They're literally just New52 Supergirl anon. The whole thing is in the Supergirl folder in the New 52 pack.

http://libgen.gs/comics/index.php?s=x-men+Chronology+volume&page=1
>>
>>1064237
Yeah, those are just the names of story arcs from Supergirl v6. Specifically issues #1-7 for Last Daughter of Krypton and #29-33 for Red Daughter of Krypton (though that arc does have some crossover with the Red Lantern book too).

Doomsday Clock is the name of that actual comic, rather than just a specific arc of a series.

>>1064242
>graphic novels
That term is honestly kinda a marketing ploy and doesn't really mean much of anything most of the time. Most "graphic novels" are just a collected version of single issues trying to be rebranded for "adults". But both the Killing Joke one-shot and the The Long Halloween mini series are there.

For The Killing Joke:
(1986-2011) Post-Crisis > Batman > Batman > Oneshots

For The Long Halloween:
(1986-2011) Post-Crisis > Batman > Batman > Mini-Series > (1997) Batman - The Long Halloween [#1-13]

70s Marvel recreates Batman, but doesn't want to recreate the legal battles of the 40 and 50, so they have to give him deep psychological issues but diagnosed, and super powers from an Egyptian god who really is an asshole.

90's Wildstorm recreates Batman, gives him prescience in combat and makes him Gay

Good stuff and I have the first run of Moonie physically that I actually bought at the convenience store.

It would appear that this is fan organized in a chronological pack. So, while all of this is indeed contain in the "ThatMegaPackAnon" collection, this is a different method of organizing and is still welcomed :)

Just probably best not to bundle it with all the other "ThatMegaPackAnon" magnet links :)

Also, I have a full collection of the chronological X-Men fan project. It can be found in ~73 individual torrents on 1337x. It isn't *AS* complete as the "ThatMegaPackAnon" X-men pack, but it is organized as a different way to consume X-Men in a fan-made chronological order !

Just different ways to enjoy the comics, that's all. thanks for the collection, anon :)

>>1067174
I was planning to release it in whatever pack has all the other Marvel imprints, like Ultimate MC2 etc. Pick related. I'm not sure how much will ultimately be in this folder so was keeping it back till later. The folder has already had some drastic changes with things I was sorting here but decided to move into other folders. For example Spider-Gwen was gonna be in here before decided it was more at home in the Spider-Man pack.

My old tablet that I used for years was 8 inches. I was happy enough with that. Was a convenient size and I never had an issue reading anything. But in the past week I got a new 12.4 inch tablet and I don't think I could go back.

I don't really miss physical. I would find they could be a pain to read, especially trades. I'd often read something digitally even if I had a physical copy. I do sometimes still read manga physically but comics I'll just pull up a digital version even if I have a physical.

>>
>>1067822
Oh right I thought you were on about something with Batman. It was just against Fawcett and a lot of people aren't aware but DC did actually lose that. The reason Fawcett stopped publishing Captain Marvel is because DC appealed it and then Fawcett settled out of court with DC because they didn't percieve it to be worth the money. Fawcett agreed to stop publishing Captain Marvel and then actually just outright shut down their whole comic arm and all their characters, even though that wasn't necessary for the agreement, since they didn't feel comics were worth all that much anyway.

That's not why Moon Knight has the differences he has, arguably Captain Marvel was as or more different than that to Superman really, and if DC were gonna come after Marvel like that, they'd have done it with Challengers of the Unknown against the Fantastic Four. Not to mention by this point Marvel already had the Squadron Supreme. That was such a product of its time, DC of then used a lot of bullying tactics to kill off its competition, they did that to Fawcett only because Captain Marvel was more successful than Supes at the time. Despite the perception of it being a hinderance forced on DC in truth the Comics Code Authority was actually something else DC (and others, particularly Archie) used as a weapon to kill off thier biggest at the time competitor EC Comics. It was drawn up by the comic companies themselves, and they specifically created limitations targeting EC Comics biggest stuff.

