Stupid question for jumpers out there.

What is the most wretched thing you've ever unleashed upon the world? Was it on purpose or on accident? ...and just how was it taken?

So what would happen if you broke the Rhongomyniad in a Exalted jump? Would it undo the Several Balls Disaster?

And what are some other jumps that would have a interesting effect from bringing old magic back?

If I start with a Pokémon jump, I usually use some kind of color as a nickname. Other than that, it’s something simple thats one or two syllables and related to that chain’s theme. For instance, I’m rolling with Grey right now, and my last Jumper was Snake.

>>60812108

This is a great idea, but it'd be awkward using "Red", "Crimson" is Chuuni as fuck, "Hazel" would be great if my SI got genderbent, which probably won't happen early in the chain.

I ended up changing sex early on. I ended up naming my jumper Ava. Partially because I'm a big of Ava's demon, but also because I like the sound of it, and it functions well as a short form of Avarice, which I use as my theme and motivation, since it's my motivation in real life.

I was going to do a native chain of Ava's Demon but we don't have a jump and I'm kind of bad at extrapolating characters, but I really like the name so I stuck with it.

Well the MC will be trying to gain strength in order to save his family from an evil sect, and also so he can marry his waifu. He occasionally shows up where a Heavenly Flame is at just the time when it is escaping from containment and brings it into the Flame Mantra while also usually saving tons of lives.

Listen, the trick to getting anything sanctioned by the Imperium is having it pay enough lip service to the Creed. It's not some infalliable arbitor of all that is human, it's a bureaucratic nightmare vaguely united in xenophobia. Floating skulls? Put some mechanical kibble on them and make sure they cackle less. Zombies? Force them to wear enough power armor to cover up the desecration of man's form, and you've got a noble hero of the imperium. Life drain? Put some sparkly golden light sfx on your spells and call it a blessing of the Emperor that /coincidentially/ tends to show up whenever his enemies suffer a bout of midfortune. Ghosts? Just Living Saints in training.

Ok, I did a quick skim and found that at least you have two perks for being a Gizoid.

Engineer But Actually A Machine:
>You're a Gizoid! Gizoids were machines created by the 4th great civilzation, distinctive for their orange round heads and their blue eyes, and were renown for their ability to use 'copy' skill cards. While Sonic had encountered a warrior-type Gizoid before, you're of the repair model. You can float across the ground with jets, and have access to a set of versatile and useful tools in a back compartment that let you work with anything from basic steam machines to advanced energy-based pseudo-mystical crystalline teleporters and anything in between! But that's not the most important bit. What's really amazing is that unlike your brother model Fixit, you CAN interface with unfamiliar technology easily. In fact, you have the equivalent of the Skill Copy system for technology: You can (by directly interfacing with a certain machine, a process that takes about an hour) completely 'copy' the blueprints of machines and store them away for later recreation or even modification, as you can 'fuse' Copy Cards of technological devices and artifacts to create new variants. This alongside your tools can allow you to with time and materials recreate almost any kind of technology you encounter!
>>
>>60812608
Searcher But Actually A Machine:
>You're also a Gizoid! But you're one that was reconstructed from a combat gizoid, so while you're still capable...a few things have been changed. Let's go with what you CAN do, for now! Firstly, you have amazing baseline strength that puts you above the machines of war that constitute Eggman's badniks and egg robos and allows you to destroy them (and the machines of G.U.N as well) with sickening ease, chewing through them as if they were stationary targets. If this was all you had, though, the name Gizoid wouldn't be so rightly feared. The greatest abilities of the Gizoid revolved around the source of their name: "Everything", in the languange of a forgotten civilzation. Gizoids could copy the combat 'moves' of those they witnessed on the battlefield and mimic them with their powerfully flexible forms, and what's more they could assimilate these moves and continously build power as more and more data and movesets were available to them. Unlike Gemerl, you retained this ability post-reconstruction...with some minor quibbles. The first and foremost is that while you CAN recognize and scan combat abilities to instantly integrate them into your own knowledge and replicate them...you have to be able to execute the move in the first place. Simply put, it has to be something possible with your current abilities. If you were to witness, say, a chaos control technique but had no magic or chaos energy potential to speak of in the first place you wouldn't be able to spontaneously generate this energy from thin air. You also wouldn't be able to use techniques that hinge on a unique biology or piece of equipment, such as flight with two tails, utilizing kickback from a pair of rocket shoes, or flapping wings to produce air currents. Still, this allows you to learn and archive the techniques of many and create a new form of combat uniquely your own.

