It's simple. Conference should be 10 teams large, and all teams should play a round robin schedule to determine conference champions. This is a bold, innovative, and unfamiliar plan I know, but I think it can work.

The ACC currently has a deal with ESPN and struggles to get their games on ABC over the SEC. This is the best time for there to finally be a great re-shuffling from 2 conferences who haven't been gutted (yet) at the top via conference realignment. The television networks will pay for the bluebloods and matchups that actually move the meter. When you're broadcasting blueblood vs. blueblood week in, week out, you're going to get high ratings. Look no further than the SEC which has been a massive success in it's first 2 years since adding Texas and Oklahoma into the mix.If the new conference only adds 8 schools, that gives everyone 5+ non-con games and 7 conference games. This is very similar to ND's current setup with the ACC, where they currently play 6 ACC opponents annually.
