What type of harp do you play? I manically bought way too many but my fav is Seydel Lightning
>>
>>1131383
don't play anything yet, man. I almost just picked one up. I actually lost a finger in an accident so I cannot play any of the common string instruments. I love the blues and I want to learn things well. I know that it's a magical instrument, other than that I'm not very sure myself what I'm getting into.

Very sorry to hear about your accident, Jerry Garcia played guitar with missing fingers though :) I got one for christmas and been playing it constantly, spent a lot of time researching. Would reccomend a Hohner Special 20 or Crossover in C, or a Lee Oskar in C if you're on a budget
>>

Also I'd strongly reccomend Adam Gussow, harmonica () com and Tomlin Leckie, on youtube for free tutorials

Honestly, you can find a lot of music pdfs just like generally where you would find other pdfs. A lot of the good old stuff in regards theory is relatively easy to find online. The hardest part is knowing what is and isn't worth your time and what is it that you need.

Look up UK classical grades as a way to get started and giving yourself material to learn at a fair pace. So like grade I is the starting one and then when you mastered those pieces move to grade II and so on. A friend of mine told me Wolfhart is good to practice sight reading for classical guitar. Otherwise your best bet would be to try and find a youtube tutorial on classical guitar right hand technique and anything will do for left hand technique and you have something to work towards.

>Classical guitar teacher here
I have a question for you. I wanted to learn playing classical guitar and I saw guitar teachers online saying that you have to get a teacher and self studying is something you shouldn't do. That demotivated me and I stopped pursuing this goal (self-studying is the only option for me) . Do you confirm this or you can get reasonably good at it while learning on your own? Btw, I'm not interested in playing recitals or whatever, just playing pop songs in fingerstyle arrangement (stuff like Yesterday and Tears in Heaven) or even cool covers in this style would be perfect for me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQDKxC9F7pQ
Of course some neat classical short pieces would be cool to learn too.
I think stuff like that could be done on my own eventually?

>>
Man, I wish there was more singing stuff. I'm still pretty young so my potential hasn't fully atrophied. Wish the world let guys sing again as kids.
>>
>>1143191
Of course that you could learn it by yourself. Having a teacher is safer and faster. Even if you know someone who is semi-proficent can be of great help. You can easily create bad habits playing alone. Yeah, Al di Meola plays grear guitar, I wouldn't bet on anyone playing like that on their own. If you caaaan't really get a teacher, get a friend. I'm saying this as someone who started alone and then went for a teacher. A good teacher forces you to dramatically improve your playing.

This torrent sucks. It's mostly videos which are an atrocious educational tool. You retain literally half the information compared to reading from a page and taking notes, and it takes longer to watch than to read.
I'm finishing a music degree atm and mostly wanted this to have good resources to give to my students. Looks like I will have to make something better. I will work on this and try to get it in this thread later on. If it's dead by then I will make a new thread. I do have other shit going on in my life but it seems there is a great need for music education material here so I'll get it together ASAP.