Anyways.
Aside from [stuff] almost any version of the myths should work to fill you in more on the setting and in between events.
Fair enough. Google says Le Morte D'Arthur is considered something like a definitive version of the myths, so I'll probably go with that unless writing from the 1400s proves to annoying to try to parse.

>Just by asking? lord no. It'd be incredibly difficult to convince her.
But it is possible? Excellent. Maybe if I swear to embark on an epic quest for her and to join Arthuria as one of her knights thus aiding her in accomplishing her destiny? Hmm, now that I think about it, this presents the perfect opportunity to tie the Eleven Great Battles drawback into the story by presenting it as a Fae gleefully making use of jumper's careless promise of questing in exchange for the sword. Yess, this has potential.

Unfortunately, Oompa-Loompas are a a part of the original canon - I've tried to make them as happy as possible.

As for the drones, they lack any self-awareness. They are not intelligent and are basically tools - not people. The enslavement of sapient machines would be bad, I agree, but I've tried to make the drones very good at aping sapience through jump fiat without actually reaching it.

Actually, whenever I use the name Konata in a posted build, in my head that is not the name I'm being called, but rather is just a placeholder for another name I'm being called in the jump. The consistency is purely for the thread's benefit.

I actually use the names "Agua" (spanish for water), "Vita" (latin for life), Vaixt (my Nobody name; it's "Vita" rearranged with an x, pronounced like "Vexed"), Connie (Erfworld/Carnymancer/Con-artist & Dragon Ball -- my Saiyan name was Coriander, which shortened to Connie), Sonata (Megaman), and I often use Redwater as a surname or title after the substance found in Fullmetal Alchemist. I also went by K in Death Note, because it's the letter that comes before L. And "Venous" in Warhammer: Ogre Kingdoms, after the circulatory system plus similarity with the planet Venus.
And there are other names as well, but none I'm particularly good at recalling off the top of my head.

So yeah. I actually use a lot of different names, and it varies heavily based on setting and what name I think sounds good for the role I'm going to play that jump.
I imagine my companions tend to call me whatever name they first knew me by.

I believe anon's talking about Garrod Ran, the protagonist for Gundam X. His parents died at a young age, and he was left to fend for himself in a post-apocalyptic world.

So, he decided to make his dayjob stealing and auctioning off Mobile Suits. He's pretty damn good at it.

I'll usually stop by Duel Monsters: The Heroes fairly early on as a Drop-In to grab Visions of Justice and Mechlight Dragon Revolution. The former because I dislike evil Artificial Intelligence as villains and want to make a benevolent one ASAP. It's important to note that stress and overexertion can really effect the quality of your human, so eat them when they least expect it!

For you cannibals out there, how long after your chain start was it before you decided to eat a dude, and what were the circumstances of it? Given that my own Jumpers tend to start in pretty unpleasant places it's usually jump 1, but that's also because they start predisposed to snacking on folks. Bad folks, usually, but folks nonetheless. Take this Demon Lord jumper I'm running right now; it really just took their first bandit attack that happened to coincide with dinner time before they'd put long pork on the menu.

>>
>>60813577
Probably Death Note, VtM:B/VtR, DCAU jumps, Chronicles of Narnia, Jojo's, Bleach, Kingdom Hearts.