If DC could have strongarmed Marvel like that in the 60s or 70s they absolutely would have, and in fact did try, they just didn't succeed. DC had enough control of the industry in the late 50s to limit Atlas' distribution to prevent their growth, but as Atlas turned to Marvel and were having huge successes like F4, Spider-Man and Avengers they became too powerful for DC to strongarm like that.

So this depends on the kind of person you are, but I do still buy some physical trades because I like "owning" them. I like them as a display piece, and it helps support the creative teams. But I definitely vastly prefer reading on my tablet. Originally I was hesitant to get a tablet becuase of the upfront cost, and the only thing I'd ever use it for is reading comics. But I got one on contract as an add on with a phone, and felt I used it more than enough just for comic reading to justify buying a more expensive one years later.

>Want to get into eternals/celestials/other godlike creatures and how their system works.

The Jack Kirby stuff from the 70s is great. BUT if you're new to comics it might be a bit dense to get into Kirby stuff right away just because of its age. It's not unusual for people to really dislike comics from the 60s and 70s when they're first reading comics due to having a low tolerance for it, then grow to love some of that stuff years later. So it might not be a good idea to start there depending on how you take to older stuff.

More accessible for a modern reader though is Neil Gaiman's Eternals run from the 2000s.

I've not read the current run for Eternals, but Kieron Gillen is on of my favourite writers so I would be optimistic about it.

>>1067895
Too many to list probably but Ultimate Spider-Man and Kingdom Come are often the first two that come to mind.

>>1068038
Other than Malibu the Marvel packs so far are sort of just a temporary pack and not the full thing. There will be replacements for those with more stuff most likely. But while I'm still working on it those temp packs will do for now. DC I have no plans to update any time soon though. Modern comics are very easy to seek out pirated copies, this collection is more intended to share a large (and organised/structured) collection that is hard/time consuming to put together and has some harder to come by stuff too. But I'm not really planning to have a constant revision of things. I think it's easy enough for anons to get newer comics themselves.
>>
>>1068110
Lmao Ultimate spiderman and kingdom come are perfect and exactly what I was about to say !!
>>
I've been on TPB searching for "chronology" in the comics directory and found a lot of Marvel stuff that is in no way complete but very interesting as it is from the very dawn of supe comics. It's also been fairly easy to make an Image comics folder out of some of these torrents.

Not much luck with Charlton or Dell stuff. I wish my books about comics weren't all in a storage locker

I could never get into the Fawcett Captain Marvel, but I think DC has been pretty good to the character . And I loved the movies, both Live action and animated .
>>
>>1068159
>but I think DC has been pretty good to the character
I know it was a really popular reboot for the character, but personally I hated what Geoff Johns did with him in N52 and have avoided the character ever since.

I did really love Ordways 90s run on the character though and he's the best part of Kingdom Come for me.

How the fuck do I start sorting this clusterfuck of a mess. Like, say I want to read "Death in the Family" but want to read the preceding shit or what it goes to next. Trying to find the comics that lead in / lead out are a pain, what can
>>
>>1069704
I recommend using a combination of DC wiki to see what issues are related,, and use YouTube recommendations. Lookup things like best superman comics or Batman comics and write down the ones that sounds good. Read by the run, for example - don't just try to read all of Thor, but rather read Jason Aaron's run on Thor. Here are some good YouTubers: nerd sync, comic drake, near mint condition (check out his reading order videos).

Also, the subreddits for both marvel & DC (and the subreddits for individual super heroes) all have great reading recommendations.
>>
MegaPackAnon, would you ever put together TMNT and Transformers packs? are your collections complete / up to date?
>>
>>1069704
>Like, say I want to read "Death in the Family" but want to read the preceding shit or what it goes to next. Trying to find the comics that lead in / lead out are a pain, what can

It varies a little situationally, but, I agree with anon >>1069808 for the most part you can use the writer to tell.

So A Death in the Family for example was part of Jim Starling's Batman run, issues #426-429 are the A Death in the Family story, but his full run is issues #414–430.

