Could have been Arsenal's greatest win since 2017 FA Cup final today. So close even with UAERefball>>144611839Arteta said in a press conference after Spurs that Timber and Calafiori are currently managing injuries, they are fit but they experience cramp, muscle fatigue, soreness after 70+ min
You lot deserve this
>>144611839cala was fulfilling media duties afterwards, i doubt he's in any serious pain. he should be alright, timber I don't really know. he seems to switch off late in the games. could be possibly his injury recovery and just adjusting to the pace of the game
>>144611941>>144612039As long as it's not too serious then hopefully it'll be fine. Still got four games to go before a break. Also I don't really know what to think of Calafiori yet. The goal was obviously sublime but I don't think this was the perfect match to get an impression of him. He got beaten for the first goal and there seemed like a fair few miscommunications between him and other players but this is also his first proper game so that probably is why. Timber I'm not too worried about after the Spurs game other than him being physically fit.
>>144612039>seems to switch off late in the games. feels like this is what cost us today. 97 min. we finally believed it was possible. tired heads and legs. they scored a nothing goal. just have to play to the whistle and remain focused.
>>144612259Timber was gone already by that point but it definitely was just fatigue that cost >us (ignoring Michael Oliver) imo. Defending for a whole half one man down against Man fucking City is going to take a hell of a toll mentally and physically.
Was looking to be one of the most entertaining games of the season but instead we got the slurpiest half of football ever played.
Every year my enthusiasm for the season disappears quicker than the last. Every year I say "yeah I'd take a draw at City/Liverpool if you offered it to me" and then end up depressed with the draw. Feel like I don't get positive feelings out of this sport. I stopped watching F1 for similar reasons. I never want to be the kind of fan who roots for bad things to happen to the opposition. Feels like the kind of thing you can't take back. God, England is such a hole, spiritually speaking. The EPL is their most potent means of exporting British National Misery since the Lee Enfield Rifle. Maybe I'll try to watch Serie A or the Bundesliga for a bit and see if my issue is purely with PGMOL or if it's like this everywhere and I should just start scaling down my fandom generally. Pic unrelated. Got a laugh out of me.
MLS getting booked before his debut was quite funny, definitely a future trivia question
We go again
City media group are managing the story of the game well. Arsenal are now masters of the dark arts, City are the only team that tried to play football and Arteta is a classless crybaby.
>>144613776Never thought I'd find a team more despicable than Barcelona and Chelsea.
>>144613776this is why the controlling the narrative is so important
>>144613276>then end up depressed with the draw. That in itself should be seen as a positive though. I can understand why that would be disheartening but it's nice that people expect to actually win these games when a handful of seasons ago they were just 12 points gone. Give me a double digit negative goal difference as well and there will be no further questions. It was just a done deal.

I don’t know how Klopp lasted all those years being robbed by the bald fraud and 115 Charges FC. You could say that in 2022-23, we ran out of steam and we were never really gonna win the title unless City collapsed. However, last year we were robbed of several points by the referees which handed City the title, and this year we’ve been robbed of 4 points in 5 games already. This team deserves so much more.

I genuinely think it might be impossible to beat City to a title. They just play on a different difficulty level than us. They’re playing on easy mode and we’re playing on Dante Must Die mode.We have about 10 London derbies a year, historic rivalries with Liverpool and Man United, and the referees are out to get us. City get referee help and the only derby they play is against Man United, who care more about beating Arsenal and Liverpool than they do about beating City. They are such a non-entity, you can’t fucking beat them. The only truly difficult matches they will have this season is when they come to the Emirates and Anfield.

If we lost against Spurs or City, no-one would be giving us any sympathy about how we were missing Odegaard and Merino. this year is the first time i've believed since 2015-16 (didn't believe it 22-23). last time before that must've been 07-08
>Wolves (H)>Villa (A)>Brighton (H)>Tottenham (A)>Atalanta (A)>Man City (A)This is the most brutal start to a season I can remember
>>144631792Let's see that one with 11 vs 11 or only with teams that played away to Man City. Way to few games to make any sort of statistical conclusion.
>>144632780Why did you believe 15-16? We were awful all season. It was either Leicester or Spurs that were going to win that one. I still get shocked when I'm looking at the table and somehow see us up there.>>144632780Was 07-08 the season where Eduardo got his leg broken? Because that is the last time I believed.