In order, Shinigami powers and/or the Drop-in Perkline plus the title item are handy for a whole bunch of purposes. WoD vampire jumps are relatively low danger if you're not taking the Gehenna-esque drawbacks and grant access to a wide range of superhuman abilities and sheds the mortal coil entirely, DCAU jumps for recurring story drawbacks and plethora of great items and perks. Narnia has "You're always you" and anti-boredom, as well as anti-time fuckery. Jojo's is a favorite of mine, Bleach has some cool pickups and the powers are a nice plus. Kingdom Hearts has a bunch of immunities that are useful, like complete immunity to memory fuckery, time stopping, kill anything perks and some other useful toys. Ben 10 has another good anti-time fuckery perk, but that requires 100+ jumps for the discount and I'm not a huge fan of the setting.

I'm trying to think of a setting that has the best anti-fate perk. I user terminator a lot, since that's got some extra time-fuckery protection built into it, but besides that one, they're mostly the same to the best of my knowledge.

For the most part, I really fucking hate time travel, just because of how much it complicates plots, raises questions and is handled inconsistently. Other time powers are usually not so bad, but so much of it is handled badly that it breaks suspension of disbelief. It also makes Achron very hard for me to wrap my head around, but that's probably for the best. I can't imagine looking into my future and then being able to translate beneficial actions from the future to the past, and then having more than one person in a story being able to do that.

It's a combination between the Prophets and the Huragok. In tandem they review discovered artifacts and items, ply them and then utilize them. Occasionally Lekgolo worms are used to sift through the larger ones.

Something that should really help you.

Huragok cilla can split apart into threads as it looks shit over, and can interface with technology eerily well. One video recording saw a Huragok take apart and rebuild a car in all kinds of different combinations and shapes until it got bored and restored the car perfectly, while another was able to look over and fix up a SPARTAN shield unit almost instantly. If Komodo wants to keep secrets, chances are he's gonna have to kill the Huragok in question. Especially since Covenant are VERY quick to implement imitations.

Huragok are also extremely pacifistic. Just in case you thought you wouldn't be doing anything morally wrong.

I guess… technically… my Jumper isn't a cannibal, by the strictest definition.
Because Runners aren't human. Technically, they don't even have a gender. Using the word 'it' for them isn't demeaning, it's a fact. We're shapeshifting viral monsters made from humans.

But my Jumper has been eating sapient individuals since jump 5, when he hit Prototype and became a Runner. And he never stopped.

When you think about, he's the lowest kind of cannibal, basically a fucking animal. He eats them raw, freshly dead, and whole, in a matter of seconds. That's the kind of shit scavenger animals pull. It's pathetic.

Dr. Lector would look down on him.

Harlequins also get a pass, but partly because they're part of the Eldar's rich cultural heritage and partly because even the Deldar think they're too crazy to piss off. Anyway it's Commoragh, the rules are just an elaborate way for the big man on top to issue challenges. A Chaos Marine once landed there and impressed the Deldar with his torture skills so much they taught him their own and sent him on his merry way.

Based on that, it is as strict as you are entertaining to any given Deldar.
>>
>>60815992
I think they generally use inhibitors and shit to keep the psyker levels low regardless of who the slave is, but if it's entertaining the Deldar will probably give it a whirl anyways, thus eldar gladiators.

Said Marine was Fabious Bile. Dude is so nuts even the Deldar admired him.

I think that rule is specifically for the Dark Eldar themselves because they would be beacons for Slaanesh; humans slaves aren't a huge draw for him/her/it even if they are psykers, Harlequins are protected by the laughing god, and the "normal" eldar are a tiny portion of the slave/pirate/etc. population that they don't matter so much unless they're really powerful since they aren't quite the same level of daemon attracting beacon that a dark eldar psyker would be.

Apparently she was part of a group trigger, so there's at least one more person out there who has a power involving Sting.

Vanilla Sting wouldn't be much of an issue to someone who can heal like that though, since it's just a "cut through everything" power.

