Mormon, hard R. It's I resonated so well with the CYOA about a war between three gods that want everyone to be gods and one that wanted no one else to be.

The only thing I believe now is luck. Because none of the religion (so far) can give me a justified and satisfactory answer why I was born in a bad family and bad country, had autism and adhd, failed my life because of them, and now lurking 4chan, coping that one day CYOA is real so I can restart my life.

Sorry for being sour.

The "author" pdf turned into an obnoxious meme, and people were sick of it. The one shitposter kept spamming it, even after people stopped submitting new updates.

(On the bright side, it did prompt Angel to post openly for the first time in years.)

Gnostic schizoism with just a dash of ancestor worship and partial to some new age/hindu/pagan ideas like divine perspectives. Abrahamichads are alright, but physicalists are tedious crabs in a metaphysical bucket.

>>92367008
I like the visuals a lot, and the text and typesetting are very /tg/ (with the 4chanism of > but that's fitting I guess)
The completely unabashed premise is reminiscent of simpler time as well, it's like a brushed up timecapsule and that's great.

The idea is good, the girls are mostly good: Hathor strikes a chord, Bastet and Sekhmet are congruent and don't fall too deep into an archetype. Isis and Mafdet simply get less text and it makes them feel flatter compared to Bastet with stuff like the Bath anecdote in her favor, Mafdet is basically an autistic rogue and that's it. Neith is a step in the right direction again. What music though? Anuket is again slightly better because bits like the public affection leave you with an image rather than a list of traits, and her archetype is less class-like and offers more meat by nature.
Pakhet good.

Naturally I choose
>Ammit
and I wont elaborate.

If I was prompted to choose without her present I'd choose Hathor and hang out with Isis to pick up on some secrets of the universe when Hathor is asleep.

Great OC, just going with Kitty Cat Egypt and rolling with it feels like a breath of fresh air. If it's actually new and I am not falling for a ruse.

Its nice to see more Egypt-inspired stuff, as for goddess I choose Isis for the magic and healing

They are catsune and it's indicative of power! When Ammit wins this cycle and the other goddesses are banished to where she was (the great and scary outside) they will return with two tails each as Ammit has, but Isis will have three. Ammit will return again with three herself in the next cycle. Isis is technically powerful enough to stand up to her but wise enough not to oppose the Cosmic Cat Cycle, but she doesn't tell her sisters that because they are having fun. This is fan fiction

Facility: The Foundation
>'It could be a lot worse. Class' are fun, mostly anyway, the food in the cafeteria isn't bad and some of us even sneak out of our rooms at night and make up scary stories. About kids like us waking up strapped to a metal table or hunted down and detained in Area 51. . '

Memories: Friends, Mentor
>'I've even made friends here, good friends. Not to mention a favorite teacher. Sure, some of the other kids poke fun but it's nice feeling like someone's looking out for you.'

We can trade places, being played with by supernatural feline attitudes is very high on my bucket list.

Complications: Public Announcement, Police Activity, Men in Black.
>'The response from the Foundation was honestly more mild than we expected. I mean we can't really stay in one place for long and every time we show our faces in public we're taking a risk but I have a feeling someone's keeping the worst of it at bay for us.'

Plan: Complicated
I could see Charlotte just as easily wanting to Lay Low or Fight. Maybe even Search For Answers. Jacob and Nathan would both clearly prefer to Fight so depending on how Charlotte goes I can see her and Nathan butting heads. Charlottes ability being the most likely way for us to get money to survive might also rub them the wrong way. I'd push to stick together so you could lump that in as Join Others which wouldn't be a problem with Sarah and honestly I don't think Charlotte would run off on her own despite how she comes off. Again, Nathan and Jacob might go their own way as their goals are definitely in line with each other. Nathan would just see it as another arc in his story probably wouldn't have a doubt in his mind that we would see each other again, some day.

It's basically Auto Battle from Dame Skill Auto Mode, so you have to use indirect attacks/traps. It doesn't make you stronger, faster or tougher either. In theory once you get someone to engage you with Battle Precogniton, you can just lure them into the path of land mines, gas bombs, etc. The Mental Shock line would also be effective, and there's simply no way to dodge airburst artillery.

