I stopped seeding to prepare the next torrent since I'd seeded a few people to 100%. Usually I move on to the next torrent at that point. Came back to seed the FF & Other pack for now though since I guess the proportion of anons who hit and ran this time was higher.

So while the next pack is ready to go, it's delayed until this one has stable seeding.

Hey anon, about the Eternals folder in the last torrent...there's (at least) one corrupted file in:

Marvel\(1961-) Marvel Comics (Earth-616)\The Eternals\(2021-) Eternals v5 [#1-]\Eternals v5 002 (2021) (digital).cbr

The page 'Eternals (2021-) 002-004.jpg' is corrupted, and the page 'Eternals (2021-) 002-005.jpg' does not exist.

I tried to 'repair' with WinRAR but it didn't work (does it ever?).

I'm not sure if it's the only one corrupted.

But maybe it's the root of your torrent problems (not sure how, but at this point...)?

So, going forward, is there a way to test all files on your HDD to see if they are corrupted or not, then you could replace the ones corrupted before uploading a torrent?

We could also check the ones we already have now.

Finally, the original file by Zone-Empire (from getcomics.info for instance) is not corrupted.

I ended up rechecking the torrent, and I had over 2% to download still! Which means I had 6 GB of corrupted data...that's a first I think.

It's likely not the pack and just either something went wrong for you specifically while downloading or your HDD has some bad sectors and it was highlighted by this.

Back during the DC seeding another anon had something similar happen with one of the packs and tell me about corrupt files that turned out to only be corrupt on their end. These things just have a risk of happening with data transfers.

I explained before but there's 2 separate licensed folders. Basically some of Marvels licensed comics over the years were set in their main 616 universe. If so they're in a licensed folder inside the "(1961-) Marvel Comics (Earth-616)" folder.

If a licensed comic was not part of 616 then it was in the other licensed folder in the main Marvel directory. Though that's not to say none of the comics there ever interact with 616.

Tablet vs PC - Depends. I say tablet for portability to read while dropping a deuce or sitting outside or on the couch. If you cant afford a tablet PC is fine.

For PC use CDisplay Ex (google CBR Reader).
For tablet use comicat if the files are stored on the tablet and not a microsd/external storage. The devs have not updated it since 2017 and it can not see external media because of it.

I use a Windows tablet. There's an app you can get called Cover that lets you read stuff on your PC from any Windows device. When you have several TB of comics and literally thousands of individual issues, it saves bunches on space. Before that, I had a Kindle Fire with a 256 gig micro sd card and it was about 95% comics and about 20 books.

As for what kind of tablet, I'd recommend a ten-inch tab. If it has a good screen and you're looking at a good-quality scan, it's as close to actual size/print quality as you can get without buying the actual issues.

Are there any chronological IDW Transformers torrents out there? Most of the ones I've seen are incomplete or are just the Phase tpbs, which only go up to a certain point

IDW are kinda wrapping up all their books just now so how about I wait the few months and then do a complete pack for Transformers from 80s Marvel right up to the end of IDW?

Most of it does. My full Hasbro IDW folder would also have Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering and My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic which weren't part of the Hasbro Universe line. Admittedly two of those are Wizards of the Coast but that still falls under a Hasbro license.

Then there's also Jem and the Holograms and CLUE both of which I think are technically according to word of god part of the Hasbro Universe, but there's actually zero evidence that's the case.

But still I'll happily just chuck it all in anyway. Since Hasbro Universe includes most of the folder I might as well just complete it is my thinking.

The IDW Hasbro as well as Transformers comics from other publishers are gonna be shared in a couple months when IDW wrap their run up. They're losing the license soon so might as well wait for that "end point" to make it "complete".

Is there a pack that just has all the Krakoan Age X-Men stuff? Trying to keep up with it is hard, since it's the most intertwined stuff Marvel's done in years.

My seed box is only 2 TB big. I had to delete some things but I will be seeding DC Packs 2, 3, 4, and 6 alone with Marvel packs 3, 4, 5, what if, "anthology and genre packs", licensed pack, and crossgen/mallibu.

I have marvel pack 2 on my box but I cant add it back again for some reason. If I cant get that figured out I will DL it to make space for DC 7>

The Timely and Atlas torrents were the only ones that didn't need replaced and should have just been kept. I did say that in previous threads but it seems anons overlooked keeping the magnet links around.

When I was a kid in the early 90s, I used to buy cheap Star Wars comics at the Flea Market that were printed between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I know this because the plot was always Luke searching for Han Solo. Of course I had seen ROTJ so I knew. Does anyone have any of those comics? My outlook was as natural break points go there won't be a better one than that, and if people are desperate for any individual part in the meantime most of it is easily accessible, especially the IDW stuff.

I'm not really doing any of the work of creating these scans, just compiling what's out there already, anyone can do this with a bit of time.

NTA, but I literally don't have access to any good torrent sites in my country. All of them are blocked at an ISP level and the unlocker sites, at best, don't work, either being unusably slow or are filled with malware, viruses, adverts, spam and probably infecting me with the ten plagues of Egypt through my keyboard. Getting magnet links? Sure, I can do that all day. Getting to the sites they're on? Not happening. And before anyone suggests a VPN, I already pay through the nose for my connection and it's slow enough as it is.

There are alternatives to torrenting if it helps. There are more than a few sites that just have issues for reading online. I'm often surprised by how readily accessible they are. Genuinely have stumbled onto them when I was just looking for reading order guides, often having them return sooner in the results than the actual reading order I was looking for.

There's also the direct download approach, you can use GetComics or thelongbox forums for these.

You can look into getting set up on the bigger DC++ comic hubs, though that one requires a bit more tech savvy than the other options.

Also regarding VPNs, you can just use Tor browser as a free option to access any of them without needing to use the unblocker sites. Tor browser is gonna act like a VPN, though it will have the speed issues too, but it'll get the job done and you'll only need to get in and get out with the magnet really.

I know shit all about the comics but is Infinity War in any of these yet?

I'd never recommend that. The bigger hubs are all run by an asshole despot called Neslesux who's infamous for being everything toxic in one package in the comic community. It's one thing to demand quality, it's another to make people jump through arbitrary hoops so you can get a boner.

No, I wasn't aware at the time of making the torrent that clients without compatibility with torrent v2 will interpret a hybrid torrent file like that.

It's just a version issue and you can safely untick the pad folder and not download it.