Sting's really just a superscience armour penetration kinda thing. It's only super-effective against Endbringers because they were designed with a well-armoured central core/mass storage that could be attacked for instant death.

It'd cut a Shoggoth in half, but it wouldn't kill it.

You'll need to watch out for people who fuck with Thinkers for your own sanity assuming you don't have anti-madness perks, we know one of the Fallen, Mama Mathers, she can activate like a spectral hallucination depending on how much of her you've seen. So like just hearing her speak can fuck you up can she can constantly overload you with her voice and shit whenever you think of her. Like a bunch of thinkers are reduced to stupors cause of her. He'd likely get pretty mad, but unless you intentionally piss in his face about it, it's not like he'll do much. It's primarily the main patron's jurisdiction.

Doesn't the Lunar one need you to do some bullshit ritual?
>>
>>60816766
The ritual is "Hunt down animal you want to turn into, eat its heart"
>>
>>60816737
Well if the power of the person they ate was genetic they were supposed to be able to get it but the jumpmaker decided that was too strong so they didn't include it in the jump.
>>
>>60816766
>>60816790
It's not really that bullshit and heart can be as subjective as literal.

The default ritual is get to know, hunt and kill your target and eat its heart.

The nonlethal is know, hunt, than drink the blood of your target.

The noncombat is know, "hunt", than lewd your target
>>
>>60816857
Techanically, you don't /actually/ need to eat someone's heart even with the default ritual.

Drinking some blood is enough, though they still have to die with the default version.
>>
>>60816795
Even if they could get the genetic it wouldn't help with assuming the less tangible tells of a form, such as their fate. When a Lunar takes on a form (assuming they have the Knack) all forms of divination will say that the Lunar isn't there, only "Bob the Janitor," or whatever the form was.
I do agree that not getting genetic abilities as a Runner is bullshit though.

Would it be possible to create a NP, probably Grand, with a similar effect to Schrodinger's power in Hellsing or the Black Faith void circle necromancy spell from Abyssals?

(that spell basically means the necromancer destroys himself by throwing himself into the Void, but the Neverborn throw the concept of death of the necromancer even faster, so he doesn't exist but he isn't dead either, so he can just reappear anywhere regardless of protections because he is appearing instead of traveling - and as a NP it could have defensive applications similar to Avalon)
>>
>>60817847
Well, it'd be possible to have a similar effect but whether you can actually get it depends on the scale you're aiming for, since a constantly active Avalon except better, near total immortality and going anywhere you want instantly no matter what is a biiiiit much even for a Grand.
>>
>>60817845
>Funnily enough that is how I justified it to myself.
The obvious step is to ask the makers of the Dog Days and Kid Icarus jumps if they’re fine with that.
>>
>>60817847
Seems like you could do just that with Independent Manifestation EX. It already gave Tiamat a lot of defenses at rank B and presence across all space-time.
>>
>>60817847
>Black Faith
Do you think that counts as death? Both for the exaltation and chain-wise?
>>
>>60817888
Yeah, I know. I wasn't thinking of having constantly active, but that when invoking it you both exist and don't exist, which would allow you to dodge everything (even powerful dimensional attacks that might hit through Avalon) because there isn't a you to hit, and when you stop using it the paradox collapses it and you appear where you want regardless of protections against travel.
You could theoretically have it active all the time like Saber Alter uses Excalibur Morgan sometimes, but it wouldn't be its original function and the mana cost would be ridiculous.

>>
>>60817968
It doesn't unless the Neverborn don't like you enough to do their part. The spell itself is a leap of faith into Oblivion, trusting that the Neverborn will decide to throw your death before you are destroyed - which isn't a sure thing. Since your death was destroyed before you, you can't be killed by Oblivion, and that's why you reform again - with the bonus of choosing where.

Another Iaido option would be getting it as a Noble Phantasm technique through a Fate Jump. Some real fucking Gae Bolg or Tsubame Gaeshi shit where activating it before you draw causes the draw, the stroke and the sheathing to occur chronologically in the same moment or some shit.

