Some of the font files in the archive are well over 25 years old... there probably isn't any sort of restriction on them at this point, save for the more well-known fonts like Garamond

>Some of the font files in the archive are well over 25 years old... there probably isn't any sort of restriction on them at this point
Copyright lasts MUCH longer than 25 years. Unless you have an explicit message saying you can use something it's pretty safe to assume you (legally) can't.

No

not because I don't want to, it's just that a list of 1.5 million fonts would be big.

Assuming 4 bytes per character, and each font being an average of 10 characters, that's 62Mb of text. double if it's 8 bytes per character (yay encoding). Might as well just download the 13gb archive and see for yourself unless you have 90s internet

I watched almost every font downloaded (took 2 days). 85% is pure shit, 10% are enjoyable trash font that maybe you could use one day for a personal project and barely the 5% are fonts you can actually consider to use for real projects (accepting the license is free, surely not for the great classics). Any chance somebody has the Evangelion font? It's called Matisse-EB or eva-matisse-classic or Matisse Extra Bold

https://fontworks.co.jp/products/evamatisse

It's not the same as the modern MatissePro, the English characters are quite different (more rounded, less blocky, different serifs)

Fontworks only released the EvaMatisse font on a $60 CD in 2016, and as far as I can tell nobody has uploaded it. I even searched on Perfect Dark and couldn't find anything.
>>
You should never have more than 100 fonts installed because it slows up your memory and your Windows 10.

A simple VK or even Google search will easily give you 100 fonts, plus you can add 100 more for alternative use. Free fonts as well as pro versions are easily available.

Therefore sadly this torrent is completely useless.

Is this the part where I post a few new fonts that are generally not well circulated and not in the torrent? I can drop like 1 if I remember how to extract it

I’m a typesetter for a scanlation group (we take manga and we translate redraw, retype and some other things then we give it away for free) and this shit is amazing.

EPS appears recognized on this Mac. .SIT is indeed Stuffit, but they were absolutely awful maintaining their file format (as bad as Microsoft with Wordpad) and there's the HFS(+) resource fork to worry about as well. So those "archives" are likely more trouble than they're worth. .NFO and .DIZ are from The Scene (as in warez) and generally function as informational snippets telling you what the hell you just downloaded and who you have to thank (among other things). Then there's some shadier stuff in there...Specifically, I wouldn't touch that .COM file or any of the .EXE files if you're on Windows (COM files are from goddamned MS-DOS and may still have the power to royally fuck with your computer, I don't know). There also appears to be one or two old ads from some scummy loanshark as well (my guess is second or third world financier, using piracy to attract new clients in the West is a good way to go *out of* business, not attract more).

Still, ya done good Anon. Ya done good...

I attempted seeding, but there were no takers.

what do you mean
did you try to download but couldnt
did you try seeding but noones downloading from you

Currently going through this monster and trying to throw out the trash (specifically old Type 1 Postscript fonts you'd need Adobe Typesetter or similar to make use of). Also trying to validate with Fontbook, etc. Maybe I share when I'm done? There's a fuckload of space to be saved if you just focus on the readily-usable OTF and TTF shit, both of which reached parity with Adobe's obfuscated trash years ago while remaining accessible to everyone.

Does any of you guys have the Italic version of Lucida Grande? I could only find the Regular and Bold versions, because those are the ones that are included with OS X. The italic version exists, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

>won't people get sued if they use a font without permission?
In theory yes, but how would anyone ever prove you got a font through piracy?
It's not feasible to track down something like that, unless it's a huge corporation, in which case they often times use their own licensed fonts anyway or don't care how much a font family costs and just pay for it
>>
>>936792
Would be neat if you could share it, anon
>>
>>939642
Will do, already had to throw out some bad OTF fonts.
>>
>>939666
did you use >>924269 or extract all the sht beforehand?
theres a couple gigs of archived stuff
>>
>>939678
I used >>858487 because people weren't making their deduping policy clear. Also, stumbling upon entire directory-trees that were randomly empty (due to how that one Anon's deduping program worked) got old real fucking quick. In some cases the documentation (yes, professional font packages from honest-to-god professional type foundries have documentation) for the font was kept while the copy itself was deleted in favor of the same file in a completely different part of the hierarchy.
>>
>>934322
Yes, but unless you're a big boy who makes a ton of money on the fonts, nobody will care.