There are times when a writer carries on elements from a previous run in significant ways, but I'd say from around the 80s onwards generally speaking a writers run on a character will have its own start middle and end, even if there's a crossover of story elements. Though there are of course exceptions to this.

Also
>>1069808
>don't just try to read all of Thor, but rather read Jason Aaron's run on Thor.
As someone who does the "try to read all of X" approach, I can vouch for not doing that. Though that said, sometimes you do find hidden gems that get a bit lost to time and people never read them to put them on the popular recommendation lists. But usually most of the really worthwhile stuff is known about and recommended.

>>1069925
Transformers I'm a couple of years behind but I could put one together at some point. TMNT I lost a lot of that with an older HDD and would need to sort and rebuild a lot of it, but it's not something I'd be against. But right now Marvel is the focus and I don't wanna be making promises or setting expectations I don't meet.

Anybody have pdfs of those comic anthologies of on-shots that were put out after 9/11? They're pretty cringe. DC came out with two volumes, the first one was a little less cringe because it had a lot of Image comics guys in it.
>>
>>1070562
>DC came out with two volumes
DC only published 1 volume. It was a collaberation with Dark Horse and DH published the other.

The DC published collection is in the Post-Crisis pack, though as a cbr rather than a pdf:
(1986-2011) Post-Crisis > Other > Misc > 9-11 - World's Finest Comic Book Writers and Artists Tell Stories to Remember (2002) (DC Comics).cbr

Reporting in, I have uploaded TBs in seeds to this project alone now :) just looking for a status check, how is Marvel complete collection going? Are you working on anything specific right now? Is there anything proving hard to find? Just wondering how Marvel on a whole is going, and if you think you'll do like your DC through 2020, where you cap Marvel off at the end of 2021 with all of 2021 releases included?
>>

>Any chance of a guardians of the galaxy pack before the new game?
I can do better than that anon, I can post everything that's in the Cosmic folder for Marvel so far.

Also some anons may notice that the Warlock folder seems to skip from v4 to v6. It's not that v5 is missing it's just in the X-Men pack because unlike the ones in this pack that star Adam Warlock, Warlock v5 was about the New Mutants Warlock.

It's going fine but slow. At the moment I'm working on finishing what'll be the Timely pack. Everything from 1939 up to 1947 is done, once I finish up to 1950 I'll have the Timely pack ready to go, but their yearly output skyrocketed at the end of the 40s so the effort it takes to put together just series that debut in 1948 is comparable to the effort it took to do 45, 46 and 47.

Marvel will most likely get capped at whatever is current when I finish it.

I expect this to be one of the packs to generate the least interest, but I finally finished putting together all I can for the Timely era of Marvel comics.

Quick history lesson for anons that don't know:

Timely was the original name for the comic company that would become Atlas and then eventually Marvel.

Timely mostly operated during the first super-hero boom created by Superman in the Golden Age, before rebranded to Atlas in November of 1951 when super-hero comics had been on the decline.

The bulk of this pack is super-hero stuff due to that, though Timely's last few years before become Atlas did see a huge increase in romance and western comics.

A lot of early Captain America and Namor comics in here as the most recognisable characters Marvel still use, there are a few others that were created back then in here too, but they're way less known and less used by current Marvel.

This is the second totally finished pack after Malibu. All the other Marvel ones are just temporary packs for works in progress.

It was a hassle putting together so I'm glad it's out of the way. Next finished pack will be Atlas (though I may end up distracted by other things along the way). Atlas similarly I expect to be a pain, but once I reach around 1957 things should become much easier for a while after that thanks to DC being able to sevely limit Atlas/Marvel's distribution for years.
>>
>>1073015
the real question is: is this interesting to read?
>>
>>1073080
It depends on your taste and what you're looking for anon.

For most people I would say, no. But some people get something out of golden age comics. I haven't read a tonne of them, but I enjoy some of them for what they are.