I suppose. And that is fun, if I'm being honest I do like going through customization tables. But at the same time, I also really like the idea of bringing these things with me, to other worlds, and having them influence those worlds. That's a big appeal to me. And that's best done if I precisely customize the creature in ways the table doesn't allow, and so planning ahead therefore has a big appeal for the Monster customization table (also the alien customization table in DBS). It's got me pulled between two different ways of playing, and while I regret not using the cutomization table the way it's meant to be, the other goal has more of a pull on me.

(2/2)

A non-monster build. I know, the fucking heresy.

So after my time with a crippled limb, I managed to heal up in time for an expedition fleet to take off and explore a whole new section of the world. A new place, which means new opportunities. New monsters to find. New crafting! Oh frabjous day! ...aaaaaand people are regularly trying to steal my work, along with the weather being absolutely horrible and the monsters of the land being just as varied as they are fucking dangerous as hell. So now I've actually been drawn into a legitimate Death World.

...joy.

Still, between my old skills and these ones, I've become quite the exceptional crafter. Crafting that takes hours is only minutes, I can upgrade old gear without destroying it or breaking it down if I want to preserve it, and I can even get my bling on by harvesting other monsters and using their bio-energy to imbue items and weapons with powerful effects. Mixed with the infusion properties of before and the reduction of materials needed, and I suspect I'm quickly going to be one of the greatest crafters out there. Even with mixing together the bio-energy studies and studying/cultivating all manners of exotic plants while breeding new ones, I'll be very useful in this new world. Oh yes.

The Ancient Tree Sapling is a fucking godsend for anyone who wants to get into bio-energy and cultivating plants. Literally, it's like a dream come true. Tapping in my knowledge of being able to find and follow flows of energy in the world and by this point I'm not harvesting monsters and plants so much as I'm harvesting the power of life itself. Even if now I must focus myself on the true endgame of all crafters in this world. A craft so terrible that only the greatest hunters can afford to partake of it.

Fashion Hunter.

Kind of. Thing is in Valentia they use blood magic and can cast spells straight from stamina.

The only reason they are in books is because mages prepared it before hand so someone doesnt need to pay the vitality cost.

None of that helps at all with finding the damn thing

Dogshit, your average hunter is leagues above him.

Does anyone know where to get a good staff, or other casting foci? I already know of these.

Duel Monsters The Shadow Realm (Magician's Rod, Bound Wand)
Overlord The Series (Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown)
Garden of Avalon (Holy Staff)
Final Fantasy 1 (Sage's Staff, Judgement Staff)
>>
>>60819376
Not great. Hunters are all generally way stronger, tougher and faster than Geralt and his magic isn't really impressive enough to make a difference. His potions/poisons might help a bit against the lower end stuff but higher end monsters have crazy body shit of their own and way more resistance.
>>
>>60819427
I took a certain scenario for a very specific reason.

I'd say his experience with identifying, tracking and coming up with countermeasures to different monsters would come in handy. I have limited knowledge of his abilities though, and he comes off as not having much in the way of the big or overwhelming force which many hunters possess when their great weapons are taken into account.

You get creative. Sure they might outclass you in sheer biggatons, but you've been to five times as many jumps as they have. Even if they power game hard you're still going to have the breath advantage when it comes to powers. So you combine the powers you have in new and interesting ways. Slip around their immunities instead of punching through them. Follow the five Ds of Dodgeball instead of trying to block their attacks.

Worst case scenario, use sonic attacks. Nobody every remembers to pick up resistance to sonic based abilities.
>>
>>60821083

It's basically a watered-down Overlord with better girls unless you're really into the whole monster waifu thing that Ainz's girls have going on. The protag is a typical isekai loser riding around in his max level game avatar but since he has all the social skills of an old cabbage he falls back on his roleplaying skills and bluffs his way through being an alpha male with a pair of hot slave girls. The anime's only two episodes in but some summaries I've seen of the novels suggest he's eventually going to get around to the whole world-conquering thing at some point.