Mind control seems a bit overcosted but it's still mind control and anyone without perfect mental shields is just giving me more slaves, especially with Restructuring. >Pretty much. Theoretically if two people possessed it they might have a cold duel. Other than that not sure. Incertainity maybe?
I think another more serious difficulty is that, since it isn't actually a save point and is instead a prediction, you still have to DO IT - and merely knowing that it's possible doesn't necessarily guarantee you success. As a simple example, you may be quite capable of tossing a ball into a basket, and even do so successfully, but that doesn't mean that you will be able to exactly duplicate your actions the next time you try in order to sink it again.

We are not in practice perfect machines for turning information into results, which I feel would badly kneecap most efforts to turn long-term precognition into the ultimate trump card to accomplish anything.
>>
>>92367778
The fact that it's a detailed prediction and not an enforcement of reality is a good point. For example, if you shoot a barrel, it will probably explode, but it might not because the angle is wrong or someone with a shitton of luck walks into the situation and screws the situation in his favor. Or consequences might last beyond 24 hours (you nuke a guy, and he seems to be destroyed but it's actually just his regen taking a day and a half to restore him from a single cell).

Also, the "Shadowlord" build.

This is the one-man army build. I create 100 shadow servants, tell them to obey my shadow clone, then send him and his own 200 shadows out to do whatever and prioritize soul-ripping powered entities. So all the police, all the soldiers, the nemesis and the Inquisitors? Soul-captured. Meanwhile I'm half the world away and it calls me once it's done.

Main problem is fragility.
>>
>>92367662
It's an expression of the species. I imagine humanity not predisposed to it in the same terms as one not apt to pair bond. Not human as we know it but possibly humane (which is what counts the most).

I'd have stayed in that liminal space forever if I could but eventually the line came to an end, a fucking vending machine of all things saved me from a nervous breakdown. With some squinting and a little hallucination the shitty brand almost looked like something from back home. I must have "imprinted" on the place because I only feel like I belong there but it's a good feeling and one I'm eager to share.
>Psion (scrambler), Chemist, Idiosyncratic
I've since learned that others can brew up mutagenic cornucopias or psi-shout into the minds of others. Me, I've only ever been able to combine the sub-par scraps which litter this place into meals more than the sum of their parts. I don't "scramble" so much as "soothe" anyhow, even machines can be drawn away by my elixirs. Apparently memories of home transcend bio-chauvinism into silicon.

I was thinking from last thread about what would happen if someone like Tok got powers instead of a random person, how utterly fucked we'd be. There is A reason but as with all biological predispositions it was cemented back in the Pleistocene and hasn't had time to update itself since. >>
>>92365772
I am a radically conservative soteriologist: salvation is possible, but only theoretically. In practice, all humans unconditionally enter Hell, wherein they suffer forever and maximally. A human could avoid this by accepting God's love, but no human in all of history has managed to accept God sufficiently. No such human will be born in the future, either.
>>
>>92368455
They are maladaptive to the present because the present is just one (in fact, many) situations to dwell and excel in. The potential for adaption is always seeded in temporary maladaption, imo.
I cannot quite connect your (linked) post. Which expression is humanity not predisposed to? Also, are you taking the position that humans do not pair bond (the sentence looks a bit chopped so I am not certain if that is what you meant)? If so I would disagree, the spectrum of human expression in that regards is very wide between the mammalian extremes of tournament/hypergamy and pair bonding with both behaviors seeded in us in a schizophrenic way that expresses itself in our disturbed relation to that.

In Luminary CYOA, the Player will take on the role of an Luminary. You are soul-bound mortal champion for a deity that spreads their name and accomplishes their will in the worlds. Imagine Kratos when he served the Gods of Olympus, the only difference is that as a soul-bound mortal, you gain access to the powers of the deities you serve to use at anytime and you're basically immortal. If you die, your god can respawn you through a ceremony only if you don't get killed by the few death deities floating around. If your god dies, however, you lose all their powers and become a normal mortal. You will basically save the realms from different pantheon of deities and their Luminaries that endanger everything or just your goddesses with their antics.