>>144633536thought that chelsea was in really poor form (and they were, mourinho got sacked in dec). city started well but fell off, we started poor but had some form in mid september or so. i honestly thought alexis and giroud could take us to the league. i never thought tottenham would win it and leicester were just waiting to fall off a cliffand yes, 07-08 was the season gallas had a tantrum, eduardo got his foot bent back like a paper clip and we drew 4 games when we just needed to win 2
>>144634003all we had to do back then was sign shay given for like 7 million.but also, its so insane how Wenger didnt keep anyone past 2006. Campbell and Lauren won a FA cup in Portsmouth in 2008. A. Cole we all know club fucked up there. Vieira was always gonna leave so thats fair. Henry maybe he stays a bit more happy with some of the old guard, but moving him on wasnt the worst either. Pires was still good for Villarreal but the UCL soured Pires and he wanted to go. But keeping atleast Ljungberg was finished so that was fair. Bergkamp was old and retired. Lauren and Campbell should have been kept. They were still good and they would have been smart signings due to still having ability, but also due to their leadership and personality. They would not have allowed Gallas stuff to happen even with a leg break. Fergie kept Giggs, Neville, Scholes, Wes Brown and O'shea for ages and I believe it really helped Man United.
>>144631792
Why are Arseshit players such massive pussies? I remember Kdb manhandling Arteta and no one doing anything. Is that why you like the team? Fellow bully victims?

>>144632661>>144632759>>144632689These old pics just reminded me I've been thinking of a theory lately: has the game become too serious in the last few years? We might have been utter shit during the banter era but we were still mostly having fun. Both on and off the pitch and even in these threads, it didn't feel like a matter of life or death back then like it does now. Does anyone else feel it?
>>144634415People have just gotten more dramatic. That's it.
>>144634415It’s always gonna feel worse when you actually have something to lose. The real tragedy is that title races are no longer marathons. Last year we missed out on the title because we had one bad week in December. Going against City, you have to be perfect all the way through with no space for mistakes. They really ruined this league.
Am I missing something? Why are people trying to claim that the Gabriel’s goal shouldn’t have counted? Is it illegal to stand next to a keeper?Lmao, all these teams are shit at set pieces so they want our dominance at them to not count. It’s desperate and hilarious.
we're going to be 1st due to rodri being ded, then city will get a points deduction or whatever, then we'll win the title but everyone will meme that it doesn't count because of city's deduction. i knew it would be like this the moment they said the outcome would be before the end of this season, i just didn't know for sure because rodri wasn't injured yet. i thought maybe we would win the league because of it, rather than get told it's a fake title (like some people do with liverpool's despite them being so far ahead when covid lockdown started)
>>144634415When you know there is nothing at stake and you are so far off the top then things tend to feel easier, also people started watching Arsenal on during different eras so they might have not been as jaded as they are now. Doesn’t help that the whole world has basically gone to hell since covid with no betterment in sight.
>>144634608>”haha you only won the league because of the points deduction”Lmao I don’t give a FUCK, we still would’ve won the league
>american flagkek
>>144634589It's illegal to block the goalkeeper from attempting to reach the ball if you aren't making an attempt to play the ball yourself, it's called obstruction. This will be clamped on big time now that Pep and co have called it out.
>>144634415i actually feel the complete opposite way. back then it felt like the club was hanging on by a thread and if we didn't get champions league we would be absolutely fucked for many years to come (which turned out to be true) so every single result mattered so so much. now i expect us to win most games, and if not, oh well city will rape the league anyway. 2022-23 was exciting though. but for me personally it still meant less than before because the game has had its soul ripped out of it, and because i have grown older (only 28 though) and no longer care about stuff like professional sports as much.
>>144634589because they have no clue, VAR checked it, ref panel checked it and they all said the same, keepers aren’t entitled to free space in their box, was there contact ? Sure but Ederson fell down like a sack of rice and it’s his teammate’s job to ensure that he has the space to come out and claim a cross. It’s the same thing that Arsenal’s defenders and keeper heard for years, you gotta be stronger.
>>144634656Ederson was nowhere near the ball so you can’t call it obstruction. Also, how come this “rule” didn’t exist when players were pulling Ramsdale and Leno down in the box and the goals were being given against us?
>>144634589Now that Arsenal are good at set pieces, it’s suddenly illegal to be good at set pieces

>>144634589don't think other fanbases are really saying this, i heard way more people talk about his challenge with porroi think even ederson understood that he was begging the foul because he felt out of place, which is why it wasn't really contended by him, as far as i know
>>144634608don't worry lad, the verdict isn't until the summer so city can both win the league and be demoted to league 2

rodri getting injured makes no difference whatsoever btw. de bruyne got injured for months during the middle of that 18-19 season yet city ended up going on a win streak from january to may, their backline also got crippled for most of the early part during the qatar WC season yet they still won the league after a three month win streak from february to may, ruben dias got injured during the crucial part of the 21-22 title run yet they only conceded 2 goals in 4 games (all of them were against liverpool at the etihad)