Generally though 60s is probably as far back as most people are gonna want to go and even then 60s comics are definitely not for everyone.
>>
>>1073080
For me, reading about the history of comics makes looking at the actual product of the times more interesting.

The Origins of Comics: From William Hogarth to Winsor McCay, by Thierry Smolderen, Translated by Bart Beaty and Nick Nguye
The Great Comic Book Heroes, by Jules FeifferThe Comic Book History of Comics, by Fred Van Lente and Ryan Dunlav
Men of Tomorrow: Geeks, Gangsters, and the Birth of the Comic Book, by Gerard Jones
The Secret History of Wonder Woman, by Jill Lepore
Stan Lee and the Rise and Fall of the American Comic Book, by Jordan Raphael and Tom Spurgeon
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon

Are in my library
>>
>>1073015
>Atlas similarly I expect to be a pain, but once I reach around 1957 things should become much easier for a while

So about that Anons, I dunno where I got the energy but after taking forever to put the Timely pack together, I managed to get Atlas ready in a couple of days.

Gonna wait until Timely is fully seeded to make the torrent but Atlas is ready to go and will probably be posted in a few days.
>>
>>1073260
There's not much superhero stuff in the Atlas pack. Atlas were active when superheroes were dying out, before their Silver Age resurgence. So the dominant genres of Atlas' time are horror, romance, war and westerns

Atlas went strong until 1957 when due to multiple factors were without a distributor and their only option was to turn to using the same distributor as DC. They agreed but Atlas was only allowed to distrubute 8 titles a month when they'd previously been doing well over 40 a month. That nearly was the death of Marvel before they began, but the situation kinda forced a change in direction which combined with various other factors lining up the way they did led to Marvel's 60s boom with Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Avengers etc.

I'm looking for good storys with some twists but the more important is character development: i don't want to see the MC being the same and never discover how he truly is. I came under the (fasle?) impression that old storys lack of storytelling, am i wrong ?

Even if i'm not interested in those packs, do you need someone to seed them anyway ?
>>
>>1073796
It would always help us if you seed them :)
>>
>>1073796
The old stuff is not so long-form as the newer work. A lot of it is slammed together by artists copying other artists and not always doing a good job. But there are clever moments in the old crime comics, and Stan and Jack's parade of monsters is funny enough. IDK, man. You have to find the gems yourself.

>>1073884
And this anon is correct.
>>
>>1073894
alright boys i'll take dat torrent and find out by myself
>>
>>1073919
It also prepares you in a way for the coming revolution. Stan, Jack, and Steve brought more complexity to the characters, which led to more capable writers coming to the fore and more experimenting. And that's when longer story arcs began appearing leading to the age we are in, where they are commonplace.

Everything up to the end of 1970 is now in place. Plus with how I build these a lot of what comes after is in place. So things should hopefully be easier for the coming decades. We are now at a point where the Marvel folder on my HDD is bigger than the DC one though, with lots still to go.

Also Tomasi and Gleason Supes is a good time. Enjoy.

Zenescope is the main publisher for that stuff, but the interior art often isn't great.

Aspen is another publisher who do that sort of stuff. They have way better art, but their stuff tries to be a bit more legitimate than Zenescope. May be a positive or negative depending on your viewpoint.

There's also Empowered and Tarot as individual series.

So, since Marvel didn't reinvent itself every other year like DC conveniently did, how will you proceed, by decades? Events? Some arbitrary choice?
>>
>>1076702
More or less my method is to go year by year in terms of building it.

But when I come to a new series, say Amazing Spider-Man v1 from 1963. Rather than just get ASM I try to get all of Spider-Man at that point. So a lot of the work for the 70s onwards is already done by the end of the 60s.

In terms of releasing it, Spidey and X-Men will be their own packs each because of how big each is. Beyond those I'll probably bundle various characters together for the most part. With a few other packs that aren't character based but for various imprints or tie-in/license stuff.
>>
>>1076700
how would you rate the quality of atlas era comics versus the timely era?
>>
>>1076705
I've never actually read any Atlas stuff honestly. So I can't compare to the little Timely I've read. But generally 60s is still the earliest I'd recommend to most people. So around the time Marvel becomes Marvel really.

