> The language barrier has also become an obstacle much harder than what he could've imagined: I’ve progressed in Spanish, I’ve taken some courses, I invested in that and I understand almost everything. But when I want to express myself a bit, I’ve found myself on the limit, and it’s a bit rubbish when I try to integrate myself."

>"The Spanish form a bit of a block in the team, everything’s in Spanish on the race radio, and that’s complicated in the important moments of the race. Right now, I’m not giving them anything and they’re not giving me anything. It’s complicated.”

> Joining Movistar Team in 2024, Remi Cavagna is keen to showcase his talents in the Spring Classics and the 28-year-old has made Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders in particular, big targets of his for the coming year.

>“Paris-Roubaix will be a pleasant discovery. It is a course that attracts me," the former long-time Soudal - Quick-Step stalwart says in quotes collected by Wielerflits. "I would like to get to the start without any pressure, to see what I can do. It's been a long time since I rode on cobblestones.”

>Cavagna already has a clear plan in mind for his Classics preparation. "I would like to contest one or two semi-classics in the run-up to the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix," the former Vuelta a Espana stage winner concludes. "It is good to get a feel for the cobblestones again in a slightly less important race, such as Gent-Wevelgem."

this

And i know its not quite on topic but im in the market for a bike now. Budget wise im looking at max 1500euro

I narrowed it down to 2nd hand: Cannondale supersix evo himod (pre 2020), scott addict, some Wilier (cento or gtr team depending if they have decent groupsets and wheels) and maybe Look 695. Did i miss any decent Bikes i should look out for?
Found some Simplon pavo 3 that looks very similar specwise to the supersix evo but never heard of the brand anyone know if they are decent?

Or should i bite the bullet and save up and buy a 2k dickbreak aero fully integraded fredsled? I never rode disks so im not sure if i want them... But i do like the fully integrated look.

also I used a bioremediation tank to clean a bike chain earlier during the day. Never had my chain as clean as it is right now, although it's the first time i actually took out the chain for cleanings so I guess it's not really more effective than a bath in degreaser or in an ultrasonic bath. Kinda cool how it works though and no need for excessive amount of cleaner. I gotta watch some park tool videos to find out how to take out the jockey discs next and put those in the sink thingy

This man is SEVERELY autistic.

Do not make loud noises near him.

Do not shine bright lights near him.

Do not look him directly in the eye.

Doing any of the above may set him off on an autistic rampage that could endanger the lives of many.

Tadej Pogacar did 11 races over 4000 vertical meters this year, he won 9 (12-10 if you count Pla d'Adet who is 10 meters shy from 4000)

Who are the two riders able to win over him?

Hardcore mode: who are the 8 riders who finished 2nd behind him? (one happened twice)

And now knowing that both WC and Lombardia are over 4000 what do you think will happen?

I ranted about this in cyc a while ago. From my experience testing around many different units (no single sided) from different brands from friends and local cycling club is that almost every single pm reads different. Looking at the average numbers of all units the difference between the lowest reading and the highest reading was around 16%, I used me own favero pedals as base line.
What's more is that some were inconsistently off reading much lower at low power and higher at high power. It's all smoke and mirrors man the absolute power number does not exist. Don't even get me started on peak numbers kek

>>
>>144645299
I don't think hr is reliable because it varies a lot depending on fatigue, temperatures and what not. The takeaway from all this is that if you want to know where you stand compared to others you should look at more values than just a power number (speed, vam)

>Asked whether Evenepoel will prepare for Milan-Sanremo and the Tour next spring, Lefevere answers negatively. “Remco didn’t really like that. While we actually wanted him to start in the Primavera this year. A 300-kilometre race could be useful then. But cycling has simply changed. The big guns no longer need Milan-Sanremo as preparation. They train differently now. Remco will undoubtedly do Sanremo and the Tour one day, but not now. Maybe only after he has achieved his big goal: winning the three major tours. After that, we’ll see. The main thing will be to keep an eye on Remco to ensure he continues to enjoy himself.”

>Lefevere says that the Giro-Tour combo was already on the agenda this year. “Remco wanted that, but his trainer (the Dutchman Koen Pelgrim, ed.) changed those plans. But for 2025 it is realistic. Pogacar has shown that it is possible to win both in a row. Anyone who knows Remco knows that he gets motivation from that. Of course that entails a completely different preparation. Then he has to peak for the first time in mid-April, because his season will start later. For the Giro he might still be able to start in Milan-Sanremo.”

>Of course, it remains to be seen whether Pogacar will also attempt the Giro-Tour double this year. The Slovenian's list of achievements still has a zero after the Vuelta. But Lefevere is not just warning about Pogacar. "Watch out for Ayuso. They are not talked about as much, but Team UAE is a real armada. They have already won more this year than we did in our record year when we recorded 75 victories."

Nice Patje's interview

the rice is for my basic huge slop meals, which is basically a variation of pork with rice and veggies. Currently on rotation I've been making a lot of japanese style curry and burrito bowls.

The tortilla chips are just for mass snacking. I tend to make homemade salsa quite often. I made pic related a few days ago, gonna make a salsa tatemada with the tomatoes tomorrow.

really doesn't last that long desu. A typical non-breakfast meal for me is between 200g ~240g of rice (measured uncooked). Sometimes I use durum wheat pasta as a main starch for a period of time during the year but I haven't done that in months. Potatoes I reserve only for some special dishes that I make rarely, because I hate prepping potatoes. Asian noodles I'd use as well as often as I do with durum pasta for red gravy. I used to eat a lot more bread, especially for breakfast, but I've been lazy with the bread making and haven't made any in months.