>Can we become a god?
Godhood in Luminary is something determined by your creation or birth. The Player cannot become a god, but you can surpass a god in terms of ability if you get good enough.

>Who are the goddesses?
In Luminary, the Player is raised by six different Goddesses from soulhood. (Going left to Right) Ereyx the Goddess of Expiration, Outhal the Goddess of Tempests, Pontha the Goddess of Craftworks, Chraion the Goddess of Slumber (and Rape), Uraia the Goddess of Pyrelight, and Anchro the Goddess of Nature

So for evoker's oath I've decided on Trill, Schnell, Ottava, Coda and either Seikilos or Neume. Seikilos buffs the other 4 and makes them demigods, but he pretty much does nothing. Meanwhile Neume buffs ME to demigod level on top of letting me benefit from the other 4 spirits' buffs, and she's apparently godlike enough that even fighting for just an hour a week will let me beat damn near everyone. So I guess it's a tossup between four incomplete conceptuals and 1 supergod + 1 demigod +4 spirit rulers. Which seems better?

>Millionaire's Mansion
Easy, all I have to do to never succumb to hedonism and blow all my money within a year is to never enter the mansion. I will sell the mansion and with the cumulation of money I have I will make safe investments and thus be able to grow my fortune and then live a luxurious lifestyle for the rest of my days. Remember anons, RAW IS LAW!
>>
>>92368356
Shallow compliments should keep him i line. If anything he'd be one of the most relatively benevolent anons from this general to receive powers. Even more sadistic anons would not be too bad since they'd get bored pretty quickly or keep their inclinations more localized, as sadism is a more personalized action. As a whole anons here are not as callous as they claim unlike C suits and irl executives. The ones that truly frighten me are genocidal, utilitarian, sociopaths. Entropist would be a fucking catastrophe for example. Religious nuts like Cyrus too.
>>
>>92369149
Let us give our daily sacrificial offering of (you)s unto God Tok
>>
>>92369149
I concur for the most part. Though the guy behind entropist seemed to me to be one of those jovial high energy types that are usually quite benevolent if a bit dull/stuck in their perspective (due to having found success in a certain way they believe that that's the way for everyone in every situation). That's actually one of the better psychological profiles to end up as your god from the perspective of a subject to that.
Cyrus could go either way. I think he would be quite paralyzed when it would come to making decisions and would ultimately leave you alone most of the time. However he would be the most destructive with the wrong priesthood/advisors because he'd be a wishgranter of a kind way more destructive than tok if the narrative was spun right.

The one I am most afraid of personally is BTG.

Yeah, I'm thinking baste(t). Didn't know how much I missed this absolute spite of serious bznz while still actually being something

Mafdet has a personality now!
>wove the vinyl plates herself
---touché
>while Pakhet purred
I was going to say that the next step is adding a layer of cat mannerisms (that do not include any semblance of nya) to the options that are now woefully short compared to the upgraded ones..
>write the history books (Ammit)
>not weave the tapestry of history

My choice is already made and it definitely wont change off Ammit either way (no, I wont fix her). Instead you can have an entirely subjective tierlist (not ranked within category):

>Y
Ammit
>S
Isis
>A
Hathor
Mafdet
Neith
Pakhet
>B
Sekhmet
Anuket
>C
Bastet
>F
Scribe

It's top heavy because many of them are appealing. The prospect of navigating the inevitable social network resulting from being attached to just one of them almost makes Ammit not worth it. Maybe I can act as an agent or ambassador and get the best of both worlds.

NTA, but he has a point if he includes civil religions like the climate doomcult, scientism, right/left ideologues. >the writing style is exactly like old school italics x.girls.pick.y format and nothing like surnical
>The formatting is very classic /tg/ not polished turd new age, as others have said.
>The art style is exactly like this italics image. Cat girls with bright hair on their head, ears and tail, hairless dark Egyptian skin elsewhere, white flowing skimpy robes, and bright eye colors that vary. Vague ancient Egypt background.