Or if it during a match then there is no gamesmanship besides not going to actively break someone’s legs like Stoke do. Other than that keeping the ball, hoofing it away or any other legal act can’t be considered unsportsmanlike. Plus this is “last season” so what are they on about? gundogan and kyle walker gave the responses one would assume that well adjusted people would give
>>144644902We're unbeaten so far and have gotten through 3 of the toughest away matches we're going to have this season. All of this is despite losing our captain and one of our major midfield signings, and both the draws were arguably down to silly red cards rather than any serious systemic problems with our teams. >>144645598Honestly, the atmosphere might be a bit flatter than usual considering it's a midweek Carabao Cup fixture against relatively weak opposition. If you need to catch the Tube after the match, it might end up being quicker to walk to Finsbury Park or Highbury & Islington since the Arsenal station gets super busy when 60k fans are flooding out of the Emirates at once. Otherwise enjoy the match, and get a few drinks in at one of the surrounding pubs beforehand if you like. The old Highbury Stadium is not too far from the Emirates if you're not a local and you wanted to check that out too. They've turned it into private flats so you can't usually go inside but they've kept the outside of the East Stand still intact if you want to see it from the outside.

>>144644088You need to stop thinking of De Bruyne as the player he was 5 years ago, he’s been in decline for a while and is basically a squad player right now similar to Modric. Rodri is the most important player for City and we have a clear example of how weak they are without him based on the results they had in the games he missed last season.City are still the favorites to win the league, of course, but this is the biggest injury blow they could have had.
>>144646427Yes, because >we and the council are too cheap to pay to upgrade it. That's also the reason we won't expand the stadium, because we Holloway Road would need to handle the extra capacity. >>144645598Just enjoy. Go early to soak up the atmosphere around the stadium and nearby pubs or restaurants. Maybe buy something at the Armoury (help the club coffers). I never made a special deal out of going to games back in the day but it was always a special experience, even the games I attended that we lost.
>tfw imaging winning the league at the end of the season and seeing an Arsenal player getting quoted saying “We knew we were winning the league when we saw them celebrate a draw at home against 10 men. A weak mentality.”
>>144646508I agree that it's Rodri, but it's almost 50/50 with Haaland. They brought back Gundogan, and they sold Alvarez. So without Rodri they can have a decent midfield, but if Haaland is out it's a makeshift fuckery with Foden centrally.
City plays in League Cup in less than 3 hours by the way, doubt there will be even one PL starter in the squad, but can be a curious watch.
>Wolves defender Mosquera set to miss rest of seasonAhahahahaha! Boys, don't worry, karmic shamanic ways are on Arsenal's side this season.

A taller Raya would be incredible and probably what the club is still looking for. Probably not as keenly right now because Raya is holding it together but he definitely can be upgraded, at least on paper.

Confirmed in the team>Sterling, Calafiori, Saliba, Partey, Saka, Gabriel, Kiwior and Jesus also have their shirts in the dressing room.Confirmed not playing tonight>Benjamin White was not spotted with the rest of the Arsenal squad ahead of the Bolton match tonight>David Raya was not spotted with the squad at the team hotel ahead of Arsenal’s Carabao Cup tie with Bolton. >Jurrien Timber was not spotted with the Arsenal squad at the team hotel today ahead of Bolton clash this evening.

>>144662482According to this Nichols is the LB and MLS is the RB?
>>144662482I'm strangely excited for this game. Also surprised to see Arteta back the 16 yo keeper over Rojas who's 18 I'm pretty sure>>144662496No, other way around
In my recent days of coping I have found my new cope for why injuries can be a good thing longtermIt forces the rest of the squad to step up, get more comfortable and contend for spots. This means you can trust them more when players return from injury
>>144662458I know but that anon has been asking pretty much normal questions up to this point so it kind of threw me off a little .>>144662482>Sakawtf Arteta

we need to win this cup. we need trophies asap.
Wtf is sky sports + and how do I access it from sky go on my console?
>>144662512Fwiw running an agenda against a vertically challenged gk is less gay than this
is there no english stream then
>>144663324It's on sky sports + which apparently is only available on the sky go mobile app. I guess IPTV it is for me.
>>144663302It exists like a "physical" channel, at least i have it in IPTV kek.
>>144663214Wouldn't really be a successful season if all Arsenal win is the league cup. Even winning it for the women these past couple of seasons has been meh, for their high standards.
stream?
What's the point of IPTV? How is it any better than just picking some random stream?Or is it something entirely different than what I have in mind?Over here IPTV is usually some app that you pay some random retard online to access that just has an updated list of streams for different channels.