I would say each decade closer you are to present the easier comics are for a modern reader to get into usually. But the 50s are when super heroes were at their least popular so if that's what you're looking for very little of that in Atlas,

There's also not much from the Atlas era Marvel keep around aside from the characters in the image. Though that might just be due to shifting taste in genres rather than a quality thing. Some of the western and teen stuff did have legs for a bit.

>Can you add the Marvel UK (Preferably with the Doctor Who and Transformers stuff)

They'll be in the finished packs. I was a bit undecided whether to do Marvel UK as its own dedicated pack or not, but in the end it's so often complimenting a US book that they'll be a bit spread out.

Doctor Who and Transformers will be in whichever pack has the licensed stuff. Though both are ready to go.

With Doctor Who Magazine the Marvel packs will only go as far a DWM #286, Which is technically 1 issue more than what was published under Marvel but adding just 1 extra issue completed the then current storyline. So it cuts off halfway through the 8th Doctor's era of the comics.

I can at some point down the line do a pack just for Doctor Who though that'll have the rest of DWM as well as the Polystyle, Radio Times, IDW and Titan stuff.

>>1076981
Sorry Anon I do not. Their flagship series is Fathom you can probably find a torrent for that at least if you look around.

Patsy, Namora, Detective Chimp, and I'm just not sure of the others...but I think you forgot somebody

And I can only see one seeder for Atlas and I'm at the six weeks point.
>>
>>1077375
>Patsy, Namora, Detective Chimp, and I'm just not sure of the others...but I think you forgot somebody
Namora is the only one in that pic (Detective Chimp isn't even Marvel). The image is the Agents of Atlas, which was originally a team of Marvel's pre-Marvel characters hence the meta name Agents of Atlas. (Though these days the Agents of Atlas are a team of Marvel's Asian characters which is totally not just them setting up a precedent to give MCU JImmy Woo his own spin-off called Agents of Atlas that bears no resemblance to the original comics).

Image is Marvel Boy, Human Robot, Derek Khanata (who's not actually a member of the team), Gorrila-Man, Jimmy Woo, Namora and Venus. That is pretty much the full team, dunno why you think someone is missing. If you mean Fin Fang Foom, he has nothing to do with that team and is from the time Marvel were becoming Marvel I don't really associate him with the Atlas era of comics, even if he did appear in that murky crossover period of Atlas ending and Marvel beginning.

Incidentally I'd recommend the Jeff Parker era of Agents of Atlas. Short read and I really enjoyed it. Can't speak for the MCU bait version of the team but it's Greg Pak that wrote that version and I did always enjoy his stuff back when I was reading Marvel.

>and I'm at the six weeks point.

Yeah, I need to spend more time reading comics, than I do reading about comics but it's just such a fun rabbit-hole to fall down and I love when my research brain gets triggered. One thing I'm still curious about though, is the difficult birth of digital comics. I remember win-o threads a few years ago where people were complaining about whether the comic they were going to download came from a 'scanner' rather than the company. I know scanning comics started with the fandom, and the big two had to catch up. I know some of the scanners got hired by the companies or were already there feeding the newsgroups. I should ask the cousin I got my first comic book drive from. Its mostly scans. Sorry for being dense.

>>
>>1081267
Nope. Just move the downloaded files and then set the directory in torrent browser options to whatever drive name location example: C:\Users\Buddy\Downloads
Might need to have the magnet do a recheck of the files before it will start to seed.
>>

In fact this is exactly what I did. moved all the torrent folders onto an external drive. then, in my torrent client, I moved the directory to match, and after a recheck I was up and seeding :)

Marvel everything up to 1980 is now in place. I also just finished putting together the stuff Marvel published under their Epic Comics imprint which should hopefully mean most of the 80s is done ahead of time combined with everything else already in place, but we'll see.