Normally I ignore generic isekai shit but this one hits me right in the fetishes and it's been moderately entertaining so far.
>>
>>60821371
Companions literally don't have enough points to become outer gods. Not like it matters, the better option of becoming a DI Hadou God lets you make your companions Gods too by absorbing them into your legion.

>unless you're really into the whole monster waifu thing that Ainz's girls have going on

>>
>>60821063
I am that power hungry sociopath. I make it a point to grab immunities to my own gimmicks. If there just going to go outer god right away, there's not really any hope of beating them, at least not outright, so it's mostly running until I can pick up something comparable. If I'm doing my practical chain where the risk/reward is slanted towards the latter and they have to stick to the same jumps, we'll probably be equal, or I'm better if he has to take a different build.

>>60821159
Yea in this situation, I'd think some power copying like The End or something similar would be of great benefit. Once you've hit a certain tier of biggatons there's either more biggatons or wider variety. Also I pick up sonic immunity, because I have problems functioning with high levels of mundane noise, I can only imagine how bad literal ear-piercing screams get.

Worth noting that War Trophies from GoHS or Adaptability from JLU (or any other Doomsday-tier "it only works once" power) is helpful against the renegade. If they're not as intelligent as you, they're certainly going to run out of tricks sooner or later before you beat them to death through attrition.

How many of you would accept a chain if you had to deal with a renegade every so often? What conditions would make that untenable?

>>60821327
DC settings a few. Namely Teen Titans and YJ, having Cyborg's sonic canon and Reach Scarab. I forget if you can get Canary Scream from Justice League. Bleach has the one hollow power that also gives you immunity to sonic attacks.

That's what you sound like.

>>60821461
I wouldn't mind dealing with a renegade every so often, but not inside the Jumps themselves. Only because the collateral damage would get insane very quickly and I want to enjoy the worlds I'm going to. There's no point otherwise.
>>
>>60821460
Not everyone thinks the monster waifu thing is attractive? For me it was always a huge turn-off but maybe I just have shit taste.

They can still buy Outer God Fragments and get the full power after a few years of training. Just means Renegade needs something to put after DYN Freaks.
>>
>>60821551
It's fine to not find it attractive, but in the case of Overlord Waifus that's basically their main selling point. It's kinda like saying tomboys would be better if they had longer hair, more delicate skin, behaved with more grace and acted extra girly.
>>
>Renegade jumper supplement
The gives everyone their own personal Bancho to bully? Because that's basically what Renegade jumper is. They're retards powerwanking and taking the strongest options with no creativity or intelligence, completely chaotic evil with no sense of restraint or reason, and more likely to get themselves killed or worse entirely on their own before actually fighting a real jumper and guaranteed to get killed in such a confrontation due to being fucking retarded sociopaths. All renegade jumpers kill themselves by falling down the stairs or getting shot by a hero with a gun on their first jump, just like Bancho.
>>
>>60821545
>I wouldn't mind...
Consider having a involuntary return option every X jumps where a renegade has thrown you off course and you're both stuck there until a certain condition is met.
>>
>>60821551
I personally don't like waifus who look too inhuman. Anything more than minor cosplay-tier stuff is a turn off.
>>
>>60821719
Racist
>>
>>60821661
That's a good way to handle it. I could see a Benefactor enjoying using the "certain condition" portion of that clause to set up games inside certain Jumps instead of it being mindlessly murdering each other every time.

Be the first one to seduce a specific female cast member.
Be the first to cultivate a max level pill.
Teach the next generation of heroes/villains without using your powers and see who wins in the end.

That could be a really fun chain actually.

How many Archer-tier cyborgs do you think it would take to take down the average Hercules Method Student? Assuming the cyborgs are highly trained.

Monster girls are the best. Albedo wouldn't be as hot as she is if she weren't psychotically evil, as enthusiastic in love, or didn't have big horns you can use as handlebars during sex.