uff ….. gonna be a long evening
i've got a bad feeling, so i put a fiver on bolton qualifying @10.00
wouldn't mind us losing if he's still gonna play sakamental how he seems to genuinely want him to have a rooney career
I know 7/11Raheem Sterling is such a bizzare signing
Which one of these yutes am I supposed to be the most excited for? Besides Nwaneri
>raheem shilling
sterling perc 30
Trying to walk it in yet again I see
Who /comfy/ here
sterlingbros...
>12 min vs Lolton and not leading 2-0Artetttttaaaaaaa
>>144663560Lewis-Skelly imo. Mostly because he's next in line when >our 8th LB inevitably gets injured.
>>144663580i got the window open just so i can have the blankie wrapped around my shoulders
>>144663609Why am I supposed to be excited for a youth LB when our team has 10 different left backs already. is he that good?Where is that Arsenal yute with an Arab sounding name? I saw him over the summer and he looked like a fuckin beast tbqh
NEED sterlel to start scoring and redeeming himself
took long enough
Gooooooooool de Arroz
damn that looked easy for ricegreat goal
Rice, Rice, baby.
Based Rice. Also fagriel gaysus is an absolute shitter and is lucky to have not conceded and penalty just before.
if raheem kardashian doesn't score he has to take the cornrows offshave him in the bolton away changing room and don't bother to clean it up
WELL IN DECCERS
RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE RICE WHO KNEW JUST TAKING A SHOT FROM OUTSIDE THE BOX WOULD BE THIS EFFECTIVE >>144663634Like I said because he'll be next in line when >our 14th LB gets injured. And also because apparently him and Nichols are fairly well rated relative to the level they play in. And you're probably thinking of Ow, Salah! My hand! Don't know what he's upto desu.
Stay humble
>>144663705desperately need a LB in january
how tall is this keeper? Looks like a goblin
>>144663691do you think his wife allows him to go get fulfilled by other women?
Lel, Kiwior is getting more and more annoyed
The 100 million man paying himself off!
>>144663717Only after getting 3 keepers first.
>>144663705What is the Arab kid's name I genuinely don't know. Just googled, I think he is Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand?
>>144663565doesn't work as a nickname as shilling was just a denomination of sterlingit's like calling him raheem poundjust sort of shiti prefer calling him a dead or a notoriously weak currency, eg. raheem peseta, raheem lira, raheem rupee
>Maldini on the bench
>>144663766instead of being a full sterling pound, he's only a shilling
Why the FUCK is Arteta playing Saka? Is he stupid?
>>144663764Oh yeah, it was Ow lad, my hand. Forgot Salah was his first name instead.
>gabi failjus
does jesus not have a tradwife or something? why has he become so allergic to scoring goals
>gaysus
ethan's looking confident
>>144663813He's really good. He impressed me almost more than Nwaneri this summer.... Salah-Eddine is a beast
Nwaneri looks ready. Checks all the boxes.
>jay
>>144663787yeah but i'm saying calling him either of those is shit. calling him shilling is nothing to do with calling him less than a pound because sterling is not a pound, it's the overarching name for the denominations of sterling that you've mentioned there
>>144663850>raheem farthing>raheem halfpenny>raheem three farthings>raheem penny>raheem tuppence>raheem thruppence>raheem groat>raheem sixpence>raheem shilling>raheem florin>raheem crown>raheem quid>raheem guinea>raheem sterling
someone really should take him aside and explain this cut is not working on ANYONE let alone him
>>144663843eh idk, seems like we're just playing way better because we're playing with more confidence and imposing ourself on themjust look how aggressive we're being compared to the atalanta game
>>144663766are rupees and lira actually weak currencies? i thought they had way more of those currencies in circulation but didn't really change much, indicating a solid consistent currencyi got no clue though
>>144663881Just overall movement, perfect weight he puts in his passes, how he protects the ball with his frame. Looks like 20+ yo senior player, not 17 yo.
>>144663834Might actually end up seeing him this season if injuries keep piling up
>>144663866now, using every single denomination of sterling in the same post makes it work, as it's taking the name sterling and mocking it by being absurdly literal (though including sterling at the end is not good)this way, you haven't implied a misunderstanding of what sterling meansi'm not sure i can really describe the subtlety of what i'm getting at when i'm this tired. it just doesn't work
sterling doing his best impression of anne frank
>>144663913i'm still not convincedone positive thing about him I'll say though, is that he's never come on and I thought he played badly. To me he's just been consistently average, but I'm optimistic about him for sure.
can Jesus and Sterlel pls score a goal to get their confidence up, we really need a few goals coming in, can’t rely on the occasional Kai goal and set pieces forever.
>>144663943Idk how you can watch Nwaneri and think he's been "average". He has better decision making than most professional top flight midfielders already
>>144663956No goals for them so Arteta can strong-arm Kroenke to get Gyokeres in january.

heh, my boy sterlingz..... he just needed more time
Nwaneri with the goal, MLS with the top tier pre-assist
I really thought that cunt score an own goal and ruined Nwaneri's moment
sterling was a cheap, risk free loan so we have a body to play winger. yeah he's pretty shit but it doesn't matter much. obv we should have signed an actual winger for the long term but having him is better than nothingand there he goes with an assist
>>144664013>i just know india's a shitholei see your pointjust remember that india wanted to keep bumsdale instead of raya