Last time I bought 2x8kg bags of rice was at the beginning of August and I just ran out today.

nah, it's all gentle stretch-and-fold — it's also 100% freshly home-milled so it's a lot trickier to work with; I mill in the evening and start the autolyse (with salt), in the morning I inoculate ~1/3 of the dough and around midday mix it with the rest of the dough, let it rise while I do some gluten development, shape it in the evening then into the fridge before baking it the next morning

a lot of steps but not very much time hands on

desu even manlets need to eat big in the sport of ciclismo. And 200g of rice measured dry is about 720~30 kcals, which sounds about right for the amount of calories from carbs in a normal meal for an active adult male. Add some meat and fats for around 1000kcal per meal, times 2, plus a breakfast, plus snacks or a shake or something for anything around 2500kcal to 3500kcal. I'm a king of manlet turbo skellington myself

wow now that is dedication, most bougie flour I've ever used was pic related and although it's pretty good, it's not the most bougie there is. I've used only t50 and a fully wholemeal flour from that brand. Oh and some caputo red bags 00 for pizza for a brief period of time, great for extensibility but man it wouldn't brown in a conventional oven. I wonder if I manually added barley malt it would have made it the pizza darker.

I recently started counting my calories. Horrifying discoveries. Just ate a cherry bakewell. That's 200 calories. You get 6 in a box. On multiple occasions I would have had 6 in one day.

Always knew it was easy to lose weight but never knew how easy. Just don't eat junk. Simple as that. You can have 3 large meals and snacks and still lose weight once you're not eating calorie dense shite. Obvious stuff, I just never paid any attention to it before because I've been skelly my whole life through brute force of training every day.

Let me present you the boring team
>>
>>144651575
As a relative manlet (190cm with a cycling inseam of 92cm) I find that long bibs are oftentimes long enough, but the real problem is casual non-cycling clothing. Say you want to buy good casual trousers like fatigues, double knee pants, cargos, carpenter pants, chinos etc. from higher end brands like Orslow, Engineered Garments, Buzz Rickson's, Real McCoys, Jelado, Brut, Kapital, Monitaly etc. All of them have inseams up to 80cm AT MOST, with most having something silly like 75cm. They only fit 170cm Japanese guys properly. For dressier trousers I like made to measure and bespoke, no problem getting the right fit there, but MTM and tailors can't provide similar casual pants like the brands I mentioned, or the pants can't be garment dyed. So at best I and other taller gentlemen are stuck with boring jeans or MTM chinos that are equally boring, even if they fit well.
>>144657826

Eh, had to let my old man go.
He was fine when I picked him up at home, looking weak, plodding along but curious, purring - this was the usual for the last year or so.
When I arrived at the vet he looked like he got a bullet along the way. Lying on his side, no usual fighting and screaming at the vet, virtually at the death bed, got his blood checked, renal and general multiorgan failure.
Luckily, as there was a chance he is not waking up from the teeth procedure that was planned, I did have a quality 30mins with him before I left for the vet - if it was the last time - and did make sure he knows I was there when he was getting the final shot.
And he didn't really have to get the final shot, he was almost cold after the pre-pre-last shot tranqulizer.

Thanks for reading my sad blogpost, but it is not really, all went well, he had a long, 19,5 year cat life, was pampered and didn't suffer more that he wanted, this last ride was like he knew he is due and waited until at the vet to stop fighting.
Seen a black cat right after, wanna think it is mine waving and saying thanks from above.

Was supposed to do 3x40min sweetspot but just couldn't even get the third set properly started. I don't know what do do right now with my raping setup, the problem is that the boiler room gets all hot and humid when I push big watts, and since it's quite warm and humid outside as well, opening the garage door (which usually helps a lot in the winter) doesn't really do much. I might buy a dehumidifier but not too stoked about it since those cost quite a bit and I am not too certain it will help all that much. A week ago outside I did 3x37min, no problem, but the endurance inside is just lacking which is a shame. Maybe I'll try and put some ice cubes in a stocking and put that under a bib or something.

100% home cat, lived all his life in a commieblock, I tried getting him out a few times but he was so overstimulated each time it took him a good 5 minutes to unfreeze and start exploring.
I don't like these freeroaming cats tobehonest, they just kill everything, for fun and for most of the time it is not like you have too much birds or rodents around.

Pog for sure is winning this, he is also getting two times the breakaway points. Remco would be a top 3 guarantee 2 months ago, had a very unremcoish Tour of Bongland and has shown a depleted tank on this WC TT, barely holding on to a lead at the last kilometers against a mediocre Ganna.
The other approach is, ok, October Remco is not a July Remco but who is he losing to on a 270km parcours that is easier than Montreal.

I didn't think he should pwn the bordelands but losing to.. *checks PCS* Oscar ONLEY and Jelte KRIJNSEN?
He just didn't look good, any punch was almost weaker than against Pog in TdF
.
Now he has gotten better but him and Ganna better than the rest while the rest

It still not nothing, especially giving a minute into an in form AFFINI.

This could well be that he is riding himself right into a face of with HIRSCHI with no one else standing a chance.
Or maybe they ride with Pog too, the parcours may just be a little too easy for him.