I don't know whether you are trying to express agreement or pointing out that that scenario is contrived. I agree that he has been on the right path with the last few releases already but making a straight up waifu picker without any gender ambiguity or really the typical overabundance of ambiguity in general is off-beat, in a positive way.
It got a place, it got a vague timeline, it got a conflict, it got characters...even the recent heist one managed to have all of those while retaining so much ambiguity that it rang a bit hollow.
Next step: solid foundations like this with ambiguity employed as an intended stylistic element rather than a consistent feature. If he can do what he wants to do coming from the right direction this time I am looking forward to the future.

His new project where we go into outer space and Space Elves genocided Humanity by blowing up Terra amd there is Space Bnuy Pussy. My best friend and roommate, he is in deep with the Highlanderists, he went amok around our apartment and destroyed every photo and picture in the drawers and books and computers, and in their place he thumtacked some papers with text (phonebook pages, newspaper cutouts, etc). I'm still yelling at him. I'll probably move out, this it too much.
I heard some other guy chopped off all his limbs and locked himself in a cellar with hungry rats. Not sure if I believe it, but I hear that's how beeteegeeists do things.

He is incapable of making good waifus so it would be worthless to read a waifu cyoa by him, which this would be. He is also incapable of making different worlds, all his cyoas are in the same setting, so if you don't like that they are all worthless. That is also ignoring the preachiness in all he does. You can find good parts in a broken down car but that does not mean the car is worth fixing, you just take the parts out and put them on a good car instead, there may be good things in cyrus cyoas but they are useless in there, they would do better anywhere else.

Good cyoa makers know how to satisfy everyone. You'll understand when you get older. What is a cyoa without choices and allowance for the player to get their way? If you want to tell a story with limited branches, there are other forms of media for that.
>>
>>92374351
I've always liked the idea of moving Bloodborne to the modern era, but the Moon faction has always felt like a bit of a Mary Sue faction. They seem to have the best heroic bits of the Stars (scholars) and Sun (protector) factions, with no obvious drawbacks.

Still also think that "Vitality" and "Healing" are backwards, but oh well.

(It would also be nice if the cyoa didn't assume a strong familiarity with the video game. First time through, I was doing a lot of Googling.)

I do like the cyoa, though, and hope the author eventually finishes the sequel Longest Night.
>>
>>92375187
Confirmed to be cyrus and confirmed to be shit. Maybe one day you will learn how to not be a bad author. Nobody wants your raped goods, and your harem options are going to be shit and also cripple the player because you want to punish them for it.

I'm pretty indifferent towards his universe. That's not a problem since parts that are too grating to ignore can be overwritten.

>there's nothing wrong with an author doing neither
The problem isn't that there isn't an option, it's that there are specific limitations on what the player can do, with no way to circumvent them. Open-ended drama allows the player to formulate a story for their character to accomplish the "near-impossible", outright making things impossible to achieve takes that away.

This only proves how devoid of empathy you are. You are incapable of considering that other people may want something different from you, and you automatically consider them wrong if they seem like they do. Some people don't even want waifus, some want guys instead, but we already know how that goes in your world. Honestly with all the gays that get executed there should be a lot of leftover girls, and you can just say that the population is made of like 80% females by default instead. I simply didn't have the time to process my super-awakening and fantasize about world domination before I was kidnapped and dropped into a school filled with others like me. I'm not a god, then. I'm just different. But... I was better. I never needed to try hard in school, and I that didn't change here. But there was another teacher with similar powers to mine, and I won't pretend I didn't learn a few tricks from him.

My mastery of Telekinesis is basically unmatched, and I'm not a bad mind reader either. Maybe at some point I'll practice getting images through the mind links, improving the range on my telekinetic grab. But that's for later

I've read enough stories to know that some doors should stay closed. We were out faster than you could say Krivbeknih. The bright side about busting out of a shady operation like that is that none of the people gunning for us seem to have the law on their side either.

Once we were out, we had to be smart, find others. Our group doesn't take orders well, but there's nothing wrong with making friends. Individually, we are weak like a single twig, but as a bundle...