Not really, no. This is more like having a Charles Manson Jumper after you.

A power hungry sociopath is Bancho. He takes max drawbacks in every jump and much as he believes he can beat them, has been agreed upon to die in his first jump because he's retarded. Renegade jumper is the same, fucking retarded and evil, and would pretty much end up dead jump one even as an outer god. He'd find a way to get himself killed no matter how much power gets handed to him because that's what the supplement makes them.

No jumper who's made it past Pokemon would lose to Bancho even at his most powerful, because Bancho would defeat himself. That's simply what Powerhungry Sociopathic retards are like

I looked at the overlord rip off and I want my time back. Those waifus were not as good as I was promised

Power-Hungry Sociopath doesn't mean stupid anon. It means that they want power and have extreme antisocial attitude/behavior whilst lack a conscience to hold them back. That doesn't make them autistic nor does it make them foolish.

Yes it does. Most power hungry sociopaths if sent on a chain would do stupid shit that would get them killed. Normal people aren't power hungry sociopaths because evolutionary speaking, empathy is actually very useful, and people who lack empathy are actually fucking retards.

A sociopath jumper is more prone to make poor decisions that are deleterious to their long term health like picking a fight they can't win against a being that can actually threaten them or killing a bunch of people they don't like without considering the consequences.

Renegade jumper is only dangerous because it assumes that they automatically succeed at everything they attempt in every jump they took, and survived all max drawbacks if you chose to take them for the Renegade because they're just that competent, a premise which is inherently unrealistic.

The Renegade jumper Supplement is bad, and the premise could easily be done far more effectively with less contrived bullshit supporting it.
>>
>>60822053
This, essentially. There's a difference between being greedy or power hungry and being plain stupid. If you were playing the game without narrative causality (assuming an actual plot armor perk would fail or be less effective against a drawback) the simple solution in most jumps is to avoid the main plot and stick within the default budget. If you have to take drawbacks, you're better off only taking the ones you can handle easily or are the joke "makes life annoying but not actually dangerous" drawbacks.or ones that are well within your capability to handle single-handedly.

Most people who aren't braindead won't get dusted in Pokemon unless they do something deliberate and stupid, if you're forcing that as a first jump choice. If you're not, there are plenty of settings with non-existent danger levels to anyone with the default budget where you can go at it with the big guys and then wreck a lower tier setting that has utility powers or whatever.

>>60822234

Generic Isekai, particularly for thematic reasons. I mean, Jumpchain itself is basically a meta isekai, so starting with generic isekai seems appropriate.

(I'd suggest not being shy about houseruling some of the stuff in it, though)

>>60822357
My biggest problem with Generic Isekai is that I'm not familiar with the genre. I don't know if I'd want it as a first jump since I couldn't take a lot of the stuff I want. It's got a lot of useful pickups but a lot of the perks in the origins I'd take are generally just high-stats.

I'd personally go something like Dystopia or Medical Drama. Both of which are super safe with the right build.

Renegade jumper is actually stupid because they're sociopaths. Being evil makes you dumb. If you're smart, you aren't evil, because only dumb people will act like a power hungry sociopath is expected to, as smart people know that acting that way will have consequences instinctively, and those who lack empathy will forget those consequences sometimes for long enough that it will get them killed.

>>60822342
Dead? In prison? In prison and dead? Fictional?

Face it. The long term prospects of sociopaths who act like sociopaths are very poor. You either fit in and get to live to a ripe old age and die to senescence, or you fucking get yourself killed doing something stupid because you didn't feel bad about hurting people.

Smart sociopaths do not stand out. They know not to cause problems, because they understand the point of the empathy which they lack, and are capable of consciously fitting within the social structures that empathy which they lack creates. They are still mentally disabled.

>>60822445
>I think he's conflating sociopath with retard who can't imagine consequences.
That is what most actual sociopaths are.
