just someone at a computer doing something. AI is going to take over those jobs like lightning. Coding, anything along those lines. It's going to take over those jobs like lightning. Just like digital computers took over the job of people doing manual calculations, but much faster.

I've noticed a recurring pattern where people confidently claim that AI is useless, overhyped, or will never come close to replacing their profession. It's not just skepticism-it's often framed with absolute certainty. For example:

>"AI will never do my job."
>"LLMs are just prediction engines, they can't reason."
>"This is another crypto-style hype cycle-it'll fizzle out."

Now, to be clear, I'm not saying AI will 100% take over all jobs. I also recognize I have my own bias-I work in a field related to AI, and from what I've seen, the progress is both impressive and worrying. But I also admit there's uncertainty, and nobody really knows how it will all play out.

What I'm curious about is the psychology behind people who are so dismissive. Is it:

>A defense mechanism to manage anxiety about the unknown?

>A kind of rational ignorance ("AI's not good yet, so I'll deal with it when I have to")?

>Intellectual overconfidence or identity preservation ("I'm too creative/strategic/technical to be replaced")?

A lot of people are in denial about it, the progress it's made in just a few years is immense and it's only getting smarter. I admit I was a bit of a luddite around it since although I work in tech I don't have to write code so I couldn't really see the purpose for me personally. And then I got an email from Cisco support's bot Sherlock. They've had it for years and it used to just be an auto replier, they'd set it to email you every couple days and ask for more info or whatever.
Then one day I sent in a ticket and got a reply within minutes, it'd obviously searched through the data from their ticket system and had found the exact error and given me the fix straight away. Before that would have been a person trying stuff, searching, trying other stuff and eventually we might have got there or found a workaround. It did it in minutes. Not surprising why they sacked loads of their staff last year. For things like this it's going to take over. Nobody really knows where it's going to lead, but it's definitely time to start learning how it works and include it in your job. That's where I'm at currently, which is a pain because most of the information I need is hidden behind vendor pay walls. It can search public forums and get good data out of that, but obviously the internal ticket systems has the real meaty content and they're going to guard that very closely so they can make people pay for it.

There's always going to be a need for network engineers, even when we ditch WiFi and have everyone using 8g direct connections or whatever it'll still be necessary to configure and support these systems. I want to move into SASE but my dumb company won't pay for it.

It honestly is mad though how much some people get paid for doing nothing. A few weeks ago I was working my arse off in a warehouse. 8 hours of walking and lifting heavy boxes for barely above minimum wage. I got a job in an office and it's been eye-opening. Most people are just chatting, sitting off and messing around. I walked into the HR office today and two of the girls were just sat on their phones. They're getting paid 30k a year to just sit on their phones. This is why the economy is in the shitter to be honest. You have people earning a somewhat okay wage (Northwest) just sitting around doing nothing. While you have people working their arses off in retail, hospitality, warehouses or factories etc. Is mad what the world has come to, to be honest

Since we're in actually in a world with artificial scarcity they need to keep people employed, but there isn't actually enough work to warrant it all. So all the white collar jobs basically do like 2 hours of work a day and then just have to fill the rest of the time. If they let people work only what was required then everyone would be sitting around thinking too much and they'd come to the conclusion that the powers that be are really fucking up the world for their own personal gain. Can't have the masses waking up to their fuckery, so keep them busy in 9 to 5s and they'll be so exhausted from looking like they're working that they won't have time to think.

40 hours is 40 hours, I dont think wagies should be taxed into a corner for not doing a real job, country is bloated to fuck, we quite literally dont need tens of millions of people but unless you make them disappear then people have to pay to live and people would rather do a non job than actually work for these tiny wages, if the juice was worth the squeeze and you could actually grow on this island id encourage actually putting in the effort but I put in the effort and I see that everyone gets funneled into 30-50k positions and you just get taxed no matter what you do, why actually try at this stage? might as well conserve my energy and work on things that I care about considering career growth is mostly pointless, at this stage I dont blame the neets or people going for easier positions. Plus retirement isn't going to happen, got to pace yourself.

sad, this. she was quite pretty (she'd be 19 today if she hadn't killed herself, so this is fine to say). waste of a high-quality person.

at least if it's a longer ban, he can appeal. Helper is a good lad, i'm sure it's all been a misunderstanding.

I remember when I went to Japan they'd often just make up jobs so that more people were employed. There were people "working" just stood outside entrances to parking garages, ensuring nobody got run over. In the UK there would just be some traffic lights or something

I just been to swanscombe fish and chips I ordered small cod and chips the bloke said 2 minutes ok I said yeah fine anyway I know to cook cod takes longer but after about 15/20 minutes he got the cod out and put it into the shelf display to keep warm then put chips in the tray then the phone rang and he started talking looking in his fridge and walked off so looked at the cod and it was flat and shorts could of easily fit it in the palm of my hand so I thought I ask him if that was mine but he was to busy ordering stock on the phone after another 15 minutes he still hadn't appeared so even though them trays keep them warm they don't keep them hot so after another 5 minutes no show so I left and I thought if that was my smedium cod and chipsit was not worth 5.50 for that cod it was so small that shops got so expensive now and by the looks of things he didn't care about customers anyway so won't be going back there got the other chip shop to use now anyway

i have yeah. just found the top one on Allrecipes, think it was just lamb mince (and maybe flour or bread crumbs) in a loaf tin. came out fine, like a less greasy kebab, but the meat mix wasn't right. tasted of lamb innit.

got a recipe link for the lamb + beef one lad?

I spoke to Zirkzee - the bouncer at Het Transportbedrijf - about Donvesh and he said that he's his biggest inspiration. He says a lot of people compare him to Donvesh, and that's fine because Donvesh is one of his heroes and he wants to be just like him.