As for me I'm doing good, thanks. I'm getting close to a significant progress point on my current big DC reading project, so that's nice.

Update on the Marvel progress.

Everything up to 1990 is done and in place as well as a bunch beyond that. Currently 1.75TB in size.

Gonna take a break for a until I buy a new HDD since space is getting to be a problem and I don't wanna delete other things just to make room for this.

Having just the 90s, 00s and 10s left to go does feel like I'm really over a hump. But on the flip side the yearly output really starts to ramp up now.
>>
>>1086256
Do you need the new HDD to seed the torrent or just for the further collection, or both? I was hoping that we could get this chunk out of the way and seeded for everybody and then the last bit would be the dessert.

Even chunking it up might make it easier going. Just spitballing. You do you.
>>
>>1086282
I need it to free up space for the rest of the collection. But with some jiggery pokery with my externals I can move some stuff elsewhere and have the space anyway I think after I thought about it. Since hopefully what I've got left to put in place won't be 600GB worth of comics.

Releasing it comes back to the problem of I don't know how I'm gonna split stuff up till I have it all. Even some of the stuff released already I'm probably gonna need to make a changelog for people with the updated X-Men pack when I do that since there already was some mistakes or minor changes in what was released.

The 90s are such a grind, most of it is already in place too, it's just the time it's taking to seach and and make sure I have everything from each year in place before I seek out the few things missing.

Hopefully after the bankruptcy Marvel slowed down a bit, getting close to that.
>>
>>1088409
Well half of the 90s is done. Peaking ahead at the 00s and 10s seems like things will only ramp up then, which I expected.

Hopefully most of it is just bloat from relaunches becoming frequent and there won't actually be much I have still to get.
>>
>>1088409

I was under the impression from my reading that after the glut of the 90s variant covers and whatnot, that Marvel's output dropped after the collectors market went south.

Also worth noting, just glancing at them, these are heavily incomplete. The stuff missing admittedly likely isn't going to be a problem for most but it's worth being aware.
>>
>>1089753
Actually I take that back, there's stuff missing people definitely would want. I thought it was just it skipped over a lot of Golden Age stuff but looking at it I don't see this stuff from the 80s/90s:

Sandman
Captain Atom
The Demon (Etrigan)
Dr. Fate
Black Orchid
Batman and the Outsiders

And this is just stuff I noticed missing at a quick glance.
>>
>>1089758t
I think you're right about that. Sandman, of course, but Doctor Fate has some interesting arcs, and you don't want Batman's fans to come after you and the Outsiders become more important as Young Justice continues on TV. But do you have the time and energy to supplement DC while you build Marvel, or are you just warning us that you aren't omnipotent?
>>
>>1089827
The DC packs are complete and at the top of the thread.

I was just pointing out the DC reading order stuff is missing a lot for any anon who was interested in them.
>>
>>1089856
And overtired me lost the thread of the conversation from the beginning.

Don't we need a new thread?
>>
>>1089264
Nice. Enjoyed that Moon Knight pack you put out. Looking forward to the rest, might even go further than I did in Ultimates lol

Did anyone save the Ulti-Mate chronological UM collection he did on /co/ and uploaded it somewhere? I've scoured archives for so long now and found nothing, his original MEGA link has been posted in one of these threads before but that one link is long gone, seems MEGA took it all down.
>>
>>1090258
I've certainly never posted a MEGA for this stuff nor seen one posted. I wouldn't have the space available on a MEGA without paying a lot of money that I'm not willing to pay for cloud storage.

>>
>>1090284
so what are you going to work on next after the marvel pack? Or will you take a break?
>>
I'm ready to reset this thread. Just as soon as it archives
>>
>>1091456
I've no plans to work on anything. That's not to say I absolutely never will. But at the same time, I'm not saying I definitely will do more stuff either.
>>
>>1091689
ah maybe it was someone else talking about an image comics pack then
